Another reporting an issue with this not opening on Windows. I've extracted and try to run it, but it just opens a ghost for a second then immediately closes. Same issue with both 7 and 9. Works fine in browser though.

edited: seems to be a 'device driver error regarding Vulkan' (ten year old laptop!). Unsure why all other Godot games I've downloaded work though, and this does in browser. Would appreciate a normal full screen version if that's do-able, otherwise I'll just stick to the browser.

edit-edit: I needed to 'force the game to run in OpenGL 3 compatibility mode' by adding ' --rendering-driver opengl3' to the end of the target field, since my old laptop is unable to run Vulkan or DirectX 12. Works fine now.

Easily my biggest gripe with the game. And from your "best friend" who you tell you dont want it and she doesnt give a fuck about you. The game would work so much better without any dialogue choices. Because the choices are nothing. GF still the biggest whore imaginable. Best friend hates your fucking guts if you say you dont enjoy it.

It's already the most kinetic game possible with just a few diff words.

It's especially great when in the latest chapter she offhandedly mentions she used to have sex with Michael, introduced him to your friend group, and implies she'd like to sleep with the GF too. Even if you've spent the entire time saying you don't like this and don't want it.

Terrible people, but the art and characters are hot (yeah AI blah blah i'm here to nut not see high art. Story is a nice bonus when it doesn't remind me why i gave up trying to date at all.)

Would be much happier with it if there was... any backbone in the MC at all, or humanity in the other characters?

Shame that the Phone/Snapchat(ish) story delivery mechanism just hits all my buttons, like goddamn.

maybe one reason why this work feels a bit different from others of the same "phone chat" type games is that the dev said that it's based/inspired by an actual couple who did things.

in fictional works, stuff has to make sense, like the characters, the story, the progression etc.

but in real life? many times, things just happen w/o rhyme or reason, or just happen because of coincidence.

as for the choice system, iirc, the dev said that there will probably some rewrites to make things more explicit that the MC is playing along or something. (again, iirc)

nothing wrong with a kinetic novel really. having many branches really makes things difficult to write because of how much work tends to multiply for each branch that is implemented. sometimes, it's better to just have choices that lead to different pictures but still is a linear story. branches can just be added as a dlc once the full game is made.

just to add, hope that in the future, a save system can be implemented so that players don't have to depend on the chapter system when playing the game. plus, having a rollback or undo function might be good so that players don't have to play an entire chapter all over again just in case they want to choose a different answer to a question. an undo button also helps protect against accidental presses.

so far, among unity-based phone games, only Corrupting Mia has an undo function.

I don't actually want the story to be changed so that the MC is a willing participant - that'd be removing the most interesting aspect of it and making it indistinguishable to every other phone-ntr game. Instead, i want him to have a bit more of a backbone when he continuously says he doesn't want this despite still finding it arousing - something more along the lines of 'yeah, I was curious how much i'd like actually indulging in this fetish - and i've had my fun, but this isn't actually what I want. when she steps across the line (which she already has) and i have the chance, i'm gone'. It'd actually be really satisfying to have the GF disappear for a few days and - as a previous poster mentioned - essentially forget the MC, only to come home and find he already moved out and ghosted her. Experience the fallout from the text messages from mutuals and social media posts.

Because the GF doesn't know about his fetish, and seemingly doesn't care either. she blew the 'friend' on the first day and was already making sideways remarks and gaslighting. 'my mouth hurts', 'i thanked him better then you can'. etc. Alongside sexting with him even before that.

The issue isn't that there's zero response to the MC saying no or the MC having the option to do so, it's that the GF has no regard or respect for the MC and his friends are gaslighting him into thinking that's ok.

Basically - The GF being a cheating whore is fine - even hot, in a deeply hatable way - but the part that hurts the story is the MC having absolutely zero self-respect or awareness that he's essentially being used (without his consent) for the GF's fetish rather then the other way around, and their 'friends' are enabling and encouraging it.

Tl;dr - the GF being a terrible person is hot and doesn't actually need to be changed for the narrative, the story needs to actually have characters recognize and respond to that semi-believably.

I would even add that giving a way out for MC is opening the road to a side story with that virgin girl I already forgot the name. Turning MC into the alpha and corrupt the virgin (and cuck her boyfriend) out of despise for women in general after what he experienced would add a psychological layer to the story.

What i sideways mentioned in the post and elaborated on in the Discord is a rough outline of what I think would be the more satisfying end - MC gets a promotion as recognition of his hard work (paying off how often the MC gets cucked due to working so much), but needing to move to take the position. maybe a different part of the city, but far enough away that he knows GF wouldn't do it due to being surgically attached to Michaels cock at that point.

Basically, give the MC an out where he is definitively doing better than before and can still interact with important characters. Then, he blocks and ghosts the GF and observes the fallout via mutuals and Social Media. Hell, make the moving out and promotion a chapter or two on it's own - GF is on a 'trip' with Michael, Michael sending 'innocent' to 'racy' pictures while Sabrina sends the actually spicy ones, and GF is making sideways references to what she and Michael are doing without actually stating it, all while MC fakes like he's still somewhat into it but hurt - but is actually arranging the move with his boss and family. Keep Sabrina in contact for the drama and so she can keep sending hot photos so GF can 'get you back' before that friendship self destructs - maybe even by seducing Olivia and dropping that bomb when Sabrina and the ex-GF think they're about to fix things.

Or you can reconcile with Sabrina, have her be thinking it was like when a woman so 'haha, no - but maybe' and that she thought you were actually into it but playing it off.

bonus points if you hurt Michael by revealing the truth to his bosses - if he's willing to do this to a 'friend', can you really trust him around your wives?
Bonus Bonus points if thats the point you also reveal to the Ex-GF that you knew almost from the start and were waiting for her to show even a hint of remorse.
