Ami was never actually in an orphanage, she and Akira were living together immediately after the accident. In the imouto-off she mentions an orphanage but that's part of a roleplay.
Where does it say they were living together immediately after the accident?

I'm not super sympathetic to this perspective due to all the miscellaneous ways in which one can lock themselves out of the green path. Off the top of my head, picking 'kill Kirin' is arguably a pretty malicious/degrading action, yet it blocks off one of her events. So you need to be conscientious to stay on green path, not the opposite. I feel like the only reason Green path even exists as we know it is because of Selebus's professed completionism autism for always 100%ing a visual novel (many such cases among weebs). I expect it would also punish people treating the game more seriously / with more immersion (for example: those who accept being a bad homie instead of reloading to alter their action to avoid consequences), while rewarding primarily URM-users and completionism autists, so it wouldn't cleanly accomplish the artistic goal of forcing players to degrade themselves. That said, I definitely wouldn't be surprised if green path did end up being necessary, it just doesn't seem super likely to me right now.
I'm honestly terrified that another choice we made earlier in the game or the order we played certain events will lock us out of the green path later. The good homie/bad homie thing was ridiculous, you have to leave schadenfreude sitting there for quite a while to stay green. I really hope that doesn't happen again.

Given Selebus's professed love of harsh consequences and surprising players with them, I WOULD expect more stuff like good/bad homie, but... in the past 4 years he really just hasn't done it again? I don't really get it. I wonder if the complexity of writing/programming branches supersedes his love of trolling players. IDK

I don't know if it's outright stated, but I'm assuming it based on Ami's memories in "Worry Not, The Mason Jar" in which she took care of Akira when he was catatonic after the accident. I doubt Akira would have been in any shape to get her from an orphanage during that period.

Edit: That period was also the subject of her poem "My Life With You".

I don’t like using URM if I don’t have to since I’m an idiot, but at least if things go fully tits up, we can always use it to fix whatever bullshit is flung at us by the artistic manchild writing our favorite/most loathed VN.

Considering how impossible the puzzles are without a guide, as Sel, as an author lowkey kinda mandates you google his game, I don't think an ability to fail (to be a good person really, or try to be in some small way) is a concern of his. I'm willing to go so far to say that even though I am green path (because I believe this, not because I want to be) the fact that I'm a good homie (by accident) may scrub me from being able to get the good endings

"Heeeeey, Miku. How was your penis?" NICE JOB, MAKOTO! HAHAHAHAHA!
Futa Miku confirmed.

WHAT! cousin!?
I forgot that reveal was THAT early. I thought it was somewhere in the Chapter 3.

HOLY FUCK! The game literally closed! Okay that's a new one! I guess don't say no to cheering Maya up twice or the game will literally shut down.
Oh, I remember that part. It was fucking amazing. Especially on my old pc, when I had to wait for 2 minutes for game to open.

And Wakana overdosing on something to hide her own pain... Well, at least she's not dead... I hope. And now I got annoyed at myself because I had a very slight chuckle, great. This isn't funny.
She wanted to die, so she died. Logic! xddd

Is the mc like 6.4 or something? Tsuneyo is tall but he is like half a foot taller.
Well, Sensei is adult male, so it is obvious he is way taller than his students.

scared ejaculation!
Best way to cum, you know? Getting not only the semen out of you, but shit as well. (Not in literal way)

Why did Io lose her position in your tierlist?..

I only got through two events this morning, got to sleep and work ya know that crappy adult stuff. Moonie might have mentioned this before but if you read that first one with Ami as she knows what's going on then it's kinda frightening. I started thinking during it, what if she killed sensei or somehow broke him right before this loop. Scary girl.

Oh, did you just start another playthrough too? I know you mentioned it. I’ve only gotten through the first day, and next up is the first sleepover.

But yeah, doing it all over again while knowing stuff about Ami makes everything hit different.

I'm willing to bet money that to get to any of the happy endings you're going to have to have a play through where you do all the bad things
It's just green path you'd have to worry about, there are some good things too like not fucking Chika too early so Rin can confess. Don't tell someone to their face that you'd kill them rather than fuck or marry them.

I'm honestly terrified that another choice we made earlier in the game or the order we played certain events will lock us out of the green path later. When I was untangling my ridiculous save file I wanted to see how far I could strain that choice. I believe you actually can see Schadenfreude before Rin asks you to not go too far with Chika (and I think there's some in-scene dialogue if you have too). Game is straight up unfair at times.

It does help that there aren't that many choices you can make in the game that have flags that are remembered but haven't been acted on. Right now the only thing that comes to mind is the stick in Sensei Quest and with the context of that being something someone would have to spend hours / days grinding for, probably won't be too important. Maybe a Himawari scene since she's the one who sells it to you (but I'm in the process of playing the game to find if there's anything else)

Surely that's not the first product placement event right? Where they name drop a bunch of products and companies for who knows what reason.
1st Niki event was a Coca Cola ad

Maya would be the most boring ad person ever.
I dunno, these days she might hit the threshold of being unfunny enough to be funny again. There's a guy on Youtube whose whole bit is he talks in a monotone / sarcastic voice and often makes mistakes while copying popular recipes. People love him.

Fuck dude... second blackout and there isn't even a warning, just screen goes black and loud as fuck sound.
Now that I saw you get the first lewd Niki event, I'm gonna give you a spoiler you'll run into soon that you'll want to hear. You're about to get the Niki invite events, In the second event (so the lewd one) there will be a point where they mention jumpscares being lazy writing. Sel makes the obvious joke on the next click and I think it's the same noise.

Yeah I posted yesterday that I caved. I installed the auto mod, was checking out the menu images, then checked out the jukebox. Funnily enough, its the first time I have even done that. Seeing Rin and listening to some of the music did me in.

The Chika thing is so counter intuitive, anyone trying to get all events in a first playthrough would assume the goal is to sleep with everyone to do so and therefore be a bad homie to Rin. I don't think anyone would assume you have to wait until Rin gets rejected. Some people might say that's clever game design, that the game is a subversion of the genre so you should expect this sort of thing, I just find it annoying.

The update with Schadenfruede released before the beach event, so everyone was literally punished for finishing all available content before the next release.
