Gyaru maids in Japan only exist in "Gyaru maid cafes," where every maid is gyaru. From a business perspective, they wouldn't blend well with the traditional maid theme.Considering Chika getting a new job and how Sel responded to the question "why Rin dyed her hair", the changes we've sneak peeked might just be a normal progression within the stories when at the same time welcoming the arrival of a season that Kumon-mi never has (here goes your normal I guess).
What I will not understand is why dyeing her hair black is a requirement from the maid cafe if such thing turns out to be true. C'mom! Classic gyaru maids! How very hot and fetishizable!
Gyaru are seen by many as loud and obnoxious, and maid cafes are about playing up the theme, which means pushing those traits to an extreme. That's great if you're really into it, but if you're in the maid cafe for the Uta or Ami-chan experience, and there's someone playing up the gyaru stereotype at another table, it's going to sour your experience.
