Based japs aside, the comparison isn't nearly comparable still.
IRL, nobody is the same after seeing someone they consider romantically being physical with others, let alone when rape's involved.
If an average husband, western or not, found a tape of the
gangbang of his wife, you wouldn't expect him to shrug it off, let alone if it's a
gangrape.
It's as much of a realistic expectation as Yuki being a virgin at her age.
"Out of sight, out of mind" is a legit compromise we have even in the west.
