The second symposium is a FUTABA EVENT? Ok, I was not expecting that. I guess DeSkel is going to have a party with Futaba being more relevant now. Also, I wonder who's going to be the third then. Since it was Noriko first, now Futaba, who will be the third girl.

Also, this kind of throws a wrench into the plan of having Noriko joining the RAS (or at least saving Maya by herself), since she'll probably just have one supernatural event rather than three. If it follows the pattern of one symposium per update, then the next one would be one of these girls:

I guess either Sana, Makoto or Yumi would make the most sense. But if it follows the idea of involving a girl in the supernatural that wasn't before, then we'd have Chika, Touka, Miku or Karin. I wonder if it's Touka, since Selebus mentioned a possible animation between her and Yasu, and that'd have to be something supernatural to make that happen imo.

I'm saying Chika has a higher chance than Touka since Chika she's gonna be bluejaying or something similar, Makoto had a bit of supernatural during her crazy periods so having the third TSS be her thing after 42v will be quite a scene, but this is all based on what happens during 42v and can also just not happen in 43v considering something else...

The third one could be Touka's if we follow some sort of pattern with the characters getting TSS'd, I cannot elaborate since I can't put my finger on that idea since god damn, it is extremely blurry, but there's some similarity between Noriko and Futa that's causing me that blurry idea.

Now off to what might be the WORST possibility if it happens, Miku, she seems a bit too fragile to handle getting TSS'd imo.
It's up to someone else if they want to theorize what might make her have the chance to get there.

Ayane being a "coward" and only fighting when she knows she's got supernatural backing is one thing (that I don't necessarily agree with, but can see), but saying that she was bullying Ami is way too far for me. Ami's behavior upon being slapped, and the way she reacts later, isn't cohesive with a weak girl behaving so that her bully doesn't mistreat her.

Not to mention lying straight to her face while trying to gaslight her. That's the bullying I'm referring to.

Nothing Ami did, earned physical violence. Ayane let herself be left out in the woods. It was part of the dorm wars, that she could have forfeited. Even being there overnight wasn't on Ami. That was on the Shapeshifter.

On top of this, it's pretty clear why Ami acted the way she did:

Ayane, Maya, and Sensei are trying to keep Ami from finding out about the resets, and continously do things behind her back that she can't ignore throughout Chapter 3.

For example, Ayane "borderline" kidnaps Sensei right in front of Ami while she has to work in Ayane's 'How The World Works' Chapter 3 Event:

Overall: This all seemed to translate to Ami thinking that her friends are intentionally leaving her out of things, which well, they were, and they are not exactly good at hiding it.

And Ayane definitely was not treating Ami as an "equal" nor was Ami considering her one (she had prior probably, but not since then). Ayane literally bossed her around to the point that it worried Sensei, so much that he brought it up twice in that brief timespan. Ayane is still hiding this from Sensei for a reason.

Ayane isn't just a coward, or a bully, but a cowardly bully, tbh.

Of course, if Ami didn't just let her have her way, Ayane probably wouldn't be able to. After Maya scared Ayane, Ami wanted Ayane back, and even could offer sharing Sensei with her to mend their friendship:

This is way too dismissive of how Ami behaved in this event. The dorm war competition between Ayane and Yasu was a VERY bad and dangerous idea. True, that wasn't Ami idea but upon being given the role of escorting Ayane into the woods and awknowledging that she was scared and even trembling what does Ami do? Takes her much deeper into the woods than she's meant to and tries to take this opportunity probe Ayane for information and leverage her friendship to control her. She leaves her noticeably frightened friend alone in the woods without a comforting or encouraging word.

At the 12 hour mark Yasu returns. Touka is the only one with any sense to understand that this competition was a mistake. Maya is worried and asks if they should go looking for Ayane now that the competition is over. Ami (who again, is aware of the state Ayane was in) says they should give her more time and leave her be.

This is an actual emergency. Ayane is lost. Scared. Without food or clean water. No way to call for help. Could be unconcious, dead, or dying and Ami's response is to let her stew a bit longer. And by I bit longer, I mean at least another 12 hours becasue...

Ayane doesn't get back until nearly 24 hours into the event. No food, water, or shelter. No one went looking for her. Only after literal divine intervention rescued her did she get back. Ami feigns innocence and concern. Ami is trying to see how much she can get away with, how much she can push Ayane. Ayane confronts her. Ami still keeps up the act, then she gets slapped.

Its a slap, it's not nodoka getting her shit wrecked or even equal to the life threatening situation Ayane was in. Ami is fine. Ayane has discovered a way to deal with people who try to walk all over her and it has worked twice. I wouldn't call her a bully when she's just standing up to people who want to control her.

Even if by some miracle Ami is innocent, it doesn't change how this looks from Ayane or Maya's point of view and this is all just a misunderstanding at worst.

The extended psychological manipulation that Ami used against Ayane is much worse than a single event of "bullying" where the whole point was to stop the manipulation and hopefully return them to a more normal relationship.

As you point out, Ayane hasn't been completely alone because she's had Ami, Sensei, and (to a lesser extent) Maya to rely on. Sensei has become a shell of the man who first became her father figure, and is inconsistent at best in how much he supports Ayane now. After Ayane joined the RAS, Maya started treating her less like a friend and more like a hindrance, and was completely fine with Ayane being factory reset, maybe even hoping for it. If anything, Ami has been a horrible friend and very abusive to her, but we let it slide because we like Ami while we call Otoha a bitch when her crimes on a "bad person scale" are genuinely lower, we are all hipocrites.

Ayane is an angel for putting up with it and forgiving Ami, that slap that she gave her is what a true friend would've done, she brought Ami down to earth and told her she wouldn't stand for it and would love her regardless.

You'll miss Prisoner, and you'll miss a few scenes that only trigger if you have Prisoner, but that's a side strand of Ayane's path, not the main part of it.

I guess I heavily disagree with both of your takes on this.

Ami wasn't pushing Ayane away. Ayane pushed Ami away by not only sleeping with Ami's uncle behind her back, but also with the reset stuff, and then pushed Ami away even more after Maya scared her.

Even before all of that, Ayane said crap like this on Ami's birthday:

Ami and Ayane literally formed the Sensei Love Squad, and Ami being Ami isn't anything new. She didn't seem to do anything to change their friendship. Ayane did (and Maya). I'm not sure where Ami pushing Ayane away in chapter 3 comes from, tbh. She was trying to rekindle their friendship.

Frankly, even Ayane's problems with Maya and Sensei are her own fault. She treated Maya as a threat before making it to the roof, and basically spent years harassing Sensei while Maya had to hide their relationship. Ayane was even the one who pushed for a sexual relationship with Sensei, surely knowing it'd at least change her relationships with Ami and Sensei. It, of course, is also something Maya likely hated, like how she hated Ayane flaunting her relationship with Sensei during the resets:

Ayane's actions are a large part of why her relationships are the way they are. I'm curious if she may have even played a part in why her father neglects her and her mother abandoned her, but I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Anyway, all that you showed of Ami is after Ayane messed up their friendship, slept with her uncle, acted way different than usual, bullied her, and was just implying that she was somehow involved in Sensei breaking and being incapacitated for 2 months. On top of this, Ami was apparently finally breaking after all of the years of crap she's been put through by everyone around her. Hence why Ami has short hair now.

But the power imbalance I'm referring to was shown blatantly in Ayane's Chapter 3 'Double Jeopardy' Event:

I highly recommend you download URM and use it to set ayane_lust to 10. Without seeing Prisoner and the other events that rely on it, Ayane's arc will make a lot less sense.

In general, you shouldn't think of this as a traditional VN with a branching narrative and different paths for different girls. There is one linear story that contains arcs for all of the girls. You can never totally lock yourself out from anyone, but the story will be the most cohesive if you make choices and meet lust thresholds so see all of the events.
