Anyone know any other games similar to LiL that I can play in the mean time while I wait for the next update? I can't find anything decent and L4D2 can't sustain me for that long.

Have you tried BlackSouls? It's an RPG based on Dark Souls. It has H-Scenes and that dark touch LiL has.

I cannot fathom how you can have engaged with the conversation for this long and still not grasped anything about what is happening. The nsfw will still exist and not be impacted. You know what Sel did? He sacrificed a month of updates to otherwise very consistent ones to keep 70% of his revenue and is now less restricted because of it.

Same goes for how you still haven't figured out the relationship between f95 and devs.

The relationship is simple. We are a pirate site. We play the games, and some of us will support them if we like them through either reviews or word of mouth. And some people will pay money to the developers and actually buy the games we like. (Oh and the developers get to see what people think of their stuff through reading through our threads if they want.)
This is basically free advertising for developers and we have a large community for adult-oriented products, they know that and that's why they stick around. - because we make them money and help spread their games around.

heh. not sure. honestly I think putting in the patch notes that sex would be removed from the game was a bad move - it should have been made clear - straight off at the top - that the sex was here to stay, and that this is a concession for the people running patreon being unconscionable pricks. Honestly if I were the dev, I wouldn't even post that 'non-sex' version here at all.

Instead we have confusing patch notes and people are making their displeasure known.

You haven't done the happy event "The Letter T", which is a requirement for Rewrite. What you need to do to unlock that one is go to the dorms, go to knock on a door, and then go home.

Also, here is something I noticed about what choices you've made that is technically a spoiler, I'll let you decide whether you want to look at this or remain unspoiled:
You broke your promise to Rin not to go after Chika before Rin makes her move, and Rin isn't going to be happy when she finds out: it changes her dialogue for the remainder of the game, and you miss out on two events of hanging out with her because she doesn't trust you as much anymore. To avoid this, you need to not do Chika's event "Schadenfreude" until Rin confesses to Chika.

Yes I agree, making the 2 version is probably the best outcome one could get. That said it is kinda hilarious how so many people don't see the 2 versions but only the SFW one lol. Selebus should keep on doing his absolutely good work and deserves every support.

honestly I suspect that the people at patreon know exactly what goes on. (or maybe they don't, it's entirely plausible that they are idiots - i'd believe it) Basically patreon wants 'plausible deniability'. The same thing almost happened to OnlyFans recently. Evidently their credit card processing company was pressuring OnlyFans that they wouldn't work with OnlyFans if they didn't remove the sex content from the OnlyFans site - what eventually happened is OnlyFans realized that almost all of their revenue stream was from sex content, and so they gave the big middle finger to that credit card payment processor and found another one.

IMO - This is what developers should do to Patreon. Give Patreon the middle finger and go to a payment processor that will let you work freely. Sure it will hurt a bit in the short run, but it's like cutting off a limb that is infected with gangrene, once you do it, the rest of the body will be much healthier.

(and yes - I did just make a reference that compared Patreon to Gangrene, I feel like it's appropriate considering what Patreon has been doing to the adult community the last few years).

Piracy is not a problem at all. most people who want something and enjoy it, will likely throw money at that thing if they are able (people tend to support the things they like). And I personally do throw a lot of money at games which I enjoy. - just over the month of december I tossed nearly 500$ at various developers for games. Granted, some of that was a christmas thing, but still, it's a regular expenditure, I support the things I like.

There are a lot of people who are either too poor, or are otherwise unable to actually buy these things, but that doesn't mean their patronage (even illicit patronage) is not good for advertising. Personally I view piracy as a service that fills a hole in the market. And it can even be beneficial to developers trying to get their stuff into the public view.

- take a look at a little game called Valheim that came out last year, that game had no advertising, and was just spread through word of mouth - and I pirated it before I ended up buying a copy. But guess what? Pirates have friends too. And word of mouth made that game blow up and the devs are now multi-millionaires in under a year, even after taxes and fees each developer who worked on that game has made enough money that they never have to work again if they don't want to. That is the power of word-of-mouth advertising. You make something really good, the community WILL respond.

Also this is a great way to get an honest opinion about their work. People who get an item for free, and have no expectation to pay, are less likely to fall for the 'sunk cost fallacy' (it's a psychological effect that takes place where people will unconsciously want to justify their spending even if it might have been a poor choice).

Pirates don't have any of these hangups. If we like something, we say we like that thing, if we don't like something, we say we don't like it. So what devs get is HONESTY - not fanboys. And honest feedback is a very valuable thing.

Of course you are welcome to your opinion. Unless you live somewhere that you can be jailed for your opinion, in which case I feel sorry for you. (get a VPN)

Sex Sells.

Sex games are another hole in the market in many ways. And if you make a good sex game, and can update it even semi-regularly with sex scenes, that's a market that will respond, and it will be profitable. And the beauty of sex is that there is a huge variety of things people like, and a lot of different holes that need filling. So there's plenty of ways to keep that revenue flowing.

But sex is also regularly attacked by the prudish busy-bodies in society, and it's also attacked by people who can't understand that what happens in a game is just a fantasy, and has zero bearing on real life. (moral crusaders who commonly object to rape content and such) So sex gets attacked a lot. This is why sex games are more often pushed to sites like this to try to get people interested. And also why there are so many demo's and such that are released. Nothing is perfect.

But the market remains, and where there is money to be made, someone will come along with a product to fill that niche.

I believe you are trying to run the NSFW version with the uncensored patch so it's finding the "Nudes" thingy twice. You could try delete'ing it from your "game" folder but tbh, just remove the "Scripts" folder from the "Game" folder and you should be alright.

I will say that these are valid reasons for when piracy can be a good thing but it's still not an ideal situation. People pirate when it's more convenient and for adult games given the current circumstances it basically always is more convenient.

This is one of the reasons I object so strongly to places like Patreon. That website has done a lot over the last few years to damage the adult game industry. I personally can think of many developers who were banned because of the changes in their policies concerning adult content. And the ONLY way to stop that from happening is if people stop using the Patreon service entirely. Don't pay companies to abuse you.

Eg: A guy spends $100 on OnlyFans and his wife sees the credit card statement and asks what it is, and he is just like "uh..... um.... my credit card must have been stolen!!"

Or alternatively somebody spends $1000 on some OnlyFans model, gets a nude picture or something, then regrets it and disputes it with the payment processor and claims it was fraudulent. Fraud claims cost everybody in the whole payment chain a lot of money.

There are alternative payment processors that will take these sorts of payments, but they charge a LOT more. A typical payment processor charges around 3%. These can charge 15-20% because they lose so much money from fraud. When your ENTIRE revenue is porn (OnlyFans), this is necessary. When you have other non-porn income (Patreon) you have to decide if that sort of fee increase is worth it. These services also do not offer their services to small companies or individuals so a single developer could not choose this option anyway.

Patreon (the company) really does not care if you game has porn or whatever. They will leave it up until the banks complain. And there is no avoiding the banks. Even if the developer quit Patreon and set up their own website. They would need to use a service to process payments. Their options are basically Stripe, Paypal, Braintree, or maayyybbe Square. Guess what? All 4 of those companies are backed by the same banks with the same rules. (Patreon themselves use Paypal and Stripe.)

Thanks for the clarification! Linus Tech Tips had a part in their weekly show once about this topic and they did mention the fee problem, but evidently OnlyFans was able to find a processor that didn't charge much more at all, it was something like 2-4% more than they were paying before, so it wasn't really that bad and ended up working out well for OnlyFans. - they got to keep their porn (which is pretty much all of their content) and the upcharge for switching payment processors was much smaller than anyone expected.

I can't remember the name of the payment processor OnlyFans switched to, but i'm sure it could be found pretty easily with a bit of google-fu.

This is another reason why piracy is a good thing for the industry, because people get to SEE what they would be paying for, before they pay for it. So when a pirate does choose to pay, they know exactly what they are paying for and are less likely to do a charge-back. Sure you don't get to sucker people in as much, but it also means the people who do pay, are much more likely to not give you grief over what they paid for - the pirate that pays likes what they are paying for and is doing it to support the stuff they like, or they wouldn't pay for it.
