Actually the AI is not that bad, if you play with them like you would with another human being it poses a challenge, but only at the beginning. Since an IA is an IA, after a while playing with them you start to notice the patterns and how they behave and react to your actions, after that it gets easy to find a strategy to beat them. I'm not a programer, but in my opinion the only way to significantly improve the IA is if it had the capability to learn for itself, not an easy task I imagine, and since this is an eroge game and not an onlyne casino there's no point in doing so. Pontual improvements should be enough. And besides, a too smart AI, hard to beat, could piss of players. Maybe a diferent personality or game for each girl can do the trick?
Actually a mechanic that I was discussing to implement was to make the player lose affinity (extra option) and put a timer to prevent him to play with her again for a while when he is defeated instead
Timer is a good idea, it makes the MC play with other girls instead of focusing in only one, but losing afinity after a defeat, IMO not so much. Some kind of "femdom" punishment after a loss, for instance, looks better.
I know that you're in a very early stage development and are going go improve it over time, but here's some other ideas:
- Instead of rooms why not a big fancy casino? With every girl in a different table with a unique game.
- Start with a fixed amount of chips and with these chips you make bets and exchange them for "actions" and personalizations for your charachter and the girls, like costumes, hair colors and so on. And if you lose all you money there would be some sort of minigame to recover it.
And a last personal opinion: focus your work in the games and the sex, dialogues and character events are not so important right now. You see, I love card games, especially Blackjack, that's why you caught my attention, and for me in a game like yours the most important thing is to feel the rush in betting the chips, the cards is where I'am, and the sex scenes are only a prize. So developing a story and the characters seems unnecessary, honestly it does not match well with the genre.
