What I wouldn't give for bi-monthly releases again... bi-weekly? Every two weeks.

What kind of event/situation do you all hope DOESN'T happen during 2025? There's been a lot of discussion of what we hope to see, but what do we hope we don't see?

Personally, I hope there's less story based on Sara and Yuki. I feel like we've gotten our fill on them lately and it'd be nice to have more time spent on the girls in class. (But I do want more Wakana/Osako stuff to happen.)

I'm just hoping the idea blueballing stops soon (with exception of Chika since the joke might be the same, but the "rabies" is giving us new stuff to work with like her telling Yumi to have sex with us.)

For me that includes Wizard content (at least after Tsukasa's choice, even though I have thoughts on something 'godly' happening with Chinami), the Noriko being cucked joke, Maya sex being kept off screen. The fact that a majority of girls are being sexed by sensei yet a bunch of them don't know it's a harem yet. Probably a bunch more I'm forgetting about.

Maybe I just want the boat to be rocked after a year of no reset.

I can't speak for everyone but I feel like Nu-Maya would have to do / say a whole lot for this to have the desired impact. Maya-Prime has too much narrative weight from the rest of the game. The story beats that would allow the potential loss of Nu-Maya to be comparable to OG Maya for both Sensei and the reader would make the overall story weaker imo. Nu-Maya would have to impact the understanding of the setting/lore or have dynamic and engaging character interactions to have a shot. I don't see it.

I don't mean that they could ever become equals, but new maya is maya, in the sense that everything before the resets is shared by both of them. If Akira learned of his past with maya through new maya, he'd associate new maya with the "original maya" (they're both the original one).

That could help making him parting with new maya painful as well, even though maya prime would be more treasured.

Thanks for clarifying. Nu Maya definitely has a lot of potential, emotionally and metaphysically. I enjoy whenever Sensei has to struggle with the same struggles Maya Prime went through. As far as I remember, we haven't really learned too much about the other Senseis in loops before the start of the game (who were decisively not Akira, if Maya Prime was to be believed). Though not a perfect 1 to 1 mirror, learning exactly how Maya Prime processed the other Senseis "resetting"/changing personalities would not only inform how Akira may grapple with the process of losing Nu Maya, but also enable another opportunity to depict Akira struggling with the same bs that Maya Prime dealt with, potentially demonstrating the latter's strength juxtaposed with the former's weakness, leading to Sensei further deifying Maya Prime.

The "new" Sensei we see with Ayane in the final event of the update cracks a joke that, on first read, doesn't seem like the style of humor Akria tends to lean into. It would be interesting if this Sensei is "not Akira," as Maya Prime described dealing with in pre Chapter 1 loops.

Being THE most popular game in this site and being a spearhead that jumpstarted a new h-game genre does that to you. Take a look at most of popular games in this site, you will notice them being similar if not identical to DIK. I am more surprised about *Harem Hotel*, that game is boring. Edit: the word "shithole" just standing at the middle between rated games is a bit funny, noticed it only now

I really don't know how all of the Being a DIK style 3dcg RenPy games are so popular on this site to be honest. 95% of them are such complete wastes of time. Maybe I'm in the minority but Id rather play random RPGmaker games. I feel like there is at least a higher chance of finding something good with them than there is with most of the 3dcg RenPy stuff. I swear half of them all use the same set of character models as well.

In my personal opinion, I don't see a correlation between different game engines and the quality of a game. Whether a dev uses Daz3D models, Koikatsu, Honey Select, AICG, photo-tracing or hand-drawn graphics will just impact the personal visual taste of the player. There's enough good titles using either of those styles. Some of my favorite games are text only even.

The fact that so many popular games are using Daz3D models is probably because it is easier to use/edit existing models than having to create images from scratch (e.g. hand-drawn). I wouldn't even say that there is a lot less Koikatsku or HS games out there though, which are comparable in terms of effort used in character creation. AICG is also not too difficult to use, at least if doesn't have to be perfect, the high quality ones need a lot of work too though (a lot of touching up).

I also find it funny that you bring up the RPGM engine and highlight it positively. This is by far the most archaic engine still in use, probably because the sex game dev slaves in Japan keep pumping out low effort slop in that engine to this day, somehow keeping it relevant.

Tl;dr: You can't derive the quality of a game by the engine or the character creation software used (unless it's very sloppy AICG, I guess) and need to look at them individually.

I said 3dcg, So that includes Koikatsu, HS, etc. And I will stand by the statement that 95% of them are a complete waste of time. Lil would be amongst the others in the 5% that are not, in my opinion, a complete waste of time. Some of the 5% use daz3d, some use hs, some probably use something I don't know the name of. I'm not saying the engine makes a bad game, I'm saying that literally 95% of the renpy 3dcg games are, in my opinion, hot garbage.

The rest of what I said I probably should have worded differently or elaborated on further. What I mean is rpgmaker games, as an example, on the surface all seem kind of junk with copy paste assets. But somehow there are actually lots of pretty good games on that engine even though everyone seems to write them off when they see the rpg maker tag. Which is kind of the opposite of a lot of the flashy 3dcg renpy games. A lot of them look good, but you play them and they are garbage, In my opinion anyway. Which is why I don't really understand why they are so popular.

And those % are kind of arbitrary anyway and just based on what I have downloaded. I'm sure if you look at every rpgmaker game in existence maybe 95% (probably more) of them are also garbage. But in my experience with this site you will find random rpgmaker games with like 3 pages of posts in their threads that are way more interesting than a lot of 3dcg renpy games I have downloaded with hundreds or thousands of pages of posts in their threads.

Half-assed KK games look terrible. Half-assed DAZ games look terrible. Asset recycling is rife with all three engines, creating a "sameness" to many games created in them. There are a very small number of KK games that genuinely look good because the dev put significant effort into the character design, and there are an even smaller number that actually have decent non-stock animations -- LiL has high-effort character art, but no-effort animations, for example. KK has this problem that if you don't do it right (and most devs don't) the characters look like they have no nose at all, and the laughing expression makes the characters look hideous.

IMO HS is exceptional at being painfully average at everything.

On the second topic: It would be strange to see people dislike or not know about RPG Maker and its games, considering a lot of people childhood or teenage years were influenced(edit:influenced is a big word, more like spent) by such games on youtube, the most good example being Corpse Party and Ao Oni(aka - its raping time), and yet Koikatsu is more popular than RPG Maker, strange, since the "engine" that was not "in medium" would be Koikatsu.
The less said about Honey Select, the better.
Basically there are 2 good ways of making budget games: RPG Maker and Koikatsu. RPG Maker has a lot of trash just like any other, it also has a lot of good games that are so obscure its developers simply abandon their projects because no one would play them, I can name about 4 such games from my memory. Most people do not like to play RPG Maker games for one good reason: it looks far too "budget made" to enjoy it, games of that engine had their place and time, not anymore. Give it 10-15 years and it will be time for Koikatsu to face the music too. Unless japanese decide to drag Koikatsu corpse around like they do with RPG Maker
