When I launch the game, it runs but does not take any keyboard commands at all. >:/

Had the same thing. Some games are a bit weird with that. Disconnecting the mouse works for me to fix it!

Also have an issue with the game not responding to controls at all. I saw earlier someone say to disconnect the mouse but I have a laptop with a touchpad so no way to unplug that
