The scent does not need to be overly grotesque or if its something that you would not want to smell. a good example is the game I work on, I do the art, writing and programming. I don't use something like renpy because I need a lot of flexibility for what I am doing, I am aiming to give the best of both worlds, visuals that are arousing as well as text that further enhancing that experience, if the person wants to take the time to actually read it. not everyone does, but I imagine there is probably a sizable portion that DO read the dialogue and sex scenes, or else things like corruption of champions would not be so popular. but that is beside the point. The problem is this, someone does slight variations, and it's all very, VERY poorly implemented dialogue. I could post a bunch of examples, but as a game developer I make it a point to not come off as attacking or criticizing another developers project directly.
I am a biological female, so maybe its something that only women really enjoy(I don't really think it is), but knowing things like the fact the faint smell of sweat is there, or the slapping sound from a cock being violently thrust in and out of the targets ass, or that the monster bee girl smells like lavender and her "honeypot" vague taste of her womanhood and honey, or the description of an engorged cock leaking precum, or even as far as the salty, or bitter taste of a rope of cum as it slides down the womans throat. these are all things that turn a bland, image only experience into something much better. I could probably let a game get away with just the dialogue and changing of the images, but it would still need to have some care in it's craft. how many times has someone been so fucking lazy, they can't even be fucked to spell out the dialogue properly. its "u" instead of "you" and other such things. or they can't be bothered to implement a line break and integrate a description of the action currently happening.
instead of:
kate: "oh wow, we were really in trouble back there"
kate giggles nervously, wiping her brow.
kate: "well if you need help again, let me know."
it's instead:
kate: "oh wow u almost got grabbed back there LOL" ^_^
the second is common enough that I have been able to take note of it.
maybe I am just being picky, or i'm a bitch when it comes to criticism, but it just seems really lazy to me.
