ah, just like real life

I kid, I doubt there are a lot of people that are messed up in the head like Ami or Nodoka
Nope. Ergo bottom tier for me. :)

Serious question: would the two of them--or even Sekai--be as screwed up in the head without the resets?

A really minor observation, but it came to my mind as someone commented recently that the number of happy events really lowered in chapter 4:

Don't know how to really put this into words, but I think the happy events were the way to see the backstage of the show, what twists and turns that began the creation of the show and how the show keeps running, basically reading lore but made weird because of akira or whatever forces behind it.

In chapter 1, the curtains weren't fully open yet, and I believe the happy events were meant to be glimpse into the twisted reality that awaited Akira upon going deeper into the depths, and now that we're already in too deep, the happy events is just now his new reality, which could be the reason why there are less of them now.

It could also be selebus not wanting to write a lot of happy events but that's a boring answer.

Of course this could always change, especially with the upcoming chapters where things will take a darker turn. It all depends on how the story will continue.

Yes

In serious though, the sekai family was already fucked from the start, one only really need to look at the family tree, the resets only really continued the madness and accelerated it to point of utter insanity. I'm not too sure about Nodoka's family, you'll probably have to wait for a lore expert on that part.

The problem with the resets is that it'll make anyone mad eventually, seeing the effects on Ami and Maya, the 2 main people we know that went through multiple resets. So it's unfair to fully blame the resets for their twisted thinking when both of them had twisted upbringing that led them to being the characters that we see in the game.

To be honest, this question is better suited for Barglenarglezous or DeSkel15 or Moonflare, cause I don't got the game knowledge to back up my yapping. My head is hollow on the inside when it comes to thinking about stuff like this.

True—Sekai groomed and abused her brother-in-law/possible half-brother. Definitely screwed up.

But if we take “Kyoto” as pre-reset objective reality, then she at least seems as if she is trying to create something like a happy, normal life for herself, her lover and their unborn child. The terrifying Sekai shows up not in memories but in visitations. Is that really Sekai? Or is that just another gods-and-reset-addled monster?

Man I feel like we will eventually have a program/mod for every annoying aspect selebus throws at this game and it will come as a bundle, recommended for every person to use before even touching the VN
When we get closer to doing something like that I might share my grindy save file too. I'm just holding onto it right now while we wait to see what other ridiculous grind requirements might happen.

this is a difficult question because "it all started way before you were born, on a house by a lake". The resets we're experiencing, as part of TERMINAL23, are just yet another series of events that already happened on TERMINAL22 (I don't recall if it was 22 or 21 - it's probably on the scene where Akira meets with Miu). My point is that Sekai, Akira and Nodoka (at the very least) are already victims of supernatural events before the start of LiL.

With the evidence thus far it seems likely that Sekai was groomed to be a version of Kaori (host to gods), and that the poor girl (Kaori) ended up being the perfect makeshift receptacle because Sekai (fully corrupted by that point) was inserted into her body. It's possible the same happened to Yuu (both Sekai's and Akira's father), and if so, it certainly fits with what Pareidolia warned Akira about (that he too would end up like Kaori, and his dad).

As for Nodoka, she seems to only have started being affected mentally (in terms of supernatural direct interference) during the events of TERMINAL23, but she was obviously very affected by dealing with the husk her mother left behind after the events of 22, both in having to take care of it, as pondering if her mother was right or everything was a delusion.
---------------------------------------------------------
Edit: This doesn't have to do with anything, but it's just such a great moment in the start of chapter 2 (Yumi has to give Akira a present for secret santa):

Hello there-

Wait, wrong character. Oh well. I just got caught up on this game, and can I just say...

FUCKING AMAZING GAME! Sana, Rin, Kirin and Chika are my faves (even if my favorite ex-gyaru turned rocker chick has gone...a "little bit" crazy).
A "little bit".
Understatement of the year.

You'll never avoid cliffhangers but I'd suggest playing the coming update, and then taking the break for the few months.

Next month's update is basically filler, and I'm sure nothing big is going to happen until the next maya / ami updates, and even then they'll probably not be that expository (I suspect that I won't get the answers I want about maya this update and I'd have to wait that long for them instead)

although...
After seeing all these previews I'll more then likely to yeah, far too curious about to avoid it now. Also what I meant by cliffhangers are like events being split (Unless that is something that is common then I really will have no choice) not necessarily an event being done with something happening that will be answered later in a separate event if that makes sense.
