Producing a Lara Croft game for a developer that think that Lara Croft does not exist in the reality is not professional.
Visual stories are like movies....
Have you ever heard an interview of Angelina Jolie or other actors and directors during the official interview about their latest movie?
They will never tell you that the story does not exist in reality---
All directors will never say that their characters are not real!
They talk about the characters as if they are real--
This is the first thing they teach you at the Academy....
You have to make people believe that the story is real!!!
Bc if you are a developer who believes his story is unrealistic I think you have chosen the wrong business!

just my 2 cents

What a strange post. First of all, to expect Old DVD to be a professional is unrealistic. Second, I have very frequently heard actors and directors talk about the unrealism of their latest movie, and describe the differences between their characters and themselves. Third, their is no "Academy" from which all directors and actors have graduated, so what it "teaches" is irrelevant (and probably non-existent).

Old DVD is perfectly entitled to have his own stance on how realistic he wants his games to be, and I appreciate him sharing his thoughts here.

Yes, he modelled it from scratch.
Holy shit
I have to commend you for the renders. Great job!
I'm learning Daz 3d and Blender, planning to release a game few months down the road.
May I know which softwares you use? Can you give any tips for someone new to 3D modelling?

You obviously did not read my previous post and did not understand the point of my comment....

really?
I was talking about official interviews and in any case when they are still working on the set actors are very concentrated in their character .. especially the directors!

I never say that OLD DVD is not perfectly entitled,,, he can do and replay as he wants...
anyway it is not very important ... but I confirm my first post whre i was talking about real people ...
I had said that the model who has the role of Lara Croft big boobs do not fit well with the actions of jumping between graves or hanging from vines in a jungle
And since the model has the face of Angelina Jolie it would be good if she also had similar body proportions and as you can see I I post a picture of Angelina on the set of Lara Croft
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
and the stunning Alicia Vikander
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

I repeat mine is just an opinion that is confirmed by the actual proportions of either actress because as I said... all women who want to do sports activities while having big Boobs have to use tight bandages to avoid dangerous stretch marks... too big breasts cause irritation problems... in fact today plastic surgery on breasts is used in majority to reduce their size

If this model did not have such a great resemblance to the first (REAL) actress who for first played the role of Lara Croft I would never have written this post ...
This Model has a very realistic face on an out of proportion body... for me it is ridiculous.
But certainly each of you is free to think differently

Cheers

is that just me or Lara has a very masculine face. kind like a trans-person?
Just one problem, why does she have the jawline of Marlon Brando from The Godfather? Massive turn off.
I haven't played the game yet, just looked at the pictures on this thread, but I noticed the same thing: Angelina's jaw is too wide which gives her a slightly manly look.

To the dev: only small changes like making her jaw narrower and a bit rounder would give her a more feminine look.

In reality she didn't have such a prominent jaw at the time of the movie (see picture below).
It might appear wider than it was in some pictures taken from the front and from some distance since the photo lenses "compress" the depth.

It's very difficult for me to give a detailed answer. Especially considering my English....

For modelling you will definitely need ZBrush, it is paid (or pirated). For the connection between Daz 3d and ZBrush you need a free plugin GoZ, it can be downloaded from daz3d.com. And then everything is simple: you export Genesis 8 or 9 from Daz to ZBrush and back again and see the result.

Required:
  1. A lot of references (photos of the actress, necessarily in full-face and profile). I, for example, have studied Jolie's face so much that I can guess at what age she had plastic surgeries and what kind.
  2. A lot of patience. There will be psychological breakdowns. The rich Russian language, with its variety of profanity, helped me through the failures.
I'm not sure about Blender. I tried Blender Bridge a long time ago, but gave up on it. Export from Daz to Blender is easy. But loading an edited model from Blender into Daz is torture.

At this stage of development, I'll no longer be changing her face. Besides, I've crawled around her photo with a ruler long enough, the end result satisfies me and I wouldn't want to go back to the "creative" work of sculpting her face.

Agreed. But I do commend the developer for his work. I do think this VN in general and Angelina's model would greatly improve from more post-work by enhancing colours and doing some tweakings and enhancements to the renders.

This model can be improved. Currently it is only 1/2 as beautiful as Angelina Jolie.
Sometimes better is the enemy of good enough. I'd rather the dev spend his time developing the game than redeveloping the appearance of a character.

It's a fair opinion, however to me, these 3D games become a lot less interesting when the imagine quality it's lackluster as is the case in this one. I rather be more patient and have a better product in the end, but that's my personal preference. The "just gone enough" approach most often then not in the end tends to turn into "actually not that good", which is why I appreciate a lot more those who put in the effort to deliver quality over quantity. But I respect those who feel otherwise, such as you.

Mind you, this is not a knock on the developer here, but he does seem talented enough to step up the end quality if chooses to, which is why I mentioned.

I'll say a few words and then disappear from the forum as it's more distracting than helpful.

Usually people say they like the model. Today I found some people who think the model needs to be improved. Yesterday in a private message I was asked for a link to the model, so it's the best Jolie on the internet. Today someone doesn't like the model.

Some like her body and some want to reduce the model's breasts.

Some want more tattoos, some want fewer tattoos.

Some people like Jolie, some people think that Jolie's Lara is not canonical.

And that's just me listing wishes for her appearance (and not all of them). You have no idea how many other wishes I read for the plot, mechanics, etc. And the most creative wishes are written to me in private (it's awkward to publish them publicly even on a porn forum). Something like this:

"Bro, I live in Israel and I love hentai, so I have a cool idea. Do a scene where Lara is being fucked by tentacles in a synagogue and two rabbis are watching and masturbating. That's a cool idea, right?"

This is a fictional example, but trust me, I have crazier ideas in my private messages.

And of course - how could it not be? - everyone thinks they're right. 99% of people know what I should do with the game, and they genuinely wonder why I don't run to fulfil their wishes.

Every render is a lot of work. Sometimes I sit on one render for hours.

And I'm not going to redo 500 renders because someone doesn't like something. If I suddenly decide to fulfil all the wishes for my game on the internet, I'd have to make 20 versions of the game. I don't have that much time. And I don't have the desire either - I'm making a game that I like. When I'm not sure about something, I do polls among paid subscribers.

And the funny thing is that paid subscribers are the least demanding. It's paradoxical, but it's a fact.

So if you don't like the breasts, the jaw, the idea of Jolie, the realisation of the idea of Jolie or whatever - well, I can only give you one piece of advice: don't download, don't play.

I do agree with nearly everything you said and I'm not sure if your post was aimed at me or others, since to be honest I only read a few posts before the one I responded initially, but to be clear my point was not one for you to redo all of your past work. I do agree that your model is probably the best of Angelina around. Could it be better? Sure, since there's always room for improvement and I don't think anyone's being extra harsh by pointing that out.

I do tend to approach criticism in a positive way. Like I mentioned before, I see talent in your work, so I won't apologise for expressing my opinion by pointing out some things I believe could be improved. If I thought your work sucked, trust me I wouldn't bother writing in this thread, because unlike many people around in this forum I don't waste my time with negativity and toxicity on games I don't really care about. But pointing out either flaws or things that could be improved in games I find interesting, that I do and will keep doing.

Your work is in the public market and as such it will be target of criticism. Some may present such criticism in a bashful way, while others, like I believe I did, will do it in a constructive manner. If you feel it's unwarranted, feel free to ignore it, but be ready for it, because it will keep happening as long as your developing something that's for public consumption.

Of course the game could be objectively improved in many ways. However, such improvements will be up to judging by the perception of hundreds if not thousands of different people with as many subjective point of views.

There is 0% chance of everyone agreeing a particular change is better in everyone's subjective minds. This point cannot be objectively be debated and this is the point the developer's just made.

The best old dvd can do is create something the majority of his paid supporters are happy with and according to him, he's done that so there's really no point doubling down on criticism of the game, constructive or not. His mind is made up and you really can't say he's wrong.

No, I have no complaints about your criticism, you are really constructive.

It's just that I've tried to communicate on F95 many times, and every time I go "to the people" I end up in a spoiled mood. So it's best for everyone if I limit my activity, staying only on Patreon and Boosty. Besides, the time I spend on the forum can be spent working on the game.

Now that I do understand. Time on this forum can be really taxing, for the reasons both me and you just mentioned, which is also the reason I basically almost never post anything here nowadays.

Anyway, keep up on the good work as I really think you got something good going forward. My main suggestion for the future (probably not for this game as it would make no real sense to do it halfway through) is to dedicate a bit of time to develop those post-work skills with photoshop or some other software so that you can enhance colours and make them more vibrant and appealing as well as the majority of the textures.
