Why does everyone seem to hate Niki now?

Warning- .50 update spoilers

There are a number of people disappointed in Niki's reactions in .50. You could see here that the speculation was she was gonna blow up Akira when she found absolute proof he was screwing his students. Instead she more so withdrew and became sullen.

That seems to fit with me from the letters we saw that Noriko gave Akira way back, when he 1st left Niki. There would be anger in them, but then return to sadness.

One reason why some say Niki is boring is they dont see her place in the story now. Her primary arc is kinda done. Even her secondary arc that was kinda developing is also pretty well done. So there is little narrative fit for Niki currently and with so many other girls, why waste scenes/events on her. Particularly since her short term headspace is gonna be sad/mopey

I don't see how Niki's reaction could be any different than what it was. The one thing that didn't make much sense was how much "she didn't know", but that's on Selebus writing as a whole, not the character itself.

Also, I have said her arc is done - but that's not exactly true, obviously she has a new arc of dealing with everything - it's just that most people aren't interested in that (understandably). The one space where it could go and be novel is Niki becoming depraved to join Akira, and I doubt many people are interested in that either. I'd rather she just be forgotten.

At least she (Niki) got pissed. I love her and Sara both but Sara just seemed to let it go way too easily.

*Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if there was some handwaving or world BS and Niki lets it all go somewhat easily as well.

See the update and draw your own conclusions, it gave more information about Akira's past, their relationship with Niki, information that Niki knew about a certain redhead, You have to play to see your own conclusions because this update is very important in my opinion.

So I made a post before about .50's end and me looking for the saves location so I could be rid of it forever and I just wanted to now better summarize just how I feel. this is probably very poorly structured but oh well emotions do that to me sometimes hard to get things done good. the game certainly didn't help with that.

That is one element of the medium that I don't like. I really don't think you can permanently kill anyone in this series due to the backlash of it being someones waifu. It takes a bit away from the narative when you know permanant repercussions are not there. It is a lot like comic books. Wolverine dies, ehh, give it a year, you know he will be back. I mean there still is the story element of dying and each person dealing with it. But you as a player know they are coming back.

But then again I wouldn't put it past Sel. He COULD do it and say fuck it. I mean my Maya is "dead" but no way she isn't coming back at somepoint.

My theory is that Ayane will probably be reset in part 2 of the beach due to its large number of events. I don't think she'll die for good, but she will be reset — though I think it will be at a worse level than Maya. I believe it could be at Akira's level, and seeing someone be reset at that level would be interesting, but very unlikely. It's more likely that Selly will reset her at a level that 'excludes' her from the game, as in, she's no longer in the world. When Ayane found out about the reset in the third reset, she immediately 'disappeared,' which might have been a slight premonition of what could happen to her.

I can see something bad happening to her on the beach but it's gotta be more compelling than that, resetting her right now would be such an uninteresting turn of events and it hasn't been built up to at all lol

I believe these are the ones where you pick a name for the girl to call you. I don't think those have been missable before unless you could completely avoid the girl.

Although, I'm not sure how many of those were part of chains.

I actually cant wait to see what options Sel has for Molly. Especially with all of her nicknames for everybody else.
