The sad part is, I doubt many of them realize he’s shafting them. Like, I could make that shit in an hour, given the KK cards and default animations and poses. The reason people eat it up is the characters that they love and cherish, and how are they created? Not from fucking stock shit. The idiots are working against their own interest by slowing development if this actually happens, when all they need to do is get KK LiL Char Cards, and download KK Studio, and then they could have all the fapbait with LiL characters they want. Frustrating.

That said, I think I remember someone saying you were still in an old version of the game? Try updating it to the most recent one, the guide mod updated a few hours ago, so everything should be good to go.

Well it's essentially the age old choice between having something done for you (for a price) vs. having to do it yourself (for an even higher price sometimes) but having the freedom to do it yourself, the way you want to.

Like people who order their food regularly vs. people who cook for themselves.
Or learning how to sew up holes in your clothes or do some handiwork at home vs. having to rely on paid workers to do it for you.

At the end of the day, society is based on sharing expertise and knowledge so that the community as a whole benefits overall.

Now, to conclude this awkward and botched metaphor, the community in this case is the lilcord and the GOD creator expert would be Selebus, who is the obvious go-to person for this.
Sure, whoever is looking forward to all this, could get KK, download the cards, learn how to set up some decent lighting effects, use their creative noggin and render away. Just like I could buy all the ingredients for a really good Neapolitan pizza and bake one myself instead of ordering it from my favorite pizza place. Would it turn out exactly as good? Probably not, but it would satisfy that urge. Would it cost me less? Maybe, but not necessarily? Do I really want to invest my time, effort and practice to really do that, when I could just put in an order in 30 seconds and wait for 30 minutes? Most likely also no.

And besides, he is still the mind behind this. There is possibly going to be some content outside of non-canon renders that do benefit from him not only having the KK skills but also the story insights to create interesting tidbits.

So, to give them some credit, I don't think the lilcord is as naive and braindead as some make them out to be, Sel is not really shafting them. He is giving them what they want, obviously.
Is it what I want? No, I would be happy to cook my own dinner and instead have the effort put into what I think Sel should be focused on instead. But I accept that I am in the minority. He will look at his paying clientele's feedback, not ours. Which makes sense.

Should we therefore condone the lilcord as tasteless, uncultured swine that are happy to be fed slop because they don't know any better? Probably yes.
But I don't care enough to really get riled up about it.
And there is still a chance that the event might still turn out to be an interesting change of pace and not a total waste of time.

This metaphor would make sense if KK didn’t already do all the work of animations and positions. It’s more like, he buys a Little Ceaser’s Pizza, then puts extra parmesan on it, then serves it and charges $10,000 for it. Look at any of the “bonus content” and tell me he’s adding to it by being the creator. Rin and Sana orc fucking? C’mon; that’s not anything special, it’s just nonsense horny bait. I’m not one to shit on Sel particularly, but this is literally selling KK premade work for $10,000.

Im only “riled up” because it’s a waste of time and resources, and it’s been given the greenlight by a bunch of morons. Giving mindless drones what they want doesn’t make it more palatable to me.

I think that the in-game "playtime" is extremely unreliable as it doesn't take skipping into account very well. I've sort of knew that but now that I think about it, it might be worse than I initially thought.
It also counts the amount of time you spend on a specific piece of dialogue, and if you roll back, your time elapsed rolls back too. If you sleep with the game open, then upon waking up, you roll back a bit and then keep going forward you get rid of the sleep time. It also means that if you rolled back to check some earlier dialogue for whatever reason, you wiped a bit of your playtime too. If you're anything like me reading stuff sometimes, you might be passively wiping a quarter of your playtime.

He is really taking it out on her huh... and she loves it. Just look at the heart eyes. Did they always have that dynamic? Or is this just puppet Maya's thing?
Maybe it's the dynamic they used to have before the loops.

Looks like my vote won't matter as it already seems decided. Like a few here I am devided on this. I've said before I think the bonus non cannon animations are boring and a waste but since this is happening I thought I'd add some hopes and hopes not.

Hope:
Out of all the care package stuff what I have liked most is the love journal, the data sheets, the commentaries, and the extra profile outfits (sue me I like the cute outfits). If this fan-fest finishes the love journal than I'll be happy we got something I wanted. I can also wish we get more data sheets (not the body pics), and the other things I like.
Sel seems excited about this so I can only hope it turns out to be beneficial to the whole story in the long run.
Hope the side story focuses on Sensei or explains evil Ami.
Can hope we get something good with Maya.

Hope not:
More waste of time non cannon animations that just ramble on about money and dumb subs. Watch once and forget.
I fear it will be 90% Yuri content and I'm just not interested.
This side story will be about more of the girls hooking up or about bad shit happening.
Sel could only be excited about the few hundred dollars and all of this will be lame.

With chapter 4 being another two years this story will be going on for a very long time. I don't want a fan fest every year but every five? Its fine whatever.

Bonus joke: LiL still finishes before the Winds of Winter book is released.

Can the owners of discord servers/subscribestar pages manipulate their polls? The absolute landslide for this bullshit march celebratory crap does my head in, i could wrap my head around something like a 2:1 split, but it's like 99:1, it's suss as hell and i would not at all put it past Selly to fuck with a poll to do what he wants but make it seem like he's just following 'the will of the people', if he can. Like, maybe they can set the vote weights for each choice? Or some other kind of behind-the-scenes bullshit...

I seriously doubt it. The Fan Fest poll is around the same amount of votes any other poll Sel has put out on Subscribstar. But Sel promising to bring back the thing that so many people begged him to bring back every single day for a month is what making the gap so wide. That and voting multipliers being applied when the event starts. So the HFWA getting a chance to jork it to the wizards has them giddy.

Sometimes you just scroll through your notifications on Twitter to see which one of your posts popped up and was actually funny or not.

Other times you do so and potentially find Sel's profile.

Given the banner and that they posted this

it might be legit.

It's legit, that was his name before LiL took off and he embraced the Selebus persona. When he was writer for another game that tried to go on Kickstarter 'recently' he used DJNOSTYLE. He has a reddit account too though he only really used it for LiL promotion the last time I saw.

I think Lil Fan Fest is an anti-Piracy attempt by selebus. He knows people here don't care about care packaces or other shit.
So he makes up bullshit excuses and polls, so pirates here has a reason to pay and vote.

Instead of paywalling the game he paywalls the polls.

PS: another month to update 0.48 may give me enough time for me to complate my second playthrough, which is nice.

Thanks for the headsup. I missed the 0.46 version and have been looking for 0.47 every few days now.

Oh god, that's even worse than I thought, again! Yep, don't think there is a reason to include the playtime in the future chapter changes at least.
PS. More Rin replays, yey!
Oh and it turns out the scene with Otoha was added... well that could be confusing to future readers of my text walls if stuff like that will be happening in the future.
Why is that so funny to me? Otoha got two scenes now from non and one is just the one where she sees Niki and him going at it. All she does is have interesting facial reactions and reaching into her pants. That's not worth a replay at all.

You will need every patch between what you're on and the final version you're updating too, and you need to unzip them in ascending order. I believe you're on 0.45 so -> 0.46 -> 0.47.

The patches are on selebus's subscribestar, though that's not showing up on google I'm assuming because subscribestar doesn't allow certain tags to appear on a google search. The 0.47 update from itch io did appear though and there's a link on there. Both patches are public now so there shouldn't be an issue downloading it. If you've already put 0.47 into your game you'll probably want to put 0.46 in and then put 0.47 back in again.
