I had a similar thing while playing Signalis. There is a puzzle in which you need to know what Pareidolia is. When I got to it I thought to myself "All the talk of perception and pareidolia in LiL has trained me for this very moment".

I actually highly recommend that game. Its a bit hard to explain why, but If you like LiL for a lot of the same reasons I do, mainly to do with the way things are presented to you I guess. Perhaps you would also like Signalis as much as I do. It's really a masterpiece in my opinion. Out of everything I have ever played I am tempted to call it my favourite, but the nostalgia buff some other games have makes that hard to do.
Bro, Signalis is a masterpiece. The soundscape, graphics, ambient storytelling, deep themes. 10/10, loved every minute of it. That three tone “boop, boop, beep” just pops up in my head from time to time out of nowhere, and I feel nostalgic every time.

I think I see a “t” between r and i in Friday, so Not Even in the Spring, maybe? Where is this from?
Last frame of Solar Eclipse where Kirin got intercepted by Chika.

edit: how did people spot this shit when playing?! It's barely fucking visible

I legit loved the game so much that after I got 100% completion I purchased It 3 more times because I wanted the devs to get more money out of me than the previous $70 slop game I had played. And that's not something I have ever felt like doing before.

Hell yeah, man. First thing I did after beating it was watch a multi hour long breakdown of the lore and it was glorious.

I wish LiL was more socially acceptable content, so we had people like our resident lore masters making 15 part 6 hour videos of the lore on YouTube for it. I’d eat that shit up.

The context of the conversation is that Tsuneyo is trying to remember what happened during the fifth reset. The initial questions are about the slumber party, and then the rest are about whatever supernatural experience she had after leaving the party. Sensei underwent a trial created by Pareidolia ("Untitled") and at least some of his companions also had trials, so it's plausible these questions come from Tsuneyo's own Pareidolia trial.

Also, immediately after the passage you quoted, we're shown red eye SeKaori arrive at the ramen shop.
And then the next event in the ramen shop, Wires claws his way out which causes Pareidolia to panic and quite literally piss himself.
I think Sekai/Pareidolia were taking advantage of Wires's absence to do something naughty with the ramen shop and/or Tsuneyo.

I'm not saying this is evidence for a Pareidolia connection, but it's certainly not inconsistent with one.
If I understand correctly, you are proposing that since Tsuneyo got weird after almost poking her nose into a reset set up by Pareidolia, what gibberish Tsuneyo said afterward was actually her own part of the trial. Hence, the "seeing with your eyes closed" she brought up would have to come directly from Pareidolia.
(I'll ignore the Sekaori part and Wires clawing his way out part as they provide nothing to the context above. Unless you can articulate on how they can prove/disprove anything, they remain something that did happen but were unrelated)

First is that we don't know if those unsettling questions really come from Tsuneyo's personal reset5 or if personal trial really is a thing even. Girls that haven't become a RAS member can barely recall events immediately before a reset with zero discrepancy, let alone remembering something during a reset. The way I see it, it's closer to Tsuneyo trying to dig up sensitive information but being stopped supernaturally. This absolves the necessary involvement of Pareidolia in the matter, as things go from "Tsuneyo reciting her trial questions prepared by Pareidolia" to "Tsuneyo being halted by a certain divine power".

I am not saying my interpretation is more correct and I am not saying that the aforementioned certain divine power cannot be Pareidolia (though I will say that it's very unlikely to be Pareidolia considering its performance in TH15 15NT ME; the third god clearly has little to no power here in Tojo Ramen). The point is, the necessary bridge that connects "seeing with your eyes closed" and Pareidolia is not the only option on the table and is far from being the most possible one either. I personally get fixated on this type of thing frequently because most of the time we only have moon logic or false causality to back ourselves up whenever we claim A is connected to B, all because this fucking game won't give any clear hint. The least I'd do is to make sure that what is proposed is either the only possibility or the most possible option by a significant margin, and I don't see that being the case here.

Second is that, are we 100% sure that reset5 is hosted by Pareidolia? Did I overlook something? Is it because of Sekai hiding on the roof right before reset5 ended? (which, by the by, is something I also don't understand. How does this Pareidolia-Sekai connection come to be?)
To me Untitled reeks of HOPE. We have: youdidit, amiokay, we have that warning of "taking something that does not belong to you before the summer end". All of these are heavily associated with HOPE, not just in wishful symbolism but in actual context. One really needs to really get around these before certifying Pareidolia's presumed presence in Untitled.

TLDR is that I think your argument doesn't really bring "seeing with your eyes closed" and Pareidolia any closer and makes the phrase become a saying exclusive to the third god, which is all I am on about. I don't think it is impossible for a previous "seeing with your eyes closed" and Pareidolia to coincide, but that never guarantees "as soon as we see this phrase, it means Pareidolia is in the play".

Damn, you guys convinced me to try out Signalis in just three short posts, luckily enough I haven't been spoiled about it, I saw it show up a few times. Whenever I finish it, I'll say my review of it.

Edit: I should've clarified, whenever I get that game, I'm going to be making logs every 30 minutes in my notepad, afterwards, at the end I make a review. Basically delayed offline reaction.

Any character in fiction (or literature in general) would inevitably bear resemblance to its own author due to aesthetic contextualization. Just think about how drama started from mimesis of rituals. Though the artificiality and self-insertness, which were intendedly and tirelessly emphasised throughout LiL, did separate LiL from other non-Japanese VNs. All of intense overflow of self-consciousness and mockery constantly reminds me of Nabokov who in an interview, seemed to be spitefully and consciously polemical against Bakhtin's famous theory on polyphonic nature of Dostoevsky's novels, said that idea that "characters getting out of hand is nothing but a trite little whimsy" and his characters under disposal are "galley slaves". It wouldn't surprise me even a bit if those words came from mouth of Selebus.
I think the main thing which may differentiate our analysis is that I perceive an immense love from Selebus for his characters. Although they go through horrible things, that is because he is under the belief that people need to go through horrible things to grow. A very classic thesis:antithesis situation where the thesis is strengthened by the antithesis. Furthermore, the dev commentary shows that Selebus relates to Rin's depression, and Futaba's lack of self-worth; it is unlikely to me he would be disparaging them as galley slaves when he is using them to tell his own story indirectly. It's for this reason I would also expect the love for characters to be a representation of self-love, and this self-love could crystalize in a certain wholeness of being coming about.

(Note: A very fascinating bit of psychology is that self-hate is closely related to self-love. Often those who proclaim to hate themselves, in fact, love themselves more than anything; even someone utterly convinced they hate themselves may in fact be total narcissists. Not to lobby that accusation at Selebus, just it's something to keep in mind; irony is, after all, the song of a prisoner who has come to love their cage, and when trapped in a prison it's hard not to develop intense affection for all its nuances.)

Honestly, re:Lolita, I seem to recall Selebus saying he hates reading books and hasn't read a book in like 10 years (due no doubt to his aphantasia), so I shy away from intensely literary reads like this one. It would not surprise me if when literature comes up in LiL it was researched lightly beforehand on Wikipedia rather than being based on his own reading. Which, I really want to stress, is not an insult or backhanded spite from me; it's important for a character like Nodoka to be making literary references and allusions, and if he doesn't have that knowledge off-hand it's good to research it. Anyway, therefore I would be pretty stunned if there was any amount of thought put into LiL being a 'visualization of Nabokov's literacy tools and manipulation,' although the comparisons are definitely there for us to read into. (And let there be egg on my face if this read is totally off.)

That said, I haven't read Invitation to a Beheading, and that sounds fascinating. Will definitely read it - thanks for bringing it up. Actually, it seems so similar I might really have egg on my face regarding the above comment. This reminds me of the story The Egg by Weir which I was convinced was the Egg allusion in LiL until I discovered it was actually a Wonder Egg Priority reference. Check out its plot to get very anxious very fast.

As for Maya, we must understand that Selebus loves cats. I myself didn't really understand all the allusions to Maya being a 'stray cat' in Kumon-mi and stuff. If I were to turn a cat into an anime girl, I would not know where to begin: what behaviors she would display, what the allegory would be, etc. It's only because Selebus loves cats so much and has such a deep affinity for them that he could craft Maya as a cat-figure, and I start to understand her role as the cat who sticks with Sensei no matter how depressed he gets, etc. Therefore I would be quite surprised if he had any 'malice' for her. But I may just be dull to these things.

It also says "i've never believed in bunnies" in the bottom right corner.
So "not even in the spring -- i've never believed in bunnies". I'm not sure what its trying to say though.

Stomachache and his comparing himself with a rabbit came to mind. Dunno if there's a distinction between rabbit and bunny, tho.

I wish going to a character's page and looking at their events would also list main events where they appear. Been playing this game for years and it's hard to remember certain character's events.
Some way to display them would be nice but mixing them would fuck things up more than it'd help. Every character's current events appear in [name]events.rpy or in the relevant dorm(2)events.rpy based on where you start the event. Forcing them to mix means having to figure out which script / inappropriatecontent / chap / chap(x)generics.rpy things could be in. Also Ami would basically have every event in her list.
