Yes. The dev seems to have a lesbian kink. There are like 4 straight characters in the game at this point.

You can replay Rin's event if you want. It doesn't really affect the relationship with her, she forgives the MC for it and everything. But you do miss events with her, and she does bring it up occasionally.
alr thx, I'll replay then, everything for Rin my beloved

I'm having a great time playing chapter 1 with lovely characters like Rin(my fav), Sana, Chika, etc. But its look like everyones arguing over the new version 0.49 alot and the characters that Im in love with sound so different in those talks as well. Damn...
Rin stays S tier dont worry, she's adorable.
The character arcs are what makes this game so amazing so don't worry if you see us complaining about them right now, they'll get worse, then they'll get better.
does it affect badly to the relationship with Rin and she wont become my GF in the future? If yes then I guess I'll have to replay lots of scenes
Badly but I don't know if it totally blocks you out.
That being said I would HIGHLY recommend starting over and being a good homie. You won't lose much time either.

I didn't play this game since like v0.24 but I'll start to catch up soon. I have a question to ask - as of latest version, is not missing any event is the "correct" way to play? I know it can be subjective but is there some cases when missing an event is mostly good and/or cases when not missing an event is mostly bad?

Yes and it's not subjective.
You're going to see awful things but it's absolutely the correct way to play and I would highly recommend it.
If you can't stomach the horror, then do a red save along side it. Makes it way more bearable.

There's no event worth missing at the moment, some debate about an IO event but honestly I'd recommend doing that too.
I've mentioned in prior comments as to how you're kinda gonna do the same stuff anyway whether you like it or not.

Also to note, this is supposed to be the "bad" section of the game, the "good" section comes after the "Dear god wtf" stage that is comingnext (We're a good way off the latter two yet don't worry).

May I ask about the red and green paths? Like, what r they and what path should I play?

Red path is when you miss events. Like you missed that Rin event by being a bad homie. There are lots of fucked up scenes in this game that you will have the opportunity to skip, depending on your decisions. One early example happens at the first beach trip and involves Kirin. IDK if you are there yet, but if certain values are not high enough, you miss that scene. Some people choose to play their game missing the more uncomfortable scenes in this game. Others stick to the "green path" and get every scene.

The green path may be the objectively correct way to play the game. It's possible that players will be penalized down the road for missing events. There is no way to tell yet. At the end of the day, it's your game. Play it how you want.

So red path is one in which you miss events, this can vary a lot but I personally do red route as a good uncle (no ami sex), and make choices that hurt characters "slightly" less, such as doing Chika's onsen event BEFORE Yumi's "Abyss" event. I won't spoil anything though.

Green route is when you do everything, and miss nothing. This can be very hard to pull off so use a guide, you'll see a lot more tears but also a lot more story.
There's really no reason to not do a green route from the story side of things as it's the intended narrative and red route is kind of just covering your eyes and playing pretend. The cover will come off eventually anyway.

A new version of the DRM removal patch (replace your gui.rpy in the LiL/game folder with this one) for the new version of Renpy, and a new 0.42 script file if yours got deleted by loading the game with ill-sourced Care Packages. All of the ones hosted here should be free of the code that will trigger it, but you never know...
What is the function of these files? I know what drm is but I don't know what kind of drm is in this game.st

At some point, a while ago, the dev was losing enough money by being a prick to his fanbase that he started to create "care packages" to encourage people to subscribe. You can see the download links for the care packages under the download link for the main game on page 1. They're nothing special...new menu screens, noncannonical sex scenes you can play by using the computer in-game, etc. Extra fan content that is not cannon and does not affect the story in any way. You can download the files and add them to your game if you so choose.

However, the care packages ended up on F95 when they were supposed to be only for subscribers, and the dev, understandably, did not like that. Keeping in line with his typical behavior, the dev asked himself, "how can I be the biggest cunt possible to my fans?" He hired an amateur programmer to add a couple lines of code to the game such that if you pirate any care packages, it deletes all your game's save data. He then proceeded to have his fans spam this site and was promptly banned the site, had his game removed from the latest updates page, and had all links to his subscribestar removed from f95. The game has not grown since. His income, which was exponentially rising every year, immediately stagnated and has begun to dwindle.

IIRC, the "DRM" works by checking metadata from each care package to see if it's installed on multiple machines. It wasn't perfect -- at the time, there were discord screenshots of a few of his genuine subscribers getting burned by this as well. The care packages hosted on this site should NOT contain metadata to trigger the "DRM".

Because the "DRM" is just a couple lines of code, you can bypass it by using game files with those lines removed. This is useful if you downloaded care packages from alternate sources or just want to be extra safe.

That line from Nodoka about "not forcing anyone" actually made me laugh because all I could think was: "Yeah, Nodoka but pointing out how bad the writing is doesn't actually make it better."

Nokoda would be great at Cinema Sins.

So what is the explanation then? The dark god of lust made them do it? That's lame. It's like the dev took a rook and moved it 5 spaces diagonally during a chess match. If you want that piece to be there you need to show us how it gets there naturally.

There's also the major issue of most of this update being missable. My personal theory on how things progress is: Futaba's dead dies. She starts hanging out with Makoto as part of the Dead Dad's Club. Sara tells Maki about Sana and Sensei. Maki finally drags the truth out of Makoto and Futaba. All hell breaks loose.

But if you miss the event how the hell does the game even progess at that point?
