Hard choice but I have to go with "Everlasting Mercy". Something about it just gets to me, especially this line at the start:

Honorary mention to "Untitled", it's really entertaining for some reason and it not being an annoying reset puzzle for once helps as well.

Yeah I know about Crush Crush. I think the game that I am surely remember was released in 2017-2018, because the youtube videos about it was released around that time. It could be Hush Hush(certainly not Crush Crush) after all because I found articles released in 2018 mentioning Hush Hush back then, but I am not so sure about that. I do remember checking that vn out in anivisual in 2018, but I cant find that game now, mostly because some vn were deleted from that site. Hush hush either had early access in 2018 or it was some other vn, that there was another. Time to spend a whole night searhing for it, I always wanted to try out that VN, did not have enough time back then and now I cant even find it. It was somewhat similar to LiL too, in some of it themes, a denpa like genre. The only reason I even remember about that VN
Didn't have your edit loaded at first. I'm not sure what it is, though. Their site seems scrubbed and only has three games. Their Steam has four though. I'll post a screenshot. I googled them and there may be something about them removing a game, potentially that was only on Nutaku or something, I don't know. It might be time to press F for whatever it was, as it may be gone. Their games look pretty shit anyway to be honest (lmao), so, stay strong soldier

I don't really have a favorite scene per se... more favorite moments. Like Chinami's introduction, when Touka drunkenly says 'love sounds... lovely', Tsubasa being unable to tear her eyes away from Chika getting rutted, Akira confessing to Maya, and so many more.

If i had to pick one i guess i'd say i loved stomachache... it was torture but the scene was probably the most emotionally powerful experience i've had with this game, i've rewatched that scene like, easily ten times now, maybe closer to 15...

Also your assertion made me think. What do you guys think is the best event in the game? There is no specific criteria. It can be for pure wholesomeness like The color white(Which is also my fav event) or it can be filled to the brimm with lore.
I'm a sucker for when books or chapters end on a line that abruptly adds something significant. Like answering a question or tying the loose ends of a theme.

There are so many good events to choose from but one I think about a lot is "Zanzibar (Counting Cats)". It's probably not a critically important event but I just like it. Now is a great time to talk about it given what next update might bring.

It's the final part in the Chika onsen event chain. Sensei wakes up early and begins monologueing to quell his boredom. He brings up a quote from Thoreau which is where the event gets it's name.

The scene is an intimate and comfortable moment. Chika finally wakes up. They talk for a bit and the conversation leads to chika mentioning his status as boyfriend, which Sensei doesn't have the heart to dispute.

The cats in Zanzibar aren't relevant again until the very end of the event.
As Sensei waits outside for Chika to finish talking to Tsubasa, he starts thinking about Tsubasa sexually. And then onto how to maintain his expanding harem which is immediately interrupted by the final line.

As Sensei alluded to, the line from Thoreau isn't about being lazy. It's about inward reflection. Criticizing people who literally travel abroad and fail to find happiness when the real answer is focusing on themselves.

Sensei is a miserable person. He travels from person to person, hoping their affections will make him feel something. But he remains miserable. Perhaps, the answer is to stay in Zanzibar. Focus on a relationship you already have and develop that.

Chika, partly due to naivete, is always trying to develop a good relationship. She's shown throughout the game to be reflective, analyzing how she might be a better partner. You can even see that in this very event.
But Chika largely hasn't been tested or trusted. She hasn't had to deal with Sensei's black-outs, his past, or any of the supernatural stuff. However, that doesn't mean she can't. We don't know because Sensei never lets her in. Not just Chika, Sensei never lets anyone in until they have to be.
Chika is counting the cats in Zanzibar while Sensei continues to run away from every relationship. Afraid of commitment that could be built into the sustainable happiness he needs.

At the moment, my personal favs are:

Lore-wise: Chapter 3 'Mother's Milk' Happy Event:

Story-wise: 'Remember To Smile' Chapter 3 Main Event:

Wholesomeness-wise: This one is difficult, but I think 'We Were Angels' Chapter 2 Main Event would be my choice:

Too many other events come close, though.

Lust-wise: Chika's Chapter 3 'Mating Season':

Whenever I finally get around to replaying the game, they might change, though.

I really like the story contest episode on the beach. Mostly because of the well-delivered atmosphere of the night and the campfire in nature, as well as the very cool shot of Akira's wide-open eyes with the three moons in the background.
It's funny that one of my favorite events in the game is tied with my least favorite character, because I mostly find Nodoka annoying with her paranormal omniscience. I get that she's a walking wikipedia, but how the hell did she manage to capture Akira's true feelings in her story? (I'm assuming that's what her obscure story was about, about lost love, the purposelessness of existence without that love and the voices in his head. But don't hit me if I've misinterpreted)

Cuz it's supposed to. It's the first and last time she says she loves this Sensei, to his face, and her demise could have supposedly been avoided, if Sensei didn't ignore warning after warning after warning, while pushing for more from her, ignoring her warnings as well. All the while, it's Sensei that's doing this to her...

It was built up well, since likely the first Reset, where a Sensei seemed to die from Maya Prime:

It's basically the culmination of their relationship.

Are there any other games that you guys are playing alongside LiL? Really bored rn and i have nothing interesting to play.
Id like to recommend Everlasting summer.
Its free on steam and similarly to Katawa Shoujo, made by 4chan.
It has very strong vibe of old communistic camp and very good music.
Similar to Lil youll find yourself transported into looping world, that you have hard time escaping.
Dont play for lewds since if you patch them back, they are only one still picture and not very good one at that.

EDIT:
To get any idea of wtf is going on, youll have to get all the endings and play the side story.
Has a few big workshop mods, that completely rewrite the story.
Kinda cool how strong community the game has in russia .
They even made IRL event at the camp the game art is based on.

I love Yumi's Tech Support so much from a slice of life perspective, little moments that effectively bring out the cuteness of Kumon-mi's biggest baddest delinquent/tsundere/dumbass in full force and multiply it by a million.

And really have to give the cheeky bastard Selly some credit when he wrote dialogues like this:
"T-Mobile?"
"Horrible letter."
(shaking my head, eyerolling, and smirking all at the same time)

The first ones that came to mind for emotional impact have already been mentioned: "Everlasting Mercy" and "The End of the Tour (Glasswalker)". To add to what's already been said about them, "Everlasting Mercy" has wonderful music (I get chills when it starts playing backwards), and "The End of the Tour" has some really beautiful renders.

"This Town Has Two Halves" is the one that really hooked my first time through. The game had incredible writing and characters from the start, but that was when I realized the story was also going to be a banger.

I've really enjoyed Ami's Chapter 4 arc so far. A couple favorite scenes from that which both involve Ayane: "...But Home is Nowhere" with a hurting Ami lashing out at Ayane, followed by a touching Ayane and Sensei scene, and "From the Heart (Red Shell)" with their (hopefully) wholesome reconciliation, the acknowledgment of DadSensei, and of course dangling the possibility of a threesome.

I think Kaori's scenes tend to have a great balance of humor, character, and plot. "Mysterious Abundance of Chickens" and "Wither" to name two favorites.

Off the top of my head, a couple of small moments that I love: when the "real Ami" shows up to reassure Sensei at the end of "Lamb Legs"

and when Ayane dares Maya to look after Sensei and Ami (and Maya Prime's reaction revealing that she does actually have a heart).

Oh and of course every scene involving Chinami because she's far too adorable for this world.

This made me feel validated with one of my old posts:

It's one thing for a story to be great when you have complex and important moments, like Maya confessing her feelings, or Akira smiling at his daughter, or Chika's mom looking at her house full of life again from the portrait - there are countless of them.

But it's rare even among great stories to be able to pull off "THIS CHICKEN SAVED YOUR LIFE!" and have you so into it that you not only take it seriously, but find it a great moment.
Oh, and I think I may be alone in this one, but I love the event with the japanese name (including the ), commonly referred to as "Sekai's restoration". I've loved it since the second replay though, and that's because I interpret it as "Akira's restoration" rather than Sekai's. Himawari (?) says in the event before it that "it can be beautiful to see something die in fragments, but it's even more beautiful to see it restored". And that is what LiL is about for me.

Also, it links beautifully if you look at it this way, because in the event "I will deliver you to the fireflies", Akira rejects Sekai for Maya.

And Himawari shifts from helping Sekai being restored to helping Akira being restored, in spite of Sekai coming back with it.

From that same perspective, "Miserably ever after" with its "I have disregarded the message from the desk of the ninth god, Pareidolia will have my head for it, but I know from experience that wires can only do so much - we are coming for you." gives me a lot of hope.

A lot of my other favorite moments overlap with those already mentioned, but I don't think anyone mentioned the event when Maya gets her scarf. Man, what a haunting scene when you have the context. I recommend rewatching it.

Edit: Fairytale and Cicadian Rhythm are also special to me. Because not only Ayane becomes a heroine by finding her mother in her daughter (family), but it has some sentences that just live rent free in my head:

Nahh, you’re definitely not alone. Sleepsong is a banger to listen to.

Really, the majority of the game’s soundtrack is. I listen to it unironically.

Kind of worrisome :ROFLMAO:
It's more like I pity Nodoka, tbh.

The whole ending up like her mother, and her trying to liberate everyone stuff from last update:

Was something I've predicted since, well, early on:

Nodoka is protective of those she cares about and sees them being caged as bad for them. The Resets are likely evil in her eyes. Nodoka values freedom.

The ending up as her mother part, was more of a guess, but there were a few hints:

I had thought she might end up being some kind of trump card against this world, but as time goes on, it seems more like she'll end up as Lessons in Love's Icarus, which flew too close to the sun, and ended up drowning. Maybe even literally?:

She's definitely in my top 10, though. Anyone who actually hates her...well, I see them as the crazy ones, lmao. Kind of pity them as well.

Lmao, look, it's not like i love it cause it got my dick hard or something, i love it because it was powerful, that it had an impact on me. It was awful to witness, but it wasn't awful in its construction, it was extremely well done and i'm not someone that needs something to put a smile on my face for me to find it beautiful.

Don't get me wrong, i understand why most people might look at what i said and wonder wtf is wrong with me, but remember, this is fiction, as a species we use fiction to explore what could be, what might be, and also what we wish never was. I'm never ever going to want to hear a real story that mirrors Io's, i couldn't stomach it, literally, even imagining the concept as i type this has my stomach churning, but to safely explore it through fiction, well done fiction at that... it's a gift, one i am thankful for, one that adds greater depth to my experience as a thinking consciousness in this ridiculously absurdist universe.

Stomachache had an impact on me and it's one i will remember many many times in the future. I love it for that; the older i get, the rarer and rarer such experiences come upon me, i'm a misanthropic lump of jaded humanoid flesh, so anything that make me feel something real is something of tremendous value to me.
