So like i undestand mood of tred - everyone pissed off?
Most people seem to be, i'm just kinda bored of it, there were a few decent moments and i think the folks giving Nodoka so much hate don't really understand her perspective but i don't really care enough to get into arguments about it so... meh... this was a pretty mid update.

never undestrand this btw. Yeah, Nagasawa has lack of empathy but to consider her an evil character is very strange.
She openly says in the patch that she doesn't wish harm on anyone and that's what I've always said. And the first day she was incredibly sweet.

To be honest, i hated nodoka when she abused yumi and when she disregarded the Futaba's feelings. It was well established that when there is she can do, she will do it. Just to see what happens next.

After those two moments though, i didn't hate her, i was just disappointed with her, Akira, the story etc.

By the way, just before nodokathon, Nodoka doesn't remember asking Akira to hug her. So something fishy going around.

I think it's mostly the difference between players who are invested in the narrative at face value vs those who consider the existential horror and philosophy of the narrative. Nodoka hurt/s people they like, therefore Nodoka bad vs Nodoka has discovered they're all trapped in a spiritual prison for possibly millions of years, she thinks she's alone so she takes it upon herself to do what she can to free everyone from the prison, but in order to do so she needs to figure out how it works, all the while knowing any attempt she makes to break them out is going to hurt them and runs the risk of her failing and getting reset herself... i fall towards her, if i were in her shoes i'd be fighting just as hard to break the prison and free everyone, even if they all hated me for it...

Edit: to add a little footnote, i actually felt her pain at the end, the defeat, that event should've pissed the gods off enough to act, the fallout cannot be within their desired parameters can it? Surely not, incest with Ami revealed, Sara crushed, Haruka outed, Akira outed even further... and yet they didn't act... why? Nodoka did more than enough to warrant a response... but nothing...

I thought there would be more of a reaction from the girls to Sana telling and then showing her mom she's fucking Akira, especially Ami and Ayane. All they seem to be upset about is Sara's feelings and not the potential implications for Akira.
Agreed, although it does seem to be an open secret now among almost the full cast that Akira is having sex with most of the girls he is around And was even mentioned early in this release. I don't see how this can really continue without major consequences, especially since we are maybe at the halfway point of the game?

Are we going to get a reset of everyone's memories, where they go back to being oblivious that Akira is screwing the majority of the class plus any other women tangently related to them? Or maybe just some? It seems to big to just handwave away, especially with Rika's actions recently. Then again Osako kinda just did that early in this release. I'm interested and worried how this plays out.

Hey look man I didn't *want* to traumatise you, I know I did but like also you're kinda just weak, I didnt want this but this but I knew it'd happen and did it anyway but like, you should have been stronger mentally.

Did Maya do this? No.
Does Ayane do this? No.
Does Yumi do this? No.
Does Makoto do this? No.

I get that she's just pushing against the prison she finds herself in but holy fuck does she seriously think this shit will work.
Even aside from Nodokathon 2 look at what she did to Yumi and Futaba, who need I remind you actively told her not to do that.

She's just a self serving bitch, its as simple as that.
And the worst part is she fucking knows it, she admitted that she hurt Yumi for her own self interests.

They're all pawns to be played with for her, why do you think she calls Akira "Aki-kun" despite knowing that it outright harms him, she just gets off on lording shit over the others cause she's smarter.

I think in the future the only way this update doesn't stick out as a low quality update is if the direction of the story leans harder into the supernatural. Nodoka jokingly refers to the relative lack of progress in chapter 4 so far, and that she was moving to correct that. Part of what makes the end of this update miss the mark for me is the lack of time spent witnessing the characters react to it; a lot of how or what character's feel or think about it seem to be left off screen or inbetween the lines, when the significance/trauma of the events almost require more time to adequately react to in order to maintain a semblance of believability. As things stand, this update more than any other shatters my suspension of disbelief, but that's more so because of what's not in it, rather than what is.

With this story, Sel has done a great job depicting and exploring trauma, it's causes, effects, and horror, in a very full way that doesn't seem superficial, so far. The events of this update remind me a lot of the manga/anime Heavenly Delusion; extreme, identity questioning/shattering trauma is inflicted on important characters, and little to no time was spent really exploring the consequences/ensuing struggle resulting from trauma. Heavenly Delusion never really rectified this issue, but I'm sure Sel will use future updates to flesh out this big big event and not sweep past it like it never really happened... right? Supernatural forces causing the characters to act against their established identity can be interesting, but that nuance comes from the after, the confrontation with the change and juxtaposition between the lack of agency and gravity of actions. This update spends most of it's time justifying the "why" things happen, not enough on the "so what?". Hopefully future updates focus on the "so what?" from this event, Sel never had a problem with that in the past, even as he leaned into the supernatural.

I think that is kind of a feature of the "event" updates. They serve as a story bottle neck within the game. They cause most of the story progress to converge so things are not out of step with each other, and then afterward, the story points are allowed to expand (until the next event). So you really won't see the exploration of the reactions here, but this is more of a setup to what you will see i the next release. Maybe?

I believe I've said this before, but I think Nodoka doesn't really remember what happens. One of her first events was about finding colors. She probably only remembers the facts and whatever her notes tell her, but not really what motivated her to do it other than finding out whatever her mother did, and there's only so much you can cram in notes about experiences, even if you're a genius. Those notes also probably don't help her in getting allies, since she must've caught on to the loops, tried to bring them to fold, and either caused a reset, or found notes that don't explain too much, so she defaults to trying alone. In a way, she's a Maya without love, because she's a genius, so her notes help her remember, but also trap her in that she HAS to solve this, regardless of anything. Not really trying to make her "good", only trying to show she isn't really "evil" in the classic definition, just an asshole to everyone else in pursuit of her goal.

I hope Sel doesn't just cop-out and give everyone "rabies"
I bet the upcoming beach update is going to address that, and probably whatever happened in the last beach event. Because the off-hand mention this update about the beach being closed is pretty much Sel deepthroating you with the Chekhov's gun.

First of all, yes, I am dense and immature and ignorant and whatever you want to call me and anyone else. But I'm also very biased towards her from the beginning of my activity here. I liked her. A lot. But then my sympathy towards her went down to the abyss.
As I always said, as a person she deserves to be fucked by a whole 40 inch dick to reshape her whole body. As a character she's the interesting and one of the most complicated ones. Alas, recently all she does is just being mysterious and edgy as fuck, making her unsufferable bitch both personality wise and character wise.
1746469395689.png - Nodoka.

Secondly, I do understand her point of view. But I see this as absolutely idiotic, stupid and cringe way to do whatever she wants. Good for you if you understand her and this explains and justifies her behavior or whatever it called. But what do I think about "salvation" through pain? Does it worth it. Indeed. But I just said it's idiotic, stu- stfu, yes. I hate every moment of Nodokathon 1.0 and Nodokathon 2.0, but I understand why she is doing this. But also it's seems very stupid or evil from SELEBUS to write it happened this way. Not because of Sara, no, I liked this, though I dislike Sana as a person now. But what I mean is that girls literally stopped caring about everything else, you saw the complains. So whatever Nodoka does only cultivates the divine plan, letting gods have more power since they feed on lust, iirc.
As I said, I'm biased and I hate her as a person. But what I really hate is that she's becoming too one-dimensional with all of that genius facade she wears. The same went for Sana and Miku. I can just can say their personalities are "a bunch of horny energy". Even fucking Chika who most of us dislike for being crazy never lose her character development: yes, she's crazy as fuck, but it doesn't rewrite her whole personality, I still like her as a character. But what about Miku? 10IQ horny girl. Sana? Shy horny girl. That's it.
What about Nodoka? "Genius" horny girl. That's it. Sel can pretend she has a plan (and she indeed has a plan), but the way he is showing it, lacks... lacks just everything.

I recently downloaded the game again since I missed a couple of updates, so I've been trying to set everything up as it was in my previous version of the game. I installed the guide mod, the dark mode mod, and transferred my saves (they worked in 0.46) and tried to start the game. It launches properly but once I try to load in my most recent save, I am met with this error message:

Could someone please tell me what's going on with my game and what I could do to fix it?

Some additional notes: I was checked whether the dark mode mod was the culprit by getting a fresh copy of the game and only installing the guide mod, and it still gave me the same error.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
they're not pawns, they're prisoners who will get reset if she doesn't free them. "Aki-kun" is a trigger phrase, she knows Akira is the key and she's trying the key in any lock she can find or thinks might be a lock
So she blackmails and extorts Yumi sexually, which has no bearing on this.
She writes about Futaba's sex life and publishes it, which has no bearing on this.
She talks shit about IOs sexual abuse in front of everyone, which has no bearing on this.

She's not doing everything to figure things out, I get that in nodokathon 2 she has a theory that is, in all honesty, pretty good. But she goes about it in the worst way possible.
And the rest of the things she does is just for herself, she literally says as much.
... and ffs, can you not parse the idea that someone who is as smart as her truly can just be uninterested in hiding that fact? She doesn't gloat about her intelligence, she doesn't go out of her way to make people look dumb, she doesn't mock people for being stupid
You mean like how she played dumb for the whole dorm wars quiz just to suplex Makoto at the end?
Hell I can and will argue that the way she speaks is in of itself rubbing it in, constantly speaking in riddles so that no-one can truly grasp what she's saying is not only rude, and pretenious, it's fucking annoying.

she just knows she's too smart for them to understand and thus she doesn't even bother,
An inability to communicate is in of itself a problem, if she's that fucking smart I'm sure she can find a way to say "hey are you aware we're in a time loop", worst case scenario they think she's insane, but they already do so who cares.

But wait a sec, she DOES know how to do it, hence her telling Akira to tell her to stop searching. Wasnt so hard for her to say what was going on then before promptly getting stabbed to death by the one girl she should expect would do exactly that.
and it doesn't even matter cause as far as she knows, everyone is unaware of the loops, only she is aware, they'll all be reset at any moment as far as she knows, until she frees everyone from the prison they really don't matter cause they can't, nothing sticks... if she treated them with such disregard out of the prison, i'd fully agree, bitch, but you are judging her with half the story and only scraps of insight into her psyche. Hate the scenes she's in if you want, do whatever you want honestly, but when you get this fervent about hating a character you don't come across as smart or insightful, just immature and ignorant.
Look man I get what you're saying, I just think that there's too much evidence on the contrary. She's not just trying to figure things out, she's also being a cunt.

Edit: forgot to add some spoilers mb.
Also fuck you Sel, Yumi is great.

Look man I get what you're saying, I just think that there's too much evidence on the contrary. She's not just trying to figure things out, she's also being a cunt.

Edit: forgot to add some spoilers mb.
Also fuck you Sel, Yumi is great.
I think the Io thing was still part of her trying to test the boundaries of the world but it was still a hell of a dick move. My theory is that she overheard Io talking to Otoha about how Io finds other people's trauma laughable and that's why Nodoka targeted her specifically. Also If my theory is correct it would mean Nodoka kinda stood up for Yumi, which is nice considering.
