I don't know about the "failing his dream" part, but regarding the choices, here's 1 example: after the mc plays basketball with Viktor he gets to choose whether he should pursue Sana or not. If that happened in episode 4, the altuistic mc would automatically say no because "that would be mean to Will" So I expect the mc to make dumb choices like that on the altruistic path starting with episode 4 unless the dev changes his mind.

2 game , that presumptuously boast of offering radically different path depending on our choices.

At this point mc's personality/path is about the girls he's interested in.

calling it false advertising is a bit much when there's still a lot of game left to be created

Yes I notice that and may be a flaw but a minor one in my eyes because that variable can still be used in season 2, My main playthrough is and always be the Altruistic path and I refused to send her "under the bus" so the other 2 playthroughs were mostly skipping dialogue I already saw before and in the the selfish path I made the other choice, and I didn't saw any change due to that option in the trial.

It's a bit of metagaming on my part but I don't mind that choice, easy selfish points for me.

You mean the selfish / neutral / altruistic path which basically the only effect is determining if you fuck girl A / B or C ?

Once again my question was : " Is it true that like it is advertised , it is possible to get on a path where the protagonist doesn't overcome the difficulties he faces , and heads towards failure .

I'm a curious gamer , I'm curious to play a path like this if it is available , that's why I asked the question .

I don't think anyone knows that, we are very early in the story to actually know if we can actually fail school or have a bad ending it will probably be something we are still years away from finding out.
That being said, I would say your main focus shouldn't be to play this game expecting a bad end because even if he were actually to include one it would probably be a side story and not a real full fleshed ending with epilogue.

Personally, I don't take too seriously any advertising I read from an avn, I take what I read as the general idea the dev has, but I always wait to play first to really decide how much of that will be true or not.
