Man, for a game called Lessons in Love, there doesn't seem to be much love in it.

Hope things get a little more happier, to much darkness makes me apathetic aand I stop caring.

She really took the veil.... Love your username, I am apparently in good company here.
You are the first person in 12 years of using the username to tell me they recognise it. I suppose it's apt in this discussion as he jumps off a bridge in an attempt to return to his drug induced dream world :ROFLMAO:

Sensei does love the girls in his own way; he cares about their well-being, with the exception of their education. Sure, it's not the kissy-kissy-lovey-dovey kind of love, but love is there.

Things becoming happier? Well, let's just say it's going to be a while before that happens.

To name a few things: Incredible writing (this has been confirmed by many people, so it is not just one man opinion, it is common), inspiration (I have been personally motivated by his work to make my own VN, there is many more people like me), very good contact with community, either here or discord
Indeed the writing IS good, It can make me laugh for like 5 minutes after reading a single sentence during a dialogue, that often takes so much of my time that I ended up going to bed at 2a.m
just didn't expect it to be THAT good

Selebus is an adult game creator but not only that, some people also view him as sort a inspirational poetic author and quote his sayings to their signatures...
what did Lebus even do to get that title ?
Dude/dudette, Selebus is a great writer. It's like he's a full-time writer with a side hustle in porn just to make enhance his writing. The "writing" part is the main dish, the "adult game" is just a tasty side.

And yes, that may seem unappetizing for a porn game, but try LiL out. I promise that you won't regret it. You'll just be absorbed into the game soon enough :)

It is a Denpa game, so not likely for a very long time and, if it even happens at all, it may only be in an ending. The Denpa genre is known for this kind of thing.

Sure, as long as it gets him in their pants, though he does seem to be slowly starting to develop something real. I hate to say it because I still hate the guy as if he was someone I personally know and despise, but I think he might be getting to a point where hating him is starting to get harder. He feels like he's getting redeemed slowly over time. That could just be me, though.

Indeed the writing IS good, It can make me laugh for like 5 minutes after reading a single sentence during a dialogue, that often takes so much of my time that I ended up going to bed at 2a.m

Considering the quality of some projects on here, where the majority go for the opposite approach, sex scenes prioritized vs story prioritized, that's not surprising that you didn't expect it to be this good. I didn't expect it either because the normal quality I find on here lead me to consider this at that level as well, an expectation I am ashamed even occurred to me for this game because of how good it really turned out to be.

That's my favorite part about the game as a whole, it is a completely different experience from games that prioritize the sex part to have it reversed like this. Good sex scenes can do wonders, but good writing can make or break the whole game even with good sex scenes. A game can have good sex scenes and the most horrifying writing, in terms of quality, on the planet and the game would still technically be okay at best IF it manages to balance out between the two. However, with great writing, the sex scenes can be good or bad and the game can still easily hit the great mark.

This one has both at great level, which obviously puts it at the great mark overall by default. On top of that, Selebus cared enough about the writing to make sure that the sex scenes would not clash with it, meaning distract from the writing, by making only repeatable variants use animation. Some might consider that lazy, some might consider that bad, I consider it a bonus to the quality of the overall work because he went the extra mile to make sure the writing got the attention it deserves.

Then might as well not play anymore, cause that sounds not really interesting.

Too much edgyness can make one stop caring, might as well go watch videos of dying puppies.

Well call me edgy but I do not think the horror bits are as you describe them. Sure, they are creepy, but, at least for now, they add mystery to the story more than they freak me out

Never said they were creepy. They're just there and make little sense.

What I mean is if the story is gonna be nothing but characters suffering left aand right without anything to hope for, then there's no real reason to get invested much.

Darkness induced audience apathy happens a lot.

They make little sense right now because we are at the very beginning of the game, this game is not even close to finished despite what the number says, they'll make sense as things start to come together. Also, I never said there was zero chance. The main story of the game is like two sides of a coin. On the one you have the light-hearted events, on the other you have the doom and gloom. Both are the main story with the light stuff being what is happening on the surface while the doom and gloom simmers underneath, unknown to the characters until it comes out via certain character events and in the 'happy' scene events.

The only person who ever knows the full story before the rest of us would be the developer himself once he is on the final build, but before he releases it. Without the full story, things are going to make little sense. For most of us, it actually piques our interest and is the reason some of us theorize what will happen to varying degrees of success.

Suffering and not having happier events are not the same, they can happen separately or together. In this case, they are only suffering now because there is no way to help them get out of their mental situation now. That will likely change even if things don't necessarily become sunshine and rainbows. It could mean that they no longer suffer from their issues, like Rin overcomes her depression, but they still feel long term aftereffects from it because they were afflicted for such a long time. It could be that they never get cured, but the MC is there to stop things from getting worse. At this point, nobody knows how it will happen, only what the common path of a Denpa game means for the possibilities presented in this one in particular.

I've been at this game for a while, I didn't really have any interests in the game at first glance but quickly fell victim to in love with it afterwards.

The script is opposite of plain and boring, it always livens up the dialogues and often shows the inner thoughts of Sensei,
the characters feel alive and real, what they say can be felt and relatable,
the amount of texts is just right to read and not skip through,
the hex figures, "out of context" events and randomly deformed images can cause me paranoia,
contains some deep quotes about the interesting view point about this world,
wording is realistic and practical, plenty of jokes to laugh at......

-that's page 1 of 5 (I can go on for more)-

So anyway, good job Lebus
....
Can I call you Lebus ?
