Oh... well now I'm sad... You're right. Rin's expression dropped right after she mentioned that, realizing that she was the cause of Molly giving up on real life. It's explained in the dialogue. Rin's face is more neutral immediately after the choice (while maya's face drops a little immediately) until she mentions the talks she'd had with Sensei where she's given up on IRL love. There's a little guilt there.
Well that... does make sense yeah. It's moments like the scarf and the behind hug after the fight with Noriko and a few other things like when he has one of his memory attacks or whatever you would call those that shows that she appears to have more emotion than she lets on. I wonder if she is secretly happy but frustrated when she gets attention from him and maybe her calling him disgusting is just a way to get him to dislike her and get the others to realize that he is or something. Either way she's had a long time to craft this personality and it's hard to tell what's authentic and not, if she's actually an emotional girl or as emotionless as she tries to show... sort of.Maya's whole deal during all the resets has been trying to lay low and get the Sensei's and other girls to ignore her. 'You're' putting an annoying amount of spotlight on her even if things are already off the rails.
I'm still not entirely sure why Maya needs to lay low and why hostility and distance is necessary. The only thing I can imagine is that it lowers the chance she will accidentally say something that will make him collapse on her again.
Oh and now I started wondering how many lies Maya has told and how many times she's turned a positive reaction to a negative one just to "blend in" or whatever
