Forget why but i wanted to find a comment i made way back when and got distracted, decided to see my first comment on this game... ah the ignorance of youth...
I still have to agree with your old comment though, Chapter 1 is unnecessarily long (20 hours) and bloated with useless event and all the mysteries and happy events just feels like random gibberish, you only start to understand everything in Chapter 2 and by that point most people have already left

And I think Ayane half-jokingly mentions to sensei that there is a secret room in the school in the early game iirc
Yes, she specifically calls it her secret room she had installed using her dad's money but she never said what it was for.
(iIRC there is an event where she breaks down in Senseis arms as he is the only one who "cares enough")
Ayane's events, 'still young', chapter 1.

I'd rather disagree.

As a new player, I started this game to groom and fuck teenage girls and I got exactly what i expected. I skiped dialogs, confused Karin and Kirin and it was a perfect example of how to play this game wrong. But at some point game tought me that girls actually have personalities so I deleted "persistent" safe and started a new game.

And chapter 1 ultimately changed for me. I started getting to know characters and they were even more interesting that main story. It was kind of shock that they are real humans, not NPCs in computer game. I think, this is a real reason why I love this game so much: protagonist was not only changed, but he was changed with me and same way as me.

This game is a gem not because it is a good writen visual novel, but because the way it plays with player. When a choise with no choise pops on your screen and you make a bad decision and then you feel that you made a bad decision. When you don't care about something and understand it is important only when it is "too late". This is how chapter 1 works.

Right now I find the first chapter quiet interesting, much more interesting than second. Maybe I just haven't leran enough to understed what second chapter is. But netherless I think that if you don't like first chapter then you just not prepeared to it. You haven't learnt to love this girls yet. Fortunately there are lessons in love

Was replaying some of the Ch1 events, and man this cute green/yellow/red traffic light bestie group really has changed...:(

One has her "nothing matters but Sensei" true color more revealed, one gets less and less joyful, and one becomes more obsessively creepy with every passing second

A little afterthought about Maya is that, it's probably obvious in hindsight that she cares only about Sensei and cares little to none about others or even her so-called friends (at least not on a comparable scale at all); things she said to Sensei like “I help you because your existence unfortunately is tied to a short list of people I care” really is a tsudere response.

One thought I've had recently... not sure if I'd call it a concern, or a worry, necessarily, but I am curious how much content Sel's got planned for this game. Hearing "years" makes me apprehensive, because I guess I don't want the story to become too bloated, or meandering, you know? I've been a supporter for a while, and will continue to do so, but I do wonder sometimes if the story might end up getting to be too much if it goes for a looooong time
Same here, it's been almost 2 years since I made that comment and the story definitely meandered for a while. It feels like things are starting to tighten up a bit at least

Actually, now Bingoogus has me going back through the pages, finding all the regular commenters first posts in this thread, and seeing how their opinions have changed about the game over time. It's kind of interesting

In retrospect, there seems to be only 3 people Maya actually seems to care about and, surprisingly, Ayane does not make that list.

Maya obviously loves Sensei and Ami, but for some reason she seems to strangely care about Sana. I never really noticed it much, but there's a few times where she seems notably friendly towards Sana:

Everyone else Maya mostly seems to just tolerate, or abhor in Noriko's case. I could just be overthinking this though.

Not exactly my favorite, but that every girl that awakens (if not everyone) will be sacrificed to HOPE by Maya to free her, likely Akira/Sensei, and maybe Ami, from this world, in one of the endings. Or at least she'll think it'll free them.

Sensei might also be given the option to stop her, stay out of it, or help her. Then it'll go straight Blacksouls.

Might just be my Blacksouls trauma speaking, but I also do not trust Ami at all.
I haven't really changed much apparently.

Did Nikki there just let slip that she knows Akira jumped from the roof?

can someone please tell me what that image with Amy on senseis shoulders say

that cursive is murder on my barely english speaking ass
"And by came an angel who had a bright key, and he opened the coffins and set them all free; then down a green plain leaping, laughing, they run, and wash in a river, and shine in the sun.
Then naked and white all their bags left behind, they rise upon clouds and sport in the wind and the angel told Tom if he'd be a good boy he'd have God for his father and never want joy"

It's from William Blake's "The Chimney Sweeper" from "Songs of Innocence," specifically the 4th and 5th stanza.

On the left side of the picture, it simply says "Ami Arakawa, Niece Extrordinaire" and "Akira Arakawa, Human Shell"

Spirit Sekai is just watching/involved in both scenes.

Also Niki is referring to how Sensei's body jumped, like he got surprised by remembering something.
