i am in the same boat as Yusuji, app local and patched, no real idea whats going on and usually i know what the hell i am doing with this stuff, modifying the system variables doesn't seem to help, and my game launches off screen, which i am sure is what is breaking mine, any other insight?During choosing some options you mean? I kept just pressing left choice. Worked for me on every lune game so far
Also there's transparent textbox option for those who didn't find it: Turn that off.

Game launching off screen is normal. There should be a small box that gives you a couple of options for setting the resolution and such. Could be that its going way off screen. seems its an issue with 4k dual monitors, works much nicer on my 1080 pos now i need to fix the name screen, english seems to be a no go for name characters
Two questions:
- How good / bad is the translation?
- Is the mind control stuff shown as evil mind control or is it the sort that just stultifies them? As in, are we talking mind control rape or mind control for "lust"?

Figured it out, apparently having a comma at the end of a line breaks everything. Don't ask me why lol. I've fixed all instances of it just apply the patch.
Just seeing the name made me realize this has an animated adaptation. Nice and thanks for the translation!

Hold on! What program did you use to insert the text into the game? I've been wanting to translate Youkoso Sukebe Elf No Mori which is also a Lune game but nobody knew how to put the English text into the game.

Translation is decent.
IT's MTL but it's GPT powered MTL, which is still inferior to a proper translation (at least for now) but it's plenty readable and generally doesn't have too many gramatical mistakes.
An occasional pronoun out of place or something but much less severe than classic MTL which would often devolve into gibberish.
As for the mind control ... it's revenge mind control.
So it's Evil mind control but the targets are generally depicted as mostly deserving it.
Objectively it's still bad but whether or not it bothers your sense of morality to the point of ruining the game largely depends on you.
At the very least the MC isn't simply some creepy mind controlling rapist that just attacks innocent people for pleasure. If that's your worry it's not to that degree.
I see. In that case I have to check it out if for no other reason than to see how GPT works with translations.
It's not really about morality. Or well, maybe. It's complicated and I won't pretend to get it. But I have no problems with rape as a theme as long as does not happen to a character I care about and as long as it is played strait. But the Japanese also have this obsession with making games where through some means, be that magic or just slutieness the girl suddenly starts enjoying it half way through. And for some reason I just don't enjoy that. Like it's that sort of uncomfortable middle ground between vanilla and rape (both are ok) which isn't. It's like if the victim in a slasher movie would suddenly star cheering the killer on. Just... no.
I mostly play these games for the story though as opposed to the porn. So that might be the reason.
