In retrospect, it makes me wonder what Karin told her.

Considering Karin was almost willing to forgive it, she might be trying to keep the specifics secret.

Less "your teacher almost raped me as soon as we were alone" and more "Sensei and I are not talking to each other right now, and I'd prefer that you kept your distance from him as well."

Of course, Kirin might just be calling Noriko to come save her from her annoying sister or something.

I can kind of understand why, unfortunately. Most people I've known would do their best to pretend things like this never happen, and even ignore it when it happens to others they know. (Especially the happy ones. Willful Ignorance is bliss after all.)

Karin just isn't going to do anything about a teacher that she knows loses control of himself, is attracted to underage girls, and has at least 20 minors at his mercy, I guess.

It's kind of Character development in a way? Serve soup to the homeless, help grandma cross a street, and now, enable a predator that "loses control" of himself to continue doing so.

Karin is a people pleaser who knows that doing anything that hurts Akira will undoubtedly make her the most-hated girl in school. So she's gonna keep quiet about it.

And when someone else gets hurt because of it, it will devastate her and that will bring the trauma drama we crave.

It's a disappointment when these topics are explicitly avoided considering it is exactly what most of us are here for.

I think it's a bit early to say these things considering it happened near the end of the last update. There are a lot of assumptions being made from nothing, I'd say save the disappointment for two updates from now if nothing comes of it.

Yup. The payoff shouldn't be immediate.

And I know someone's gonna say "it isn't immediate, it's been a month," but the gap between updates is artificial, the updates are intended to be played contiguously in a finished product. The story needs to move on and develop a false sense of security before pulling the rug out from under us.

I remember witnessing the transition from a solid poster, to a snarky poster, to a pseudo Xerxes "I am a god and you are all dirt". Crazy what an ego can do to someone

When an Event is simple and seemingly "positive" sounding, I can't help but think it's gonna be rough... and taking into account the names of the 2 to 3 events prior... oof.

Edit: Then again who knows, maybe it'll be "romantic".

Mmmh interesting, event called ''Happy'' right after trauma bond + irregular heartbreak, possibly the end of the chain event, with a name like that I definitely expect something strong maybe in lore or fucked up event.

a few more thoughts; I would definitely bet for something lore-heavy or heavy-hitting, I'd rule out anything fluffy or romantic, in a game where there are "happy" events, which are basically the entire big lore of the game, I doubt Sel would want to spend that event name as the only event of the thousands that will end up being something unimportant.
So I hope it's the end of 0.39 and I look forward to seeing what it is.

I agree; in fact the more I think about it the more I feel like the chance of Karin disclosing anything substantial is extremely slim. Honestly I feel like the possibility of Karin disclosing anything at all is so low that Kirin might have a better chance connecting some dots by unintentionally mentioning this to Miku, then Miku confirmed that Karin was left alone with Sensei for some time.

its cause he makes "doctor money" to quote the manchild himself when given criticism on how to keep the plot more engaging. he's fairly blinded by greed and an army of sycophants to think any other vison than his own is worth seeing.
