And if you refer to the one of Elkrose's posts above that work is almost done. Thing is, it's already a pretty good sandbox experience. Wouldn't hurt to make the model and sex part hotter, the main reason why people play this game in the first place.
Tbh the main thing keeping it from being properly sexy is that all the women are just floating in midair and I just have to assume a ghost is having sex with them. The outdated models are something I could easily overlook.

You also (hopefully) don't own a pharmaceutical company or drug women to have sex with them. It's a game, with the floating penis potentially representing the male without having to depict (or model) the male.
That's not to say all males are represented equally, with regards to size, skin color, etc. but I don't think that's what you have a problem with.
Honestly, I would even find mysterious floating space penis superior to just making weird poses.

over 86K images to render to be exact
There was an html game some time ago where I noticed there was an option in settings to generate 3d renders in realtime or use ai generators for characters.... if that can be implemented in LR2 that would be less work than a full DAZ remake and would not need that much upkeep. Buuuut there may be inconsistencies depending on how good the generators areover 86K images to render to be exact

Live 2D, although requires tons of work, was to chosen one. The reason to discard the 3D engine option, was that its implementation in Ren'py was not possible in the way the game requires.
As the discussion set quite clear the true reason behind that decission, I'll say no more about this.
Just dig in the threads (keywords "3D" and/ or "Urho3D") and get your own opinion.

It's essentially code to allow other mods to 'hijack' segments of code calling the modded code instead of the original. It allows 'plug and play' style mods that can just be dropped into the folder rather than altering the original game code itself.

That's what I thought at first place too and placed my ammended *.py into the mod folder too.
Nevertheless, with or without folders there was no alteration of the origin scripts.rpa-file.
I even erased the modded files from scripts.rpa and got a bunch of error.
