Least Favorite Game Trope?

Simple enough topic. Whats a trope in these games, like a common theme or event that you see a lot of that sometimes gets old?

And I don't mean entire broadstrokes of genre like "I'm sick of incest games." But something more substantive, like "I'm sick of incest games where. . . " and so on


So here's some tropes we see a lot that kind of grind my gears


-Games where the entire story is building towards one girl, and because the game puts that girl on a pedestal any progress with her goes at a snail's pace. Like it'll take 5 chapters just to get to 2nd base. Meanwhile you have girls throughout the game you can bang immediately. It gets to the point where you stop caring about the 'main' girl and just want more content of the ones you already banged

-Incest games where you're an estranged father and that gives you a free pass to hook up with your daughter

-This one might not count as a trope so much as a creative choice by the dev, but games that outright punish you for going the 'fun' route. Like "Do I hook up with this big titted slut or do I just hold hands with this prudish girl all night?" and if you do the former you either get a game over, or severely mess up your path in the story.

This is more because it's way too common but I'm sick and tired of games in which women have to be "taught" to like sex and be tricked and abused to get there.

Even then, they never get any agency in their lives, let alone in their sex lives and sometimes they don't even have a character of their own they're walking talking onaholes.

The obsession with virginity in female characters, especially in Japanese games. The majority of female characters introduced in hentai games are virgins that have never had any sexual encounter in their life even if they look like milfs/pornstars, they put so much emphasis on that its such a turn off. And another one is the loser and idiotic/beta male mc that somehow gets an entire harem in the span of days just because he says one compliment towards them.

Sissy/shemale transformation games that use some cruel and/or bizarre method to force the MC's changes. They're always blackmailed or hypnotized or drugged or abused in some way or another to bring about their change.

Can't there be at least one of these games where the protag reaches their goals willingly?

I may be in a minority here but games with terrible grammar spelling and writing, not a trope but it is all too common these days

Ass-clown protagonists, i'm not even talking about outright dumb MC's like in DoD where he really must have been pretty blind not to see half of the goings on but where the player character is blatantly not worth even being around and still somehow people treat him like he's the hottest cock on the market, i don't know how many of you have played no more secrets but the MC in this sums it up pretty well.

Games with a school setting, some are great some aren't but please a little more variety, not all MC's have to be 18 and magically have a sister who is younger yet also 18 and still at the same school, it feel lazy and repetitive now, not that i don't enjoy superpowered, but that is in part because i know that it will be school and beyond, eventually.

This is a personal one, naming your own MC then that character being bland as hell, i'd rather have the character pre named and with a character and background than generic and nameable, they all just become Max the generic 18 year old perv.

Underage looking Mc's: this is probably down to taste but i'm just not interested in seeing a supposedly 18 year old who is about four foot tall with a foot long cock, ICSTOR used to be guilty of this but thankfully he's getting past it.

Least favorite game trope?

Lets see, probably games where the only difference between the female characters breast size is that it goes from huge to enormous to gigantic. Or where the body parts (and faces often enough) are outright copy pasted. And then having a picture of them lined up, as if to show the many different bodies in game.

Oh yeah and the elephant dongs. Not real elephant dongs, that would even be a welcome change. Im talking about the male mobile stripping poles in their pants. So I guess what im saying is, dont completly overdo it all the time and its fine.


Also in this case its a "least favorite" only that I am a bit fed up with it, not that I hate it.

My least favorite tropes, in no special order:
- Lesbian sex turning into a MFF threesome: I prefer lesbian games to straight ones, and a guy interupting lesbian action is like pouring cold water on my dick.
- Teenage virgin protagonists, especially in mom-son games and especially if they are smaller than their moms. Make the motherfuckers at least badass motherfuckers. Creepy grandpa protagonists suck too.
- Shota/loli: Anything that is not visibly an adult, should not be in porn game!
- Any male characters (at least except the protagonist): While I prefer lesbian in games in general, there are some male protagonist games, I do play, but only if the protagonist is the only male character involved in sex scenes.
- Female protagonist games that don't focus on the lesbian content. I love lesbian games but I hate female protagonist straight games.
- Games that use random porn pictures as a replacement for artwork.
- Bimbos: Stupidity is a trait that will prevent a woman from ever being attractive to me.

The main reason I hate incest games is they are cliche riddled abominations.

the vast majority have one or more, or in the worst cases ALL of the following, spying on someone in the shower (more minus points if the boy is standing right infront of said shower masturbating and acts all surprised when the woman turns around), sleep rape, mother wanting to fuck the son because she sees he has a big dick and 2 sister one being older the other being younger. The older sister has to hate the MC while the younger one loves him.

More minus points if the boy complains about his penis being sore when he has an erection and needs someone to fix it for him.

I really enjoy some Japanese RPG's (actual RPG's not the ones that have a female protag that's used as a constantly raped cum dump .... I hate those).

My problem is the writing and virginity.

Usually a warrior woman, spent years fighting and training, has sex and still has a perfectly intact hymen .... that's not how bodies work Japanese developers .... stop it.

Even better when that warrior woman is an immortal that's lived for hundreds of years yet only ever fucked the MC. It's so far fetched if I was to suspend my disbelief i'd needs the worlds largest scaffold to hold it it up.

Nosebleeds ... fuck off with nosebleeds. "Oh no, women flesh" ..... nose gushes blood ..... it's shit, they need to be stopped.

Stuttering ... just fuck stuttering. N... no... no one e..e..ever t..t..alks like that, not even someone with a stutter.

That shitty thing they do constantly because they can't tell someone how they feel. They blush, they stutter, they umm and ahhh .... JUST FUCKING SAY IT. It isn't cute, it isn't endearing it's annoying as fuck.

The overcompensation of fake masculinity. You've got a guy that can't say how he feels, stutters around the woman, bleeds at the sight of boobs yet says the of so moronic words "as a man, that offends me" when a woman calls him cute. I call it fake masculinity because apart from those words he acts like a fucking beta fembitch the rest of the time. The women have more balls than a lot of male MC's in Japanese games.

One recurring theme that should get fixed is a character not remembering the past.
Usually it's some jap embarrassment fetish where the mc just stays retarded virgin who has never seen a penis forever regardless of how many times she has sex. They never learn.

Probably all cliches on which incest is built. Nowadays you just can't have a normal family setting because of these ridiculous reactions and characters. Son is always a sexually obsessed retard and whole family consists more or less of a walking sexdolls. It always breaks any realism and immersion but I think it has to do with this whole fetish.

Another thing is a giant tits obsessions. I see an interesting game like Taffy's Tale, I download it and all females look like some pornstar abominations. I love tits and big tits are great but when all characters have such (even those clearly underage) it puts me off.

There are plenty of them but these are the most annoying for me. I could also mention all these "over 18" girls we all know are not but it has to do with all these western laws so that's more like a need rather than cliche I guess.

White Knight Syndrome/Favors for Sex - I hate when games have you do chores and then get sex in return. Because you found the unreturned library books the librarian will blow you under a desk. You found the cheerleaders lost scrunchy so now she'll let you fuck her butt in the locker room. You cleaned the pool so your mom will now let you nut inside her. On the other hand, for White Knight Syndrome you will rescue a woman from certain death from monsters, gangsters, or some otherworldly horror. Before the corpse of her aggressor is even cold she will be offering to fuck you in thanks, usually next to his dead body.

Stupid characters. Characters that are so easily tricked you wonder how they survived this long. "So I have to wear handcuffs and a ball gag for the business meeting? Seems weird, but you know best."

Games with female protagonists where every single guy is an absolute creepo. I realize guys are horny, I should know, but it's laid on pretty thick. Mailman: I'd love to put my package in her box. Grocer: I want to squeeze her melons. Priest: I'd go to Hell for some of that ass. They usually aren't even written like that, more like "want smash." Maybe, just maybe you could keep their pervy thoughts a mystery. You could even convey it with stolen glances or hungry eyes.

(not really a trope but..) Corruption games where the character doesn't start being corrupted. What I mean is, you've got a female character who is about to suck her 100th dick in the game and she's still going "I don't know if I can do this." I get you want some resistance, but at some point they should start to own it. At least become ambivalent about it. Like "He wants me to suck his dick, but I did fuck that homeless guy earlier so it could be worse."

You're bringing up an interesting point and something that pisses me off in a lot of h games. The pacing.

By pacing I mean, devs often seem to feel like their games needs to have things for arbitrary reasons. Like "I'm making a game technically so it should be challenging", lining up with ideas like the "stairway to heaven' or Getting clockblocked a lot early game. Or, for a way obvious exemple, games made in RPG Maker which have equipments and stats for the only reason that they are made in RPG Maker. It doesn't make sense in the plot, it doesn't add anything to the experience, it's just there because "RPG Maker games should have fights". And then there's the fact many of those games are way too difficult and tedious, making things even worse.

Some games take that approach with just making you wait. That's the only way they could think of to have "challenge". Have you walk around a lot, do litteral fetch quests and in more VN types things just clicking through walls of text. That's not challenge. That's just fucking waiting.
