I have and I have to say I very much like the rework. Although I too find that the niece minigame felt forced and out of context but I'm pretty sure the latter was the intended effect.
Still, either from outdated memory or just because i haven't played in a while, it does feel pretty good and much more in line with what I expected from the newer, later chapter events.

Wait, what? Did you try to load a previous save to test it? Maybe it's bugged?
EDIT: Okay, I tested it myself. Loaded my save from the previous version and some repeatable sex scenes are indeed gone. I'm not sure if it's intended, but since I haven't gone too far on the reworked version, I'm guessing those scenes were tied to some of the new events? If not, and if they were intentionally removed for some reason, then yeah, that really sucks.
This is not true, as Komi is still working on it, at the very least, posting up images and some vids showing new material in his Discord, but that has nothing to do with LiL...
A question for the more active players of this: I played an older version and eventually dropped it because I disliked the MC more and more as the game went on. Does he actually get better? Did the rework change him at all in that aspect?
I get that he's suppose to be unlikable and such, but it made it hard for me to enjoy the game after awhile.
Not really, he has moments where it seems like he does, but then he goes into yet another horrifying stunt later. The rework did not, at least intentionally, change characters from who they were, it was only meant to slow the pace down and better the flow of chapter 1. If he got changed at all, it would likely make him worse morally.
Whenever she is ready to accept it in the story...or whenever Sensei has one of his 'truly terrible teacher' moments and does it by force, whichever comes first.
You can do a full restart or you can continue, it is up to you. The rework was for chapter 1 and did affect the story in that section, but chapter 2 is unaffected.

what do I need to do to get a clean re-start? Even if I unzip to a new folder, the game still uses the existing saves and not the one empty folder in the game directory.

You can completely ignore any save data and just go into a new game, nothing carries over between saves, or you can go into the appdata folder for the game and delete the saves there as well. I don't remember the file path.
Well, I think he's not exactly "removed" the events, he just put them on computer where you can watch them (saturday or sunday morning). They are no longer canon too and just left there for history reasons.
I am more concerned with new events that we totally missed on our saves, I am sure they are grayed out (dont know exactly since I dont have time to play it yet), so, how to "ungray" them?
Quite a way away. We are getting pretty close to "darker times", after that there will be purity routes for every girl and then the end. About 5 years left if all goes with the 2 updates per month tempo. He was not mentioned this, but by that math the end would be at ~v0.80.0 or something.
Don't be fooled, even if he might be nicer (haven't checked because I had to leave town the next day for a week and didn't have time to start over), that is only setting up players to be hit harder later.

I mean, the pre-rework game was, too, so this isn't a surprise. Some come in here thinking it must be a porn game because it is on F95 or because there is sex in it, some come in and completely blindsided when they miss the horror tag and run into the Denpa element of the game. This is just a game for a very specific audience, that's the way it was since day one and the way it will always be.

Nope, I came in for the sex originally and stayed for the story alone, Selebus could make this game entirely a SFW kinetic novel and still keep me around with only the story. That's coming from someone who turns away at the mere mention a novel is kinetic in nature, I would rather just read a book if I don't get choices.
I guess the impasse here is I don't really see Sensei as a representation of the player, he's entirely his own character. That Ami scene is about /Sensei's/ twisted feelings (along with some Decryption Horror foreshadowing). Again, the meta-y stuff feels more like a filter and not "The Point". But I digress. I suppose I'm just looking at this game through an entirely different lens.
In fact, becoming a representation of the player is exactly what he SHOULDN'T be doing. Selebus wrote Sensei as a character to be hated, plain and simple. You don't write a character the player is meant to put themselves in as one to be hated.
I dunno if something like this already exists, but it'd be cool to have a mod that (with a click of a button or something) will convert Hex to ASCII or Bin to ASCII. This way I wouldn't have to clip the image, OCR it, then run it through a converter online.
The rework seems to remove all nudity and H scenes in the first chunk of the game. I played 7 hours and I haven't even seen a nipple. Given the same path, I would have had 3 or 4 scenes before the rework.
I get he wants the girls to have more of a buildup, but it's gone too far. It's just boring when you need 20 hours of dialogue before you even make a tiny amount of progress. The biggest problem is that it's mostly filler dialogue, not meaningful dialogue. The game is huge already and most girls still don't have much going on in the romantic department. Now with this update he's delayed the ones we did have until much further into the game. I just don't see that being a smart decision for drawing in new supporters. People will play this game first for the H scenes. Character attachments, story, and hardcore fans come later. You need breadcrumbs to build that dedication but this rework removes them.
There is no reason why a couple of the girls shouldn't be easier to get with. That's realistic. The fact we have to progress on every girl, even ones we don't care for, make this matter worse. It makes the beginning of the game incredibly boring cause you basically have to get to know 10 girls through 50+ hours of mostly filler dialogue, then when you are finally done, another 10 show up and you repeat it.
So far, not a fan of the rework. This game had so much potential but it's 95% filler dialogue, 4% meaningful dialogue, and 1% H game. I really hope chapter 3 kicks this into a higher gear otherwise I will probably cancel my $5 tier. At the rate this is going, this game is going to be 50GB by the time we can H most girls.
The pacing was rushed in that section, leading to there being sex and nudity where there, at least as far as the story, should not have been. This is heavily story focused and that is what he was bringing the first chapter back around to, it started with far too heavy a sex focus like some sort of porn game (he has specifically stated this is not a porn game).
I still think she got subjected to the puzzles he gets, that we have to solve at chapter ends usually, and failed to solve them, but here's where things merge, maybe she was getting too close and these 'gods' subjected her to more difficult puzzles as a direct result of how close she was getting.
Yep, I reloaded earlyer save (not the "there is nothing" one) so that I could skip a day, and yep, they appeared as completed. Still, there is a lack of repeatable blowjob scenes. I really want to know the answer for that.
