I genuinely kind of forgot Otoha even existed. Same with Osako if she didn't become hot recently, which is still on my mind.

There's gonna be two Otoha events though in the next update. I wonder what Selly has in store for us in terms of character development for Otoha. Especially now, after she broke up with Rin and Niki now being securely in Akira's sphere, she seems kind of out of everyone's story arcs.

Maybe the new development with Nodoka apparently getting the Akira treatment, aka forcing her to stop obsessing about her research and maybe just dialing her down in general, might also have a trickle down effect on her and her neurotic tendencies.
And if we're really lucky, there's gonna be Otoha butt stuff. Oh I wish...

Otoha literally went from assaulting Niki to flirting with Maya, so I'm waiting for her to start getting into Sekai - cause all she does is apparently going after people that have been Akira's girlfriends.

I echo the sentiment of not caring at all about her character or arc (she doesn't even have one). At most I can see something coming of her being into wizards or something related to Nodoka, cause if I have to deal with yet another two events dealing with her being into Niki, so help me god.

You know what, I have more crack to add to that pot. Maybe Akira actually turned Maya prime into that white cat we have been seeing around the place a fair bit now since the previous reset.

Now that i thought about it a bit more.
This is even nothing new.
There are a couple of stories out there where gods come to be, or gain their power, from people believing in them.
And the most recent story that came to mind, and i had that thought already but forgot, is the series "American Gods".
There are some parallels with LiL and i wonder if Sel took some inspiration there.
They even also have their own "Techno Gods" in American Gods, like i think it was the "Information Age God" and the "Internet God" and whatnot.

It's like how we have the "Wire God".
And maybe the wire god came to be through Maya, or by Akira how he'd imagine a god that would be associated with Maya's IT comparisons.

Yup. I haven't seen the series, but in Neil Gaiman's novel "American Gods," multiple versions of a god can manifest based on regional changes in how a god is perceived. The Loki that exists in and walks around North America is so different from the Loki that exists in and walks around Scandinavia that they actively hate each other, and every culture that comes to the US brings a unique version of the gods with them.

Tabletop RPG Werewolf the Apocalypse has something similar with Umbral Spirits. Spirits emerge for nearly every concept, and those that are accepted by most of the people in an area become powerful enough to grant supernatural powers to people, with some notable examples being "The American Dream" and "The Allmighty Dollar"

I've mentioned previously that a lot of what Sel references about perception informing reality lines up with how the Hindu concept of the Maya (illusion) as written in Ravnos-related works in the tabletop RPG Vampire the Masquerade, which is by the same company that makes Werewolf The Apocalypse.

And Sel strikes me as exactly the kind of goth boi to have played a lot of White Wolf RPGs and read Neil Gaiman's novels in the past.

Just played the Alexis Happy event (used URM to jump to the alexisevent label, because I had spent too long searching through old saves for the Amy event one :rolleyes: ), and noticed this, which I think might pertain to the missing "new friends" that Selebus teased:

I finally got around doing my green route replay run and while I'm only an hour or two in, I'm excited to look at everything from the start with (mostly) full context and hindsight. Even though it's surprisingly tame so far, but I haven't even gotten to a happy scene yet.

The highlight so far was definitely seeing Maya lecture the newly reset Akira about the rules of this world and being brazenly open about everything.

It was just so heart-warming to see Prima Maya back. And it's such a funny contrast too. I remember my first time playing LiL and thinking that she is an arrogant and stuck-up bitch who is just being purposefully vague and mysterious.
And now I am looking at her with teary eyes and thinking how much I miss this Maya.

Also there's not-horny Sana. What a distant past indeed.

Another funny thing is witnessing Sel thinking he will implement different clothing for Akira, when the most he ever did for his character model to this day is to change the color of the shirt.

The clown god also addresses Makoto as "new friend," I believe (or was it Ayane, my memory is shit)

With all this time in between updates should we do a thread replay and try to hit certain events by certain dates? Use the linear mod in the main post?
