i know.. but last week he told what he has done already ( and tested) and except some animations i think everything is completed..
In this week's update he said the following was done:

"Static renders: 536
Animations: 2
Story content: 12 scenes written (8,054 words)"

In his first update he said:

"Static renders: 333
Animations: 0
Story content: 8 scenes written (4,906 words)

Aside from the animation numbers, this is a solid start. I’ve also set weekly goals for this episode, because I really want to stick to the 6-month schedule I’ve got going. It won’t be easy, but I’ll do my best!"

He's nowhere close to being done.

I really didn't get the same impression you did - presuming you're referring to the dev log from a few days ago? There has been great progress since the last release, but that's just how dev rolls. Last update had over 3000 renders, the dev log counts a bit over 500, so although render count is not the be and and end all, I wouldn't suggest it's even close to being done yet.

Keeping to six months would be amazing, but yeah, imagine one like this bucking the trend and reducing the time between updates (without reducing render count or quality)...

TonyMurray here is where i got the idea he will be faster... 536 renders and 12 scenes in a single week is hellish fast.. if im not mistaken last episode was around 2000 or so static renders, so 500 SR a week = 1 month ( give or take) + animations + remaining scenes) ) 2/3 months
6 months still fucking fast..there are Creators who spend a year or more in products with much less quality

as i told him im a graphic designer so i can stimate how much time he may be using and i can bet i would never be this fast..

Well, that was a second week, and I don't think that's "what I did this week" I think it's a running total - so 12 scenes total (minus 8 from the previous update is 4 new scenes written) and 536 renders total (minus 333 from the previous update is 203 new renders). The last update was a little over 3000 static renders.

No argument on his speed being fantastic. I just don't think it's good as you think it is!

I agree that 6 months for this amount of content of this quality in both renders and storytelling is extremely fast. I really applaud MM for keeping it at this rate.

For funsies I've downloaded and counted all the files and animations from episode 4, and these are the numbers I'm getting:

Static images: 3097
Animations for choices (clips of static images): 57
Animations for reminders (those summary scenes where it's retold in 3 images) 8
Other animations (mostly lewd scenes): 70

you gave me the numbers i wasnt sure.. and damm i was so close to the truth.. jaja less animations than i spected.. but more static images... even though my stimations are more or less the same

I have played some and a couple scenes have really made me laugh. 1 was the scene where you tell people about fangs party and Will and yourself detail your experiences with Liam and then it just cuts to John looking sad. I laughed a fair bit at that. The other was Alphonse with the chair that made the lady fall. I am enjoying the writing so far. Dont think I have much more to get through left so lets see more humorous things

I wouldn't really say John is looking sad in that scene, but more unsettled, as if there is something secret going on.

But yeah, just about every scene with Alphonse is funny. Another great one is how he knows when they want/need something new to drink. :KEK:

If you didn't get the game from the original developer website, then the transfer looks bad. The people who played the first Season under the name Connor Smith ,they report far fewer problems with the transfer.
So that means I won't be able to play it anymore ??

No dude all you got to do is work around it. All your other variables are saved fine. It is mentioned many times earlier in the thread you can use the search bar to look through it for key words. Just proceed with the name Connor the first time it asks upon importing and keep nickname default the first time. Then it will ask would you like to keep these names. Say No. You will then be allowed to rename yourself back to the name from your old save. Ez Pz no need to panic.

As I intended and actually had the integrity to do (unlike the developer, currently, who FACT botched 'LawSchool_Season2-Ep4_v1-pc' release) Icame back ti investigate again.

You what sucks - people making excuses for a developer's mistake and also the developer (if they did see mine and other reports of import attempts that result in obvious error - right there in traceback) ignoring or making excuses, such as when the error occurs in S2 game stating 'sorry guy, it must be your save that is corrupted.

Common sense, everyone here who had a problem - a game breaker when your core LI (Love Interest stats do not transfer from Ch.3 > Ch4!!) - of course downloaded the patreon version 'LawSchool_S1_patreon-pc' the same last update S1 version from F95. They didn't get some 'pirated' alien version from somewhere else and come to F95 to complain.

For the record, I even re-loaded what was the very same 'LawSchool_S1_patreon-pc' to re-test, which was irrelevant because in S1 all my saves worked 100% fine. I even rolled back to a previous save or 2 and played forward in last past of game.

This is the very clear traceback error, which 100% proves it is also not a corrupted save issue, but rather a corrupted or erroneous coding issue to import this variable, as in my case,

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "game/values_s1.rpy", line 2172, in script call
call mp_assign_variables() from _call_mp_assign_variables # Assign our variables
File "game/values_s1.rpy", line 1200, in script
python:
File "renpy/ast.py", line 1187, in execute
renpy.python.py_exec_bytecode(self.code.bytecode, self.hide, store=self.store)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
File "renpy/python.py", line 1273, in py_exec_bytecode
exec(bytecode, globals, locals)
~~~~^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
File "game/values_s1.rpy", line 2153, in <module>
c1_e1_d5_miranda_dm_answer4 = mp_imported_script_variables['c1_e1_d5_miranda_dm_answer4']
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
KeyError: 'c1_e1_d5_miranda_dm_answer4'
This is very clear and explains why some people might have the import work and others not: " 'c1_e1_d5_miranda_dm_answer4'"
This is not a 'LawSchool_S1_patreon-pc' file or save error, everybody or majority here whether the import worked or not used this very same S1 final version whether it worked or not.
The obvious problem - not theory, but fact, is there, it is standard python, ren'py error, where one variable failed causing the crash.
''LawSchool_S1_patreon-pc'' plays and saves and exports 100% fine. S2 even recognizes the exports just fine. The problem 100% of course lies when S2 attempts import, encounters a mismatch or element missing - right there in S2, meaning S2's code!
The end.
Instead of falsely blaming or supposing it must be user fault of some alien version, or stating FALSE WORKAROUNDS, ie. such as "just choose default 'Connor' name and then rename your character and all your variables will simply import, which is simply FALSE, then perhaps someone who is in contact with developer can let them know about the issue, which they can certainly fix by the next update. They have the needed info, right there above in the traceback log!
This will not only make the game playable now and in future for all players but is a serious error in the first release of S2. If ignored and not fixed then unless the game is one-filed at end presumably years from now, the game will be broken.
Perhaps someone else playing or you next time when you complete S1 will have a different answer, variable set for '
File "game/values_s1.rpy", line 2153, in <module>
c1_e1_d5_miranda_dm_answer4 = mp_imported_script_variables['c1_e1_d5_miranda_dm_answer4']'
And then yours or theirs will break next time.
And btw the to disprove the nonsensical false state about a 'workaround' by just hitting 'ignore' when the import error - yes ERROR - occurs well you can try a rename but then go to (a) phone > diary and likely find one entry/choice you made off, or the dead giveaway, (b) phone > character = ALL LI (love interest) = 0, meaning all your core progress with all girls is zero and wiped!!!
Do yourself and others a favor, especially if you ever want to play game, report this exact post to developer. Hopefully they are not dismissive and arrogant like the very worst developers are...
As far as what I will do? I personally will check back next update and see if import in the next iteration of S2 release is fixed in supposedly February or if it pops up sooner on F95. If not the truth then is the game is broken and imo not worth anytime going forward at this point, unless maybe game is finished and one-filed (which I suspect won't happen either). It is of course not acceptable if imports works for some but not all based on one variable choice, which apparently is the actual issue. Evidence, fact is right there is the trackback.
I personally had this game a Grade A level, but again like I stated before. very disappointing, I hope dev is made aware and gets to fixing it. Also I hope the people reading this won't spread lies such as the bogus workaround or or act defensively out of ignorance.
My report here and traceback, along with others is probably the most important and meaningful feedback, bug report proffered on this thread, the difference between a non-seamless broken game going forward or not.
Good luck - someone please alert dev ;)
PS. At this point, I am just bummed at some of the more decent VNs out there either aborting with halfas abrupt finishes, as has been way too common after following several for years, or in this case worried that beyond serious bug reports other previously good VNs like this get ignored. I 100% if I didn't just raise this issue, people who just have said - import broken - oh no it must be your fault cause it worked for me - the stupidest irresponsible answers that only shows the people stating that have zero concept of programming.
At this point I might, as well as others stop wasting time, months, years playing VNs that fail to actually deliver or peter out. Right now I am just going give games like https://f95zone.to/threads/revenge-of-the-nerd-v0-1-01-alpha-valkaree.282570/ a chance. At least it looks sort of ridiculous and fun and surely will deliver a better payout per time invested. But seriously, it would be great for bug reports to be taken seriously instead of dismissed.
