Hello everyone,
Last week was a good one!
I made surprisingly great progress with coding the images and animations into the game's script. I also completed all the postwork (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere) for the available content.
In short, all renders from DAY 1 to DAY 8 are ready, and I'm currently rendering DAY 9.
Animation-wise, the rendering queue is quite large, but that's expected since I recently focused entirely on static renders. I'm not sure of the exact number, but there are about 30 animations in the queue, totaling around 2100 frames. It's going to take some time to render all of them.
In the meantime, this gives me a chance to handle the more tiring and repetitive work: implementing the available content into the script.
I'm currently working on DAY 7 and should finish it today. DAY 1 to DAY 6 have already been completed.
Between today and tomorrow, I should also wrap up DAY 8, which would be perfect timing for me to start working on DAY 9.
Things are moving much faster than anticipated — I'm about 10 days ahead of schedule, lol.
What’s next?
I'll still have to work on Facegram, the new apps, the new UI, and some finishing touches.
I'll start with the new apps right away because I want the phone in Law School to be accessible at any given time (unless I specifically disable it for story reasons). I really want it to be a useful tool throughout the game.
I won't list all the new apps here, but some highlights:
- Check your relationship scores with LIs (Love Interests)
- View your personality score
- Access a glossary of legal terms you’ve learned (for exams and for fun - Yes, learning is fun)
- Review recaps of major events and decisions you've made
- Change the background music from the phone, with the current song title displayed, etc.
Good news: you won't have to restart from scratch to enjoy it.
Also, in June, I’ll be launching the Steam demo again, meaning the new UI, new intro, and phone system need to be ready.
So the next few weeks will mainly be dedicated to that.
Timeline:
- By May 24th, I'll send the game out for the first round of testing.
- Before that, I'll finish the new intro and the redesigned UI.
- After that, I'll start working on the phone apps.
I won’t talk about numbers this week — I’ll share official figures when the update is ready. (For now, things haven't changed much.)
I'm really excited seeing Episode 3 come to life.
The quality of the visuals is excellent, especially from DAY 3 onward.
