Pretty much yeah. He only wants the untainted ones. So if the bandits got the girls first for example he also no longer wants them as well.

Is there a very simple summary of the plot for the game somewhere?
Been a long time since I played and with the release of the next game, I'm wondering how the new story (and NTR) compares to this.

I'm kinda torn here, see, I went for a new playthrough of this game because, well, I realized after starting Dungeon and Bride I've never really gotten heavy into Leane 2 (I don't even remember getting to Diamond City lol), so I'm torn: Part of me wants to go full heart rip-out mode and just have the NTR happen, while the other part of me wants to take on the challenge of keeping as many girls safe as I can (including whoever I ultimately pick for a pure love ending).
Luckily I'm only at the start of the Take Diamond City objective, where the game starts really opening up in Act 1, but now I got another thing: to recruit Beatrice/Cynthia in Stormlance route, do you have to seize their territories, or do you just rush Diamond City?

You have to seize their capitals and all their factions' hero units will be recruited to you. They will still be independent if you take Diamond City without beating them.

I never thought to look for mods when I played Leane 2 years ago. So if anything was incorporated into the v1.51 I just assumed it was vanilla.
What are the stat reveal and darker then black mods?

Stat reveal is.. revealing heroines love stat. Darker than black make the game much harder. Then, romance all mod supposedly a harem mod, which is gone(?)

If I remember correctly, the Romance All mod was the basis for the Stat Reveal mod, but I could well be wrong.
It's not about a connection. The modder who made those mods was, at the time, making plans for each mod to be a compilation of multiple changes based on user demand. Not a lot of people showed interest though so the modder moved on.
