Hello everyone, first time comments on this website. Firstly sorry if my english is not good and i may not be able to fully express my thoughts. Secondly, i love the game, like a lot. There is a lot of thing i want to say about the game and all, but when i write this comments, i just can't put it into words. I dont have much time to play (probably because i play so many games), so i just advances slowly, until now i just finish the 3rd beach trip (i think?). The latest main event is "Shelter". But after this event, all my progress got deleted (affection, lust). I read previous comments that if i use the cheat engine in the game to cheat to get affection, i will get deleted all progress. So i have a few things i wanted to ask :
- does anyone have the save file right after the 3rd beach trip event without using cheat ? i want to experienced the game myself without using the lastest save file at ver 0.48, but i dont have time to grind again for all the affection points.
- also, im not familiar with all reference of religion, god and all of that stuff. Like i can understand what it trying to say at the moment, but it's very easy for me to forget it since i dont know the originial context of it. Did it matter to the story of the game ? What do i need to know about it to fully play the game or what do i need to pay attention ?
- the same with the happy event. Im also very confuse about it, like it's just some side event with horror element, sometimes it tell some story that i don't know if that is the lore of the game, or just another god/religion reference. Can anyone enlighten me on this ?
- also, im still quite foggy with the past of sensei. I know that if i keep playing, i will just discover it out. But I'm also afraid that I might have missed something from the past information about Sensei's background that I didn't understand.
Sorry if this comment is long and is bothering you, i just want to fully express what i thought. Thanks
Download autoVN mod, then restart the game. Hold ctrl to skip text. You will probably caught up to your proggress less than an hour.

Two very technical explanations:
1) Sensei's actual words are "...come to think of it, you [Ayane] are rarely even around when that happens, are you?". It's not really never if one wants to be a Mr. Literal and if one wants to count Stop Looking For Answers as Ayane actually being around Sensei's past blackouts at least once (though it was by the very end of it and Ayane at the time didn't know what was happening). Still, I would also assume that "rarely even" is enough the same as "never" to avoid playing around words too much.
2) TH15 15NT M3 is v0.38 and Operation: Sleepytime is v0.42, so "technically" by the time of the latter event, Ayane has been made aware of Sensei's strange condition, and can identify it when Sensei was experiencing shit.

Can you elaborate on "morning Ami and night Ami are different in the beach"? am interested.

As for Himawari shapeshifting to Ayane, Himawari has more than once expressed her unwillingness to transform into her mom; my impression from reset5 is that she does have a valid, existential reason for not doing so and it's not just about preference. So even if Himawari someday starts mass disguising as everyone at every turn, Ayane would still be off limits if there isn't a strong enough reason for her.

(Besides, for narrative reasons, I don't think Himawari pretending to be other girls is, has been, or will be an frequent everyday thing. It's a Pandora's box level plot device if its use is less than meticulous. IMO the transition has to be seen by players' point of view or things get overboard very easily when, technically, she can just be everyone.

You can either believe that Kumon-mi looks something like the following, or this is simply a case of "it makes sense if you don't think about it"

Wall not going into the sea makes sense. But it would mean Io could build a raft and get outside of the city whenever she wants.

About Ami, this is after Ayane doesn't come out from forest for a whole day. And apparently she is not worried.

Maybe i made a mistake calling it night/day Ami, but something is definetly different in her.

This is Ami, right after she dropped Ayane in the woods.

I don't know you guys but i would not worry about my friend who is lost for 30 minutes. I would be worried for a friend who would be lost for 24 hours. With Ami it is total opposite. I'm not sure if it is day/night cycle or effects of the moon or something in the wood. But something changes her character.

She may be acting about being worried and stuff, but why she doesn't continue to act like she cares about Ayane in front of Maya in the morning.

Note: Finally i can share screenshot again. Yay.

Yeah, might be different Ami's in the end.
Could also be Ami pretending.

Something that went on in my mind for some time now.

You've made a few assumptions here.
  • Why do you think it's a murder and not a sacrifice? With the religious theming of the game that'd be more likely. There's only been one on screen murder and Ami did it, and only one girl who'd be ready to cut a bitch if Ami tried to pull anything (Chika). Right before the 6th reset Maya and Ayane saw Ami basically flayed on a elaborate rack. You don't do that for a simple murder.
  • Do you think Maya is capable of hurting Ami in any way? Girl got tortured by Ami in 0.46 and two months later she's speaking to her fully knowing what Ami did and yet only trying to negotiate with her. Nodoka tried this once and got decked the next day, even with Yumi barely getting a taste of torture compared to what Ami did.
  • Noriko's already forgiven Ami in the beach trip with Flowerchild

  • You're the correct amount of foggy with Sensei's past. You might have just been given his name at this point and you're not that far off from being told that you seem to be the real Sensei instead of a skinwalker (You're also a bit of a manwhore at this point, actually plot relevant). You're close to being given a huge window into Sensei's past.
  • Religion is super important to the game, but not everyone here understands everything. If you like the characters enough to do the next step, you can start paying attention to this thread once you've caught up to the latest update and spoilers aren't a problem anymore.
I would highly recommend doing a new playthrough. Get the guide mod, AutoVN, and URM (When you learn how to, you should ignore bonus. You should also never use URM to check for missing content without rolling back and letting the game naturally pick its paths, you can break things and we won't be able to figure it out).
Go into settings and under Skip, turn off "Unseen Text" but turn on "After Choices", then press skip and let the game play itself until you reach text you haven't seen before. If you bothered to use the cheat menu, you probably missed a bunch of other choices and had a very red save file. The guide mod and autovn should make it obvious what choices you should make to see every scene in the game.
Once you're back to dialogue you've seen before, the skip button will be enabled again and just keep pressing it as needed. If you were using the cheat menu to skip affection grinding, just keep autoVN enabled. But if you want to see the side content you can disable autovn in the settings menu.

That might be a technicality. "That murder was a sacrifice" too?, maybe?
Not going into the whole "Snitches get stitches" thing?, hmmmmm ok.

Do i think Maya is capable of murdering Ami? Yes.

As of Noriko, it's unlikely, but not impossible.

I think it was a punishment from gods similar to Shota, who gets stabbed everytime he does something gods do not approve of, rather than a murder committed by known character.

So what did Ami do in chapter 3 to deserve it? I don't know.
Maybe whole punishment theory is wrong.

New theory: who's to say this isn't another shapeshifter? Tsubasa alludes to knowing other shapeshifters in the last update, after all. This Ami could have been replaced for all we know. Maybe each god has their own shapeshifter working for them. Maybe when Ayane and Ami talk at the end of the event they're BOTH shapeshifters. Maybe I need a new update to come out so I don't keep grasping at straws for theorycrafting.

Edited Touka -> Tsubasa because I'm an idiot

I hear AutoVN/GuideMod alot, kinda feels like it's used as the ultimate solution to everything.
Those are bad bandaids.
Yeahhhhhhhh. I would never be enough of a degenerate to recommend this game to my friends but if I did I would tell them it's almost unplayable without the guide mod. The actual "game" aspects of this game are poorly designed.

I had a theory a while back, that every reset, Ami gets replaced. Like there is this template Ami, which creates different Ami's who has a mission every loop. When she fails to complete she gets discarded.

Replaying through the game, i am convinced Ami knows about reset and loops, sensei's love for Ayane and Maya. (i made post about their facial expressions to the other girls and it's meanings. )In second reset, she ask help from sensei, about something.

Which made me think "yes she knows but not the mastermind, maybe another victim, who doesnt like what she does."

Or it could be like the Danganronpa Another Episode thing, there's a limit to how far a non-authorized person should reach. Though I don't think you explode, you probably just get detained.
This belongs to “it makes sense if you don’t think about it”, though I must admit that I’d love a spontaneous combustion force field idea since that sounds positively hilarious.

At sea level you can only see like 3 miles out to sea so it's entirely possible there's some sort of ocean barrier that's just not in view anyway lol
You mean, building big ass walls 3 miles offshore in the sea at the bare minimum to section off a sizable coastal area and prevent civilians from entering/leaving their confine via a public beach (not even a port)? Yea…this also belongs to “it makes sense if you don’t think about it”.
Sel said something about there being multiple walls in Kumon-mi...kind of. He was very vague about it, but he did say it was just one big wall that surrounds city. But your visual representation is accurate.
The core idea of that is to paint a mental image with minimal efforts and thoughts

Since Sel himself said (in fanfest AMA iirc) that he didn’t really think about placing each Kumon-mi location on a map and constructing an actual map of his city, I didn’t think he had put enough thoughts into how this wall plot device would have to look like to survive even the most basic logic interrogations.

Well, Yumi had to go an make me feel things even stronger for her at the end eh. Now I wait. It took long enough but I am now a subscriber to his work.

I never said it didn't, I was just saying it's possible there's something preventing anybody from leaving via the ocean too.

The whole concept of one entire random city being walled off because of a space war is already something that doesn't make sense lol

People are also forgetting we've seen where the street ends, the fact it has an end implies we aren't in regular japan anymore.

Which is precisely why this subject is ridiculous to either argue about or try to find concrete logic in, it's a macguffin, it's made for a purpose, it serves its purpose, end of discussion... i get that perfectly ordinary human curiosity wants to poke around in it but it's a complete waste of time, there are moments in the story itself where it's explicitly stated to not think about it and its solid advice... you won't find answers, cause there aren't any, you won't find a grounded explanation, because there isn't one... just ignore it.
