No one actuallys says anything about it, but the event name is
No that's not what I meant... I meant which character mentioned 28 december? Because I'm like 89.57% sure that was Tsuneyo. And I made that number up. It was stated as a question to someone else. Nothing was actually discussed, but I feel like if it was Tsuneyo, they she is once again catching on to the weird memory phenomena going on.

Either no one or the narrator said it during that event.

In the next event when Untitled Children's Show starts, youdidit mentions the date.

The one you're thinking about is in chapter 4 a whole 2 resets later. Tsuneyo's first event of the chapter, and after the date mention is when she started blacking out in front of Yumi and asking her weird questions.

Oh you're right! I HAVE seen that before. I just didn't pay attention to the art of the creature. Think it's head might be looking a little different here tho.

There it is. The very last line. That's all I needed. I don't know why I didn't check her event... my memory is a scrambled mess that does not cooperate.

It's why replays have so much value. There's a LOT of details you can quite literally just gloss over during your first playthrough even if you've been fuly spoiled.

Question. Does paredolia have anything to do with the smilies you see throughout the entire 4 chapters? Are the smilies paredolia's thing?

Not necessarily. The smileys are exclusively HOPE's symbol afaik. Pareidolia's is just a blank face "-_-"

Athough I still believe they are all created by Akira to symbolize his trauma and self-admonishment, they could all just be deeply-buried fragments of his personality. So I can't personally deny pareidolia being linked :3

There is a theory that a very specific smile is Paredolia's, and it's not chapter 4 exclusive. I'm not sure how comfortable I am identifying it until I reach current update, but the picture is from much earlier in the game.

Smiles in general do seem to be god fuckery.

Another text extraction, and I even verified it by guessing the same font, aligning the text as best I could, finding out the correct font size in the process [Arial, 45], and then guessing the missing words until things lined up. (for a while I thought her love for all minds was her love for almonds). I even made an effort to try and be pixel perfect to offset how I don't have the exact text antialiasing settings Sel used (Betting he uses photoshop)

Since I'm attaching all the layers I worked with and even the paint.net project if you want to play with the layers easily, I'm not going to try format the post with several images. Check the "Image with text removed" to remember what image this is.

filename: naodiscovery20 ( naodiscovery20.webp )
event name: Flora

The text on the right just spams "it hurts it hurts it hurts" from top to bottom

I am russian and I can confirm that this is accurate. 9th of May is a very big deal in Russia and is celebrated in a bigger manner than any other holiday, except New Years.
I doubt this has anything to do with Chika though, would've made more sense to make a Slavic girl (which we dont have) and give her this birthday, OR give 9th of May to Yumi because she's the favorite girl for most Russians.
