That would be interesting tbh, but then the wizards would be grown and half the playerbase would have an aneurysm

I'd play that game.

Edit: It also never ceases to amaze me that Ami eventually got boobs.

0.54 is Christmalloween. Either there's going to be an unprecedented, abrupt time skip in the middle of the update, or Christmas and Halloween are going to happen "simultaneously" in two different timelines. Ami and Maya are in a different timeline and were last seen at Halloween.
I think for Christmalloween both holidays are gonna happen on the same day and everyone's gonna act like it's normal.

I don't really have anything to add, I just wanna say that so if it happens I can be like "called it" and feel clever

Great theorising though, I need to go back and replay the D&D events now lol I kind of just glaze over them so I feel a bit silly for never reading them properly now

Oh god please don't tell me the Death Ball gag was foreshadowing to where the story was actually going all along....
Just now realised that the resets are an alien simulation to keep Earth under control, and that it was ended when Tsuneyo threw the Death Ball into the Mothership :ROFLMAO:

Mystery solved!

What are the chances this is truly it for Ayane and she wont be part of the story again until the end?
I think low. But, thematically, it'd make a lot of sense for Ayane to be forgotten for a while. She's the leader of RAS, she's Himawari's mom, it's supposed to be Sana's chapter and yet it still feels like Ayane's. She already had chapter 3, and even now we still get her going on journeys through resets and being Akira's partner.

"she's best girl", I get it. But we have another 34 characters here - and I don't see where we're supposed to go with her character anymore. The Himawari stuff was the last thing. So it'd be a good point to retire her (for a while), so that others can catch up (Selebus himself said that Ayane's the most fleshed out at this point, and Ami's the least). But maybe the world after this reset will be so novel that she'll remain relevant, I have no idea.

It wasn't that long ago that Akira said if another girl dies in his arms he's ending it so I doubt it.
Yeah, it would be hard to rationalise how Akira would be able to carry on like that and he's already a frustratingly useless waste of space. He's already been ground into apathetic dust by losing Maya, Ami's been disillusioning him with her own actions and then Ayane straight up dies? He wouldn't even have it in him to jump off that roof, he'd have to wriggle off like the worm he is.

Besides that I just don't really think there's any reason to think Ayane's gonna be off'd, she's the only character actively trying to drive the story forward right now - I can see someone(s) getting killed off properly at some point but considering the RAS still has absolutely no idea what's going on, no drive and no goal I can't really think of a reason to kill off Ayane aside from cheap shock value right now.

Should I play this game?

After reading many reviews of the game I don't know if this gonna be a perfect game for me or some massive waste of time, so please give your honest opinion, because for now I land right in the middle. (I figure you guys can be huge fan but please I'm not looking for entering a new sect for now, I just need honesty.)

What I like:

Long games with deep stories. I'm more looking for a great narration and some lewd scenes than the other way around.
I'm a sensitive fella but not everything need to be rainbow in paradise (even tho love™ is a wonderful thing). I really enjoyed Pale Carnation & Being a DIK recently because my suspension of disbelief of over the top, I was wrapped in the story and interactions in those games.
I like to feel and when a game can teach me something about me or others. I love when AVN can give me the ability to reflect on Life (with a capital L).
Topics can be hard, I may cry etc but it was to be for something, I like balance.

What I'm OK/neutral with:

The grind™, sandbox, having to follow a guide/mod, a looong ass story, management element or puzzles, the art style of the game.

What I don't like:

Cringe/awkward edgyness. I'm a +30 years (happily) married man I've a hard time with immature MC/choices, I find it a huge deal breaker (No skibibis in my AVN please).
Also being sadistic or hurting others for the sake of it, it's a big deal breaker. The MC can act like a scumbag at times but he need to feel at least remorses, at best fuel for a change.
Cheap fantasy and bad horror/bad creepypasta/free violence are no good as well.
Incest & hardcore raceplay are a turn off but not a deal breaker.

_

TL;DR: I'm a romantic 35yo dude how love a good story that can help me reflect on myself and to feel things. But with a low tolerance toward cringy content or hurting others of the sake of it.
_

So please tell me dear and kind people of this thread, Should I play this game?
Thanks for your time and pardon my poor english.

If incest is a no-go, and if following a guide mod (it's an in-game one) are deal-breakers, then no. Lessons in Love is a story about the cycle of sexual abuse, and how it destroyed and keeps destroying people's lives. It is technically a porn game, but it's unlikely you'll find many sex scenes tailored for that reason. The tone of most of them is just disturbing from the overall context, even if the larger part is "wholesome" (to the extent that it can be).

So, while it does fullfil your requirements of an engaging and thought out story, where things happen for a reason, it's up to you if having a thought provoking story about things you don't like is enough to make you want to give it a shot or not.

At the end of the day, this is a very unique game. My personal opinion is that you should give it a try for a couple of hours and see if the writing captivates you. One last point of relevance is about you not liking long games... well, this would immediately fail this one, since a playthrough of the current content takes around 6 weeks for most people.

Edit: Maybe try "Out of Touch" for a much "safer" thought out story (still long though).

yeah it sounds like you'd probably enjoy this then, i'd avoid the thread until you've finished reading though. most people are good at tagging spoilers for new content but even the most surface-level discussions usually contain some level of spoilers for someone on their first playthrough.
also, most of the stuff in the first page is going to be a godsend if you want to avoid the grindy sandbox aspects. personally, i'd thoroughly recommend either the guide mod or the auto-vn mod (although auto-vn is worth installing even if you dont plan on enabling it purely because it changes some of the ui to be less spoilery). if you use guide mod but still find it a bit tedious URM is probably worth a look too
totally missed the incest bit, there is some but it's mostly avoidable and anything that isnt is very much part of the narrative as opposed to being fetishised

To drive the point home a bit more, there's incest that isn't a kink thing in sex scenes but it's literally one of, if not the most important plot points in the game. It gets weird, and can be uncomfortable at times.

Hell, 70% of this game is just uncomfortable. I don't even know if I'd recommend this game to anyone regardless, even though I've been obsessed with it for years. It ain't healthy, man.

Unfortunately, if you end up liking the game you will almost develop a cult longing for it. Some people here are hopelessly addicted to it and sometimes want the game to die so they can be free, but even at its most frustrating it hasn't caused a mass exodus yet.

Should I play this game?
Yes, but no. Also, I'll try to not spoil any plot point, though I think it has been done already, but whatever.
EDIT: Almost forgot, I'd say yes only for the BGM, God, how on point it is for almost everything, even the sandbox, there are few games that do this right.
What I like:

Depends on how "deep" you actually like your story. I find that word tends to be thrown around without understanding what it means. A month's worth of time of a place explored and its impact in the relationships of everyone that is involved? That isn't deep, it's just life. That said, this game is kindaaaa, deep but not really? Oh, you definitely can't deny how deeply it delves into its theme, but anything else that isn't tangentially related to it won't receive the same amount of attention, with a few exceptions (though you can argue the execution of those exceptions is related to the theme).
What I'm OK/neutral with:
The grind™, sandbox, having to follow a guide/mod, a looong ass story, management element or puzzles, the art style of the game.
Well, you'll definitely need the guide mod, otherwise you'll ragequit. I think there's an autovn mod that works like a linear mode, but IMO, the sandbox and the repeatable events don't lose their charm while you wait to reach the required quotas for some events, though the autovn mod is there if you want it. Also, the anime style is definitely a turn off for some people in large dosis, take that into consideration while you play.
What I don't like:
Cringe/awkward edgyness. I'm a +30 years (happily) married man I've a hard time with immature MC/choices, I find it a huge deal breaker (No skibibis in my AVN please).

What about self-destructive ones? I somehow typed a paragraph that included the seven sins, but it was too cringe. There is product placement in some scenes, run while you can.
What are the odds someone uses that specific phrase in a "should I play this" post for this particular game? That said, darker stuff won't start until you're either filtered or too deep to escape, and sadly even elaborating on this can be a spoiler.
Ehh, there's gratuitious stuff, but IMO it doesn't distract from the experience. Bad horror/creepypasta exists, but to filter you. There are flashing images and "scary" stuff, though no jumpscares that I remember.

Not trying to shame or anything, but how did you even find this game? Its anime style, its length and its subject matter tend to be filters for anyone outside those who were directly recommended this or saw tangentially saw it so many times they came to check it.

I mean, it sounds like it's up your alley. There's a few specific scenes I can think of that sound like they might push you out of your comfort zone but they're not there for shits and giggles, they have a point and make sense within the context of the story.

On balance I'd second what Moony said and encourage you to just give it a few hours - despite the length I think most people who enjoy LiL probably found themselves captivated quite quickly, and the author was quite clever in that he puts a couple of the weirder/more disturbing scenes early on so that people would be able to figure out relatively quickly if it wasn't for them.

And if you do give it a go absolutely use the walkthrough mod or the AVN mod lol
