Well, I guess for me the whole thing rang false.

After I started it and realized what Nodoka was up to, I had to walk away for a week. Came back and was able to enjoy the pure fan-service of it. But in the flow of the game? Nope.
Noriko actually didn't know about Io:

I'm not sure if she does yet.

Besides Noriko and Uta, (and probably Karin, and Touka), I don't think any of the girls would have cared that much, though. Io isn't exactly popular, and these girls aren't exactly the most caring or considerate (for the most part), either.

However, I do agree that from the player's pov, it was tonal whiplash for most. Chapter 4 has been full of that.

Huh. I had a very clear memory of someone laying into Nono-chan about what she’d done. Though it was Noriko. (Uta. Checked.)

And you’re right: Io hasn’t exactly ingratiated herself to anyone except Uta and Sensei, but Nodoka’s treatment of her still bothered everyone. Uta slaps Nodoka. Otoha, of all people, says she’s disappointed. Ayane and Sana talk about it, both seeming disturbed by what happened. And Imani kicks Nodoka out, over no one’s objections.

So that six of the girls showed up to subject themselves to possible abuse? Don’t buy it. Sana may be a masochist, but she wouldn’t enjoy submitting herself to anything like that.

I can relate to that. But I don't think Nodokathon is merely a fan-service. Nodoka elaborated her intention in detail here.

As in, she's trying to "break character and shell of everything" to save everyone from given inertia and inanity. I believe in Chandler's Law she talked about same thing. Nodokathon is no exception, all part of her experiment to find more intriguing aspects of character to help her understand and distort the world. It might seem to be selfish as always, but before Futaba, I don't she has ever taught to have a self. She's just trying to break artificiality perceived and taught by her mother who unfortunately the sole comfort she had in childhood. And, I repeat again, she's not vile. It's a matter of perspective

Truth be told, I apologize beforehand if it sounds too terrible but LiL is a terrible game in every sense of the word, don't you think it's awesome to shatter Io's facade into pieces before everyone else using logical intelligence? There is something extremely gross yet utmostly beautiful in cruelly revealing and exposing truth and scars. Like This Town Has Two Halves. It's better to keep that a speculative thought, though. Don't do harm. Life is not a game, which is exactly the problem Nodoka has, warranted or not.

In life it's right to call her shizo and slap, but in the game she hacked reality as a daughter of another god.

I don’t think anyone is arguing that it was out of character move for Nodoka, more that it makes zero sense why the girls (besides Kirin) would go to her Nodokathon after witnessing what just happened immediately before.

That.

ETA: Also, tbh, I don't take a word Nodoka says at anything like face value. Even when it makes sense.

IIRC, the LiLcord/those who donate to Sel will choose the winner in each category, so even if your predictions are correct, we don’t know if the LiLcord members share the same opinion.
Damn i thought the Lilcord/donors would choose the ones at the matches but Sel would do it himself, this is even worst than i expected.

Narratively? Of course it isn't fanservice. Metanarratively? Of course it IS fanservice. That said.

This reminds me how lines can create truly wonderful things if you put them together in the right way.

Even in a world where the Io thing didn't happen, the way the girls act in Nodokathon is nonsensical. These are teenagers who have had at most one sexual partner. Just because they're horny perverts doesn't mean they're going to jump at the chance to get naked and pleasure themselves in front of a random group of their classmates, not all of whom are their friends.

Even before the girls witnessed Nodoka reveal Io's most intimate secret, they already knew that she's the creepy incest girl who has zero respect for other people's personal boundaries. With the possible exception of Rin, none of them are friends with her. And yet they decided to accept her vague invitation to some sexual event, without knowing the specifics of what they would have to do or who else would even show up (for the most part).

All of the girls have individual factors that should prevent them from participating:
  • Rin knows Nodoka is writing a book about their sex lives and is constantly manipulating others, she knows this shit isn't going to stay private. She also gets extremely embarrassed and stops functioning in any situation that's even remotely sexual.
  • Makoto is in her "doesn't give a fuck" phase and has no inhibitions, but she also has no incentive to participate - she's straight, so it doesn't do anything for her sexually. Her most notable previous interaction with Nodoka is being (repeatedly?) sexually assaulted by her in the gym showers. There's no chance she'd give Nodoka the satisfaction of agreeing to what she wants.
  • Sana is a secret degenerate, but she's also cripplingly shy and has only just started to come out of her shell. It's insane that she would do something sexual with people that she still struggles to even have a conversation with.
  • Molly's degeneracy is limited to h-games that she plays in private because she's scared to get involved with real people.
  • Noriko is so committed to Sensei that she refuses to act on her attraction to the other girls (especially Kirin) before she succeeds in getting with him. I don't know why she'd make an exception for what's essentially group masturbation.
  • Even Kirin's supposed promiscuity is all talk, no action. There's a reason she's never been with anyone other than Sensei.
We often say that LiL isn't a porn game, it just contains explicit scenes in service of telling a particular story. Nodokathon is porn for porn's sake and doesn't belong here. To make it happen Sel had to ignore consistent characterization in favor of ridiculous porn logic.

Was there any canon or plot relevant info in the fanfest? I didn't bother with any of it so I thought I'd ask. I know Otoha has basically been confirmed as a shotacon but we already knew that.

Some insights in the scene commentaries but nothing earth shattering iirc. You can search for the people who did walls of text about it.
Search for the Q&A there were some production insights there as well as some bait.
Sel can still write Maya Prime proper even after a year.
Explicit Shotohacon
Proabably an insight into an upcoming Yasu scene if you can think about what kind of scene would use her fanfest music. The other 3 felt about as deep as Uta's song.
Sel used little bunny for the ending of Forever Young, implicitly implying that Maya's song isn't a generic song used for true love (it was used like that in one scene before little bunny existed iirc)
Io's stated to be asexual (and made a cuck chair) but I'm not sure if that's actually main timeline canon, as opposed to being shorthand for a trauma response.
With effort, Kaori can talk normal. She lacks enough of a connection with Akira to try.

When I can put aside all the time to go through huggy boy I'll mention if anything is relevant. I imagine it'll be more in jokes for future updates rather than past plot.
