i was thinking of the future too not just her current self. The happy event made me think about her like that

I read a conversation a couple of pages ago about the number of characters the game has, and it makes me wonder how the game story would've look like if Selebus stuck to the 10 original main cast plus fewer side characters.

It was a very important change that was very much at the discretion of the players, something Selebus rarely does when it comes to his "masterpiece". Like, he didn't even let us name Sensei whatever we wanted to. In hindsight it was a good decision considering how his name became a big reveal, but I remember back when the game launched some people were complaining about not being able to name him, but Selebus stood to his ground.

That is to say I can think of three separate reasons why Selebus decide to increase the cast size based on the players whims/support:

Actually now that I think about it, if second floor didn't exist, then that means Dorm Wars would also dissapear from the story.

hmmmm, does my hatred for Dorm Wars outweights my love for the second floor characters? not right now, but I will change my opinion if I have to suffer through the same shitty fucking Dorm Garbage Wars for 5 more years.

It could Kyoko and other members of the upside down house since Kyoko answered fan questions in an earlier post.
Was Kyoko another of Akira's father's girlfriends or one of Himawari's sisters? I can't remember exactly.
I think it was mentioned a while back in the thread that that "house" was where Himawari and the others lived.

She did live in that house. Not sure if she was one of Akira's father's GFs or not, but she is Nodoka's mom

The whole Nodoka being the daughter of Yuu and Kyoko has been foreshadowed a couple of times, but mostly confirmed (to an extent) in "Perfect hair forever", where she states that Akira "left", and that's why they could meet. Conceivably, a way for Yuu to have had Nodoka is that they're from a different timeline idk.

Edit: Do keep in mind that Kyoko can also slip, although to a far lesser capacity than Akira. Her pregnancy could be due to the upside down house, or even her slipping and somehow becoming pregnant from another timeline, but having the baby in this one (?). Man, this post is a lot :ROFLMAO:

I genuinely want to know who decided to name Shota. If it was Sara I completely understand why her teacher/baby daddy decided to leave. The name of her bar is dumb and the name of her dead son is also dumber. She doesn't get to name stuff anymore.

Considering recent discussions about an offhand mention potentially referring to Yuki, is there any chance that Chiaki's friend who took Chinami to the hospital is someone we know? Intimidating, has insurance, and connections to the hospital. Is it possibly Wakana? That feels like something that would have come up though. It would be funny if it was Sekai to continue the theme of her popping up like whackamoles, but I doubt it.

There's always the likelihood it's actually just someone not connected to the rest of the cast of course, but the cast is already implausibly interconnected enough it's worth theorizing about (Like Yumi, Sana, Futaba, Nodoka and Otoha all winding up in Akira's class through either sheer chance or having connections to someone already in his class through chance. Or Otoha being encountered in the wild while also coincidentally already being friends with both Nodoka and Noriko, and also being a fan of Sekai. Or the adult Entrepreneur trio all already knowing eachother. It's enough of a thing I think these people are being drawn together)

Leading theory is Tsubasa, she's taken a very easy liking to Chika for merely visiting her Onsen despite being the kind of rich person who wouldn't normally meet with peasants.

Wakana would've been somewhere in her teens when Chika was a wizard and when Chinami was a baby. Like Shmurfer the leading candidate is Tsubasa. And if its Tsubasa it would be a little fucked up if she knew about the Choskobae's situation all this time and waited until now to do something.

Understandable, it makes sense in a lot of ways, but it feels weird to me still. Like it feels a little weird Chika wouldn't recognize her, and I don't really get why Tsubasa is still keeping it a secret.

Also would be extremely weird for Tsubasa to not step in when Chiaki died. In the present she's trying to either take them in or at the very least look after them as much as possible when Chika's too stubborn to accept that. Why Ghost them for years, leaving a 12-14 year old to look after an immunocompromised child alone, if in the end she's going to step in years later?

edit: Oh, DC said the same thing lol

Wait a minute, no she wouldn't. In the Chiaki event, Chika says she's almost 9 years old. In 2020 she's 16 and Waka is 28, so 8 years in the past, Wakana would've been 20-21. Maybe 19 at the very youngest. If she's 20 or 21, and she's been pretending to be Chinami's mom for 2 years, she would have "had" her at around 18-19. Very young, but if the people in my life are anything to go by, not that uncommon to have a kid right out of high school lol. Combined with her coming from some kind of money, and having ties to the hospital, probably due to her back thing, I think it's definitely physically possible. Likely? Iunno, but I was stewing on that math for a moment before I decided to look up Wakana's age.

If you have a specific question about old content like this, it's generally a good idea to try searching the thread first. In this case searching for either "Chiaki friend" or "Chiaki hospital" would find the relevant posts pretty quickly. Here's my two posts laying out the argument for Tsubasa:
I'm glad someone brought this up. She might be referring to Sekai, but I think it's actually Chiaki. [...]
When Chinami was very young she was able to get medical care thanks to an unnamed friend of Chiaki who pretended to be her mom. A while back, I speculated that the friend could have been Tsubasa. Thanks to new evidence, I now believe that theory is extremely likely to be true. [...]
As for why she didn't help the Chosokabes after Chiaki's death, that hasn't been answered yet, but I will point out a few things:
1. This is a problem no matter who the friend is - even without Tsubasa's money a family friend could have given Chika a great deal of support after Chiaki's death, but for some reason she didn't.
2. We don't know Tsubasa wasn't helping them, only that she wasn't doing it openly. Tsubasa herself says that Chika is too proud to accept direct charity.
3. She didn't just disappear from their lives for a small number of years, she disappeared for some normal years plus countless years of resets. A lot could have changed in that time, especially since it seems like Tsubasa is aware of the resets (based on her conversation with Himawari).
