Weirdest thing to me is fan games get insta lawyered by Nintendo yet Palworld (not digging at it, I own it and enjoy it) is basically Pokemon with house building and Nintendo gave it a pass.

hmm probly the makers were lucky to bring up the muscle to actually get it through court? Ninetailtendo would spend quite a sum on lawsuits, preferrably C&D orders beforehand to avoid court, but they probly won't spend on a single case to infinite. some small independent dev with a idea, like in this case here, would shy away from being financially bound to maybe several years of back and forth, uncertain outcome, with likely the development ordered on halt until the case is finished, while Ninetail's house own lawyers throw objections at any courts decision over even more years.
patreon would likely slam the door shut for this dev at the very instant they get wind about the faintest possibility of lawyers involved, so zero incom from that.

*edit* idk Palworld is there anything lewd in that.. if not, a bit less grounds for Ninetails persistence, maybe.

Worse, they filed patents. Far wider reaching, if they chose to guard them. But most of them were rejected, their scope was considered to be too wide. Thank fuck for small miracles.

So there is the obvious one, Lovander, the date-rape lizard. And just among the less 'blobby' (think Flopie) cruciform Pals, there are Katress and Wixen, Nyafia, Lunaris, Bellanoir, Lyleen and Petallia... and that is just listing some the feminine ones. If Thunder so chose, they could match the head-count of this game Pal-for-Pokemon, including Pokemon's evolutions, and not even have to use anything that walks on four (or more) legs.
The main hang-up would be the lack of settlements in Palworld.

Yea this game was one of my favs way back when it was releasing. Hopefully like them bringing Ash back to Pokémon maybe we can hope this comes back too.

Kind of a silly mistake, considering "pokemon" is just a portmantua of "pocket monster" which would be just as good, still clear to fans, and not copyrighted.

This is so much better then all the other poke games and as someone said above how are there so many similar games being made, some have been developed for a couple of years and not been noticed.
