You know, for a self-confessed awful human being, the MC is getting deeply involved in the lives of all of these girls, isn't he?
I mean, it's funny... Well, not funny. But it's interesting, how much I've gotten sucked into all of these painful stories, quite separate from the see-girl-fuck-girl pattern of most h games (which Selebus teases us with very kindly). Sana, Rin, Futaba, Chika... Maya... Maya. I may be wrong, but I get the sense that the MC did something really awful to her in the first "life" that kicked off this hellish temporal loop/NO EXIT hell. What that was — whether he raped her, or betrayed her, or killed her, or killed/raped/betrayed her best friend Ami, or what, I don't know. She clearly knows him really, really well, though he's grown enough to surprise her occasionally. But as we go along, between her odd moments of candor and the wildly surreal, creepy-as-fuck "happy" scenes, I'm finding her bitterness toward Sensei more and more moving. And yeah — I think of Coraline too every time I see those eyes. :shudder:
Not sure what the end game here is. Not sure whether this is a one-way descent into hell/madness or there's a nirvanic escape hatch somewhere along the line. But I'm fascinated to see where it goes.
