That's the exact scene where I gained a soft spot for Yasu, Touka's speech actually made me feel bad for ever thinking she was weird and annoying.

I mean, she is weird and annoying. Also creepy. And that's the beauty of it, I think.

The effect of knowing why she is that way is so powerful that it causes a dissonance in that you stop even seeing her like that.

For comparison, Io is still a terrible human being even after we learn what happened to her. Akira's actions are also not justified after we learn (part) of what he went through. But Yasu, Yasu is truly beautiful in that through it all, she's still a good person at heart and trying to do her best (for herself and others).
