leaks are exposure / marketing. if you make quality work itll spread like wildfire and you'll grow exponentially, at some point you'll probably want to make sure you're getting good conversion to the paywall, but artists like nagoonimation make a very comfortable living despite all his content instantly being leaked because he's so big that he can coast off the portion of people that just want to support him and still cruise financially.

on the contrary, you might make solid work but if you're so tight that only your 100 or so patrons get access and nobody ever leaks, you'll be stuck under 1000 patrons for years before anybody finds out about you.

kokoboro's struck a pretty good balance here. old works can get leaked to put the brand out there, new works are behind a tight paywall for people who want to support or see new content without waiting 5 months, and growth isn't as much a factor since he's already got a good base.

To be honest no artist is "Letting" people leak their stuff. Its just that not everyone wants/has the money to pay so we share. Kokoboro not getting leaked has nothing to do with what they want or don't want, but When people leak stuff on this site we have to usually wait until someone is willing or do it ourselves.and right now we're waiting.

It's not that, Kokoboro runs the vids on a different site than other artists. When you view their video, your IP address bounces across the screen the entire viewing.

It's a big security risk and a pain in the ass to edit out, so the majority of people don't bother sharing.

A few days ago, I paid to post his videos here, but if I do, people will know my email and IP address, so Kokoboro can come to my house in person to shoot me in the head if he wanted to

Also, you can't download it with the site tools.

They could screen record, but then they'd have to manually remove the IP address displayed bouncing throughout the vid like a screensaver.

This has been by far the most toxic, whiney, and entitled thread I've seen on the site. Can we all just shut up and be civil for more than one page?
