Respecting the wishes of the author is being a rabid fanboy? But thankfully the individuals that aren't rabid fanboys are willing to help out.
I have a thought on this theory. If correct, it is probably designed to be most horrible for those players who are of a certain age, who most likely have had children. I can't help but relate to this as a father of two, grandfather of four. There's also the fact that Sensei's revulsion to the idea of becoming a father is a central component of his personality that is addressed repeatedly throughout the story, which is a stupid character detail to add unless it's somehow relevant, and honestly, I think it's far more relevant than JUST the Ayane situation.
The game repeatedly brings up pregnancy as something that makes Sensei uncomfortable. At one point it's described as a feeling of physical illness. One of the "spooky" moments has a crying child playing in the audio. When a girl uses pregnancy or breeding as a sexy roleplay thing, it immediately turns him off.
Chekov's Gun: If you create a detail and constantly draw attention to it, it has to be relevant.
We have the flashback scene where Sensei and Maya where Maya talks about them both hating babies. A scene that takes place on the rooftop. And the rooftop is only used as a location immediately prior and during a reset.
Pregnancy is a core theme, and there's a very real possibility it was a pregnancy that prompted Sensei to jump off the roof at the start of the game.
Speculation: I very strongly suspect that all this is tied together. The rooftop is important to the story because that was where Sensei and Maya met up, and very likely where he impregnated her. And when he found out, where he jumped from.
And thus, it's where he's drawn when it's time to end a cycle and begin a new one. And anyone carrying his child is also drawn there.
This is why Maya's INCREDIBLY bitter about having to repeat the same 3-4 months over and over again, because it's the first half of a pregnancy that never ends. Infinite morning sickness. This would explain why she eats 2-3 times as much as the other girls. And most of the time when she's shown with a watermelon, she's holding it like a pregnancy belly. Since she was pregnant before this process began, when the world resets, she gets reset to early in the pregnancy, and remains on the roof.
But Ayane was no longer pregnant because her restore point, so to speak, is pre-pregnancy, so when the reset ends, she poofs back to where she should be.
It also makes me curious about the other time we see one of the girls on the roottop (Bluejay). This was a bit earlier before the reset of that cycle, so that could very well be an exception, but pregnancy+rooftop+jump feels awfully.....loop-like. And someone intervened pretty heavily in that scene to put her back on the roof, so it's possible her pregnancy was undone at that point by whoever intervened.
None of these games are "fappable" to me. If that's what I'm interested in, I turn to actual porn.So does this game still manage to be fappable as you go on or does it get too creepy? I've played it a few hours now and had a few creepy things happen so far.
It's kinda strange, like I feel I shouldn't fap to it for some reason.
Yeah. When I realized what I'd done, I went back to a pre-event save and made different choices. That first run, I didn't realize how where you are in one path has an effect on another's path. The creepy parts dont bother me at all.... the fact that i broke girls heart by making another one fall in love with me does... that one fucking hurts even me.
A little bit, yeah? Especially when it comes to defending deliberately making the game inaccessible for disabled individuals. People should be able to play games how they can, author's preferences be damned. This website isn't his personal discord, so there's no reason to censor solutions here. If he doesn't like t he idea of people doing things differently than he intended, then he shouldn't sell or release the game to the public.Respecting the wishes of the author is being a rabid fanboy?
I mean in description and not behind 7 spoilers. I bet most people didn't read that much info when downloading and it can hurt them even after seeing disclaimer in game. These scenes are really intense and I'm sure most people don't expect something like this.There... literally is? It's one of the first screens in the game. Start up a new file if you don't believe me.
I don't have any problems on mine and I don't think I can help but maybe others can since they're good at thisWhy can't i save in joiplay?
It's literally the third frame.I mean in description and not behind 7 spoilers.
Sound like their own problem.I bet most people
The disclaimer is literally right off the bat. You download the game, see the disclaimer, and then say "ah, guess I shouldn't play this".I mean in description and not behind 7 spoilers. I’m not sure where you’re getting the username from, but presume it’s from the wiki guide as you linked to that.So how do I getYou must be registered to see the links?
I tried going back to a save at that terminal and my Maya affection is at 200, and I entered in the usernameand it says invalid username. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
???
To be clear, I've gotten past that event the 'normal' way.
Also, what other usernames yield interesting events? Apparently there are some.
What is the most confusing aspect of the game so far for you guys (and gals)? We've all got theories and i'd love to hear them (makes the wait interesting).
Watch it be at the end one of the characters in an insane asylum imagining all this.I think Sensei's past is the linchpin to unravelling the most mysteries. What was his relationship like with Amy's mother, and his brother? What happened with him and Maya and Noriko (what happened with Nikki seems fairly evident at this point)? I think the answer to these questions would help explain a lot. I also think what's in the boxes Maya has Sensei carry could clear up some stuff.
On the other hand, there are others I think it wouldn't help us answer. Such as 'what is buried beneath our feet?' or 'just how many "gods" are there screwing with us, and what do they want?'
There've been a lot of theories about all these things throughout the forum. Personally I think Amy's mother was significantly older than Sensei, and took advantage of him. I think he and Maya were definitely in a relationship prior to the cycles starting. I think there was a tragedy beyond the accident that took Amy's parents from her, which involved at least Maya and Sensei. Whether or not either or both died/came close to dying and are on some kind of life support I'm not sure. Whether or not pregnancy is involved somewhere - again, I'm not sure. I feel like there's potential for Sensei's relationship with Amy to not be Uncle/Niece, but I'm not sure.
As to the gods, I think there's at least 3 we've heard about - "Hope", the god of wires, and Yasu's eyeless god who at one time had plentiful eyes. Nozomu might be a 4th. I have no clue what any of them want. Nor do I have a guess, yet, what's under our feet. Also no guesses as to what's in the boxes.
In the end, it's hard to feel sure about anything, because the clues are obscure, and they come in bits and pieces, but there's enough to make you feel like it's slowly coming together. I also feel like there's connections I could be making and aren't - either because I don't know enough information about Japanese culture, or other similar knowledge gaps.
Anyway, that's my current take on things.
