But why won't content packs be pirated too? Personally one of the reasons I stopped supporting the game because the creator kept complaining about F95 & piracy while making $100,000+/year from the game. It does not look good and did not make me feel like he appreciated my money, especially when I make a fraction of that. Just make a good product and be a likable person that people want to support. That's how it was in the early days.
However, the main reason I stopped supporting was because he removed access to character cards and scenes for use in Koikatsu because someone was using them in their own game. But who cares? Why take away from supporters over that? People trying to make money off other people's assets aren't going to be creative enough to make a decent game and most people won't support people stealing assets anyway. If anything, that's free advertisement for LiS.
He already got $115 from me over the years. Content packs (AKA exclusive paywalled content) makes me less likely to support or care about the game. I just want to be able to play the game then go play with the girls in VR using Koikatsu again. That's what kept me supporting the game in the first year. Then I lost my Koikatsu cards due to a HDD failure, was denied getting them back, and just didn't feel like my support was appreciated at all. So I unsubbed. The way I see it is I paid $115 for those cards and I don't have them anymore.
If Selebus still reads these messages, if you want to regain past supporters, try going back to your roots. Stop caring about piracy and all that other nonsense because you can't stop it. Everything gets pirated. Most people frown upon exclusive paywalled content so I don't think exclusive content packs are the answer. Just make the best product you can and give your supporters extra out of game goodies like koikatsu cards, koikatsu scenes, fan request images, gravure sets, discord roles and channels, early access, etc.
