I really think there is a place for all of the options, if the character is just going to "do their thing" then let the narrator turn it into erotica with a bit of narration, if she's very talkative then make it dirty, just make it reflect the characters involved, if she's shy then put the mental monologue in but please people don't just leave it bland, especially when a dev has some great renders or art then wastes it without the text to support it.

Games where they hide major story points by giving someone (usually the main character) amnesia because they're not good enough writers to find a way to reveal big plot points without it.
Trope:
Adult consenting characters playing the long seduction game with every character they find.... C'mon, In real life any adult knows if he/she wants to bang the other person in 3 seconds, and social taboos about fucking a person that you barely know are gone with some beers after they decided to take a date.
So... the long seduction game for a well written character? Ok... It needs some work and well writing. For every girl/man you wanna bang? None of it. You can't bang her or she is not interested. That's rape or MC is just a emotional vampire/bully wearing and wearing down the other person until accepts to fuck.
If this logic goes to the extreme it converts itself in the easy throwaway sex trope, and is not what I'm talking about.

I think a lot of writers here view the sex as some reward at the end of a long quest and the seduction some how represents that journey.
I much prefer writing where the sex isn't so much the reward, but just exists along side a good story. Expanding on your excellent point here, the story can be about absolutely anything you want at all. But because sex is such a natural part of the human condition you can fit it into pretty much any tale with the right lead up.
Or if the story is going to be about the sex and the relationship, there are better, more interesting stories to be had in the exploration of the relationship itself rather than this long drawn out romantic trip that leads to the gates of heaven. I think a better story, especially in the incest/taboo genre, is what happens after the sex. Ok, so we've crossed that threshold, how has life just changed. What complications and drama have now arisen that we've take this bizarre leap and how do we deal with the repercussions and ramifications. So many missed opportunities for good story telling.
"Young" is fine. But "Smart" would be a decided improvement. E.g., the MC decides he wants to accomplish X, Y, Z. He does some research, makes a plan, starts executing it. Some of things he tries work well, some don't, as this happens he refines his approach. He also starts to anticipate problems before they happen, so starts planning ahead to deal with them.
My least favorite "meta trope" is the "one size fits all" approach to game development--just throwing in fetishes to try to draw in as many people as possible. Combined with the "don't reinvent the wheel, stick with what works" approach, you wind up with dozens of games in a contemporary urban/suburban family household, or an apartment building full of milfs and their daughters, or a college campus--then a young MC with a big dick, who always has creeper options available to them, must grind away to get with the major female love interests, etc. So every game has voyeurism, groping, sleep sex(i.e., rape), and so forth, even when it really is jarring or makes no sense for a character who purportedly cares about the people in their life and isn't a narcissistic psychopath obsessed with manipulating women into sleeping with him. At this point there almost needs to be a tag: Erotic Megalomania to cover this genre of "MC seeks to sexually dominate every woman in the game world, including all blood relatives". Hey, done well, that could still be an appealing genre. But not every game needs to follow this kitchen sink, cookie cutter approach.
In terms of escalation, yeah, normally there might be a brief period of going slow and holding off from full sex, but it's exactly that, brief. IRL if someone is not a teenager and they're doing that, there's likely some manipulation or counter-manipulation going on(i.e., that person is trying to get something out of the person they are effectively blue balling--money, personal favors, commitment, etc.). In the limited context of incest, yes, some brief period of incremental intimacy might make sense. Otherwise the distance from first kiss to vaginal penetration is likely only a date or two(if that).

That's a good one. I don't really mind, in theory. If the characters are young, and even for a childhood friend or something. If it's a romance story where they have to build up to it for whatever reason. Plus, I like it. Although it happens so often it lost it's charm at some point.
But definitly, when you go around sexing up 27 women, it's straight bullshit you have to go through weeks of fetch quests and busy work. And it's unnatural.
The thing is, one can make a game with "long seduction processes" for a lot of woman, but the process cannot always be the same for all (blank slate -> peeking, discovering you want to fuck her / she discovers you have a huge dong and want to fuck you -> hilarity ensues -> drama -> fuckings).
Example of variety in the same game:
1. You are already fucking a girl. You break up, and the long process if to recover her.
2. As now you are single, You have the standard long seduction game with a girl or two you want to fuck.
3. It seems your childhood friend has always been in love with you! You're single, she's trying to help you out and hate that bitch. Its a long seduction game, from her to you. You are reluctant because you don't see her that way, so it will take a time until you take the bait.
4. You easily fuck the school's bitch in a drunk party, that was easy sex? no. She's gonna give to you all kind of problems, only fuck when she pleases, and the long seduction game is to make her less bitchy and a bit more submissive to your desires.
5. etc. its not hard to bring original ideas.
So you get the long seduction game with a lot of girls like many devs want to do, but with variety, feeling realistic, and having some sexs on the starts and mids of the plot of each girl, only leaving it to the end to the main romances.

Agreed, those forced rape/abuse games I also avoid like the plague. I think they're pretty rare, but that also might be because I just flat out don't play them.
Mind control is popular because it's an easy game mechanic to make your game a game (I'm also guilty of this). It's hard to write out a long story where a relationship forms (especially a unique sexual dynamic relationship). It's much easier to have a magic potion/gemstone/jazz hands that slowly turn your cousin from a fully functional human being to a wretch that survives off your dick power.
I'm with you. I think games should just have casual sex in them if they're going to have casual sex. Even if it's that bizzaro porno-world where everyone from the mail-lady to your birth parents want to fuck you, that's still more natural than people exchanging sex for menial tasks.
