What do you expect from Gabe?
Seroiusly this is in development since 2016 and first version had almost more content than the rest. Jut as reminder Gabe said there will be 3 Episodes and Episode 2 was released like 5 years ago. Since then Gabe just does lots of mumbo jumbo stuff to milk the money.
2013. The first screenshots of Colussia being in development were posted to bolster crowdfunding in late 2013. I'm not trying to be a dick to you or anything because it's understandable, but moving it up 3 years gives Gabe too much cover. Since this game was originally pitched with a cycle of 1 episode per year, the project should have been wrapping up a few months after it was first posted here. Pretty much the entire lifetime of this thread (hell this site) is the delay.

does this game have a good story ?
that's what people are mainly complaining about... the story is actually REALLY GOOD, while it's obviously the nsfw scenes are kinda excuses for the author to show her fetishes, the characters are great and distinct, the story engaging, the world-building interesting and the mysteries of the world really entertaining. The world does feel alive and you want to see how things are resolved.... the issue is that the main story has barely progressed in the past 3-4 years in updates, with the majority of them being side-quests nobody asked for, minigames nobody asked for, remaking of assets nobody asked for, and random side-stuff very few people are interested in.

So yeah, the story is great, but it doesn't have an ending yet and we don't know if we will ever see that ending.

out of curiosity how long was the dev cycle for LoQO2? I remember it taking a long time as well and when complaints were initially coming in about the time it was taking for Origins, Gabe got mad on her blog complaining about how this wasn't new and people knew by now it took her a long time to make games.

Granted this game has been, from the get go, far more ambitious than previous games in the series.

About 4 years, roughly. Production started in 2010 after the release of LoQO 1 and the first version was available in 2011. IIRC Episode 2 released in 2012 and Episode III/Golden Edition in early 2014. Most of this is evident based on posts from her Hentai Foundry page and from user posts on the ULMF forum.

Honestly I'd say Gabe was very much in a hurry to get to work on Origin at the time. I recall on her blog a lot of people were complaining about how unbalanced the game became because she assumed most people were grinding the fuck out of their characters up to the release of Episode III so III ended up being a buggy mess which prompted a very immediate Golden Edition to which she said there will be no more updates because she just wanted to get started on Origin.

The main issue being the difficulty spike, it was a deliberate choice I made because without even trying, you could pretty much kill bosses in three turns at that point in the story before the spike.

Golden Edition will address this by lower PDEF (normal defense) on enemies found during locations you have to visit during the story, optional enemies and bosses won't be affected by the change.
New for Golden Edition is the option for you choose between Normal and Easy Mode when starting a brand new game, Easy Mode will be for those who wants no challenge through the storymode and just steamroll through the game.

Golden Edition will also include everything I originally wanted to be in the game in the first place, but didn't had time to add for the release due to...well, how I started this topic. ;)
But when this version of the game will be finished is anyone's guess, I'll likely work on it during my spare time while the crowdfunding for my third game is running.
Honestly, my personal opinion, LoQO II is huge and the amount of content the game has is extremely generous for 4 years. I mean hell, Even Origin, up until Episode 3 the releases were quite consistent.

Episode I - 2015 (1 1/2 years)
Episode II - 2017 (2 years)
Episode III - 2019 (2 years)

I figured Episode IV would've dropped by now, though given all of the ideas Gabe added I'm not surprised. Not defending it of course, but at present LoQO O is probably thrice the size of LoQO II Golden, roughly estimating. Still, I'd rather have the game complete and Gabe spends another year adding bonus content than what she's doing now.

Also regarding complaints, I went to see a lot of posts to confirm my dates here, it seems most players were upset that the focus shifted from the Egyptian ladies to the new ones which I can kind of get.

I'll do you one better. A gallery mod.
Replace this file with the original in the Data folder and go into your camp.
The poster will change your appearance for the scenes and the dove will transport you to the hall of memories to watch them.

For now there's no reverse teleport because I only wanted to mod that one map so you have to have unlocked Warrengard to go back to the game. Otherwise save and go one way.
I could put the thing closer to the hall of memories but I wanted a place easily accessible that Gabe wouldn't change later.

If anyone can beta test it for me that'd be great thnx.

PS. There's 39 variables for scenes but only 38 orbs. A scene called Gabrielle Magihound exists but isn't watchable in the hall. It's been too long since I saw that scene so info would be appreciated.

Is there a version of this updated for the most recent release?

Is this game restricted to 640x480 resolution (from RPG Maker XP)? The entire QoL is horrendous. I've played a lot of older games and RPGM games, but this is way too out of date.

I recall some people here had a mod for the XP engine itself that allowed them to bump up the window size and resolution plus it added some other neat QoL functions. Sadly nothing can be done about the engine now. Was already dated in 2015 but Gabe said she can make the most potential out of it with her knowledge of XP over newer engines.

Based on what you’ve sain, I’m ready to dive in! But, what order would you recommend I play the games in?
