YEA! THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH! (& MY POOR TIRED EYES THANK YOU TOO!
I hope it worked for you. After I told you that, I had an incident where I was trying to modify something in my game, so I put an rpy file in the /game folder like I told you to do, but it duplicated things instead of overwriting them. So I was starting to think I had given you bad info.
PS if anyone knows what file(s) these are in (in old modded ver, font sizes for Bus P was w BUS stuff, again same w contracts---even the "main" font setting in preferences didn't change them.) please let me know , thanks.
Here's what you can do to hopefully not need to rely on anyone else ever again...
- Go to this page and download UnRenForAll (the other versions don't seem to work with recent versions of this game).
- Follow the instructions to unpack all the scripts from this game (but if you already modified GUI.rpy, make you sure you move it to another folder first, so it won't be overwritten).
- Open one of the scripts in the /game folder in a script-editing program that has a search feature. Many years ago, I started using a program called Editra for renpy stuff, specifically because I liked how the search feature worked. In Editra, you would go to Edit -> Find (you can't just press CTRL-F, because that only searches in the current script).
- Under Find, make sure you select Look In: Current Directory. If you did open a script in the /game folder and Unren unpacked everything correctly, then Current Directory will cover all the scripts in the game. You can search for Bus P or anything else to your heart's content.
is there a walkthrough for this game? seems that there are alot of events and characters that are missable if you don't know what to look for to trigger them.
There's definitely not. The closest thing is the in-game hints and Story Progress pages for each character, and those are very incomplete. I'm trying to put something together by going through all the scripts, but I don't always understand how to interpret the conditions for something to happen. And to be honest, I'm not really prioritizing this project to spend a lot of time on (a barely get to actually
play the game as much as I like, and the walkthrough thing is way less fun). At my current rate of progress, I would probably be done going through all the relevant scripts in about two years, and that's honestly an optimistic estimate. Of course, in two years, all the scripts will have been changed, but hopefully the major scripted character events won't change very much.
