This is actually the best description. Nodoka is an apathetic cunt, she's trying to turn Akira back into USER 4 but not because she wants to help, she's doing it only because she can. Unfortunately for you my guys, Akira won't be regaining
You want to know something guys? This update has pretty much confirmed to me that no matter what happens from now on, we have now the silent confirmation that Ayane will be the cannon "Winner".
Everything I said in the past has been confirmed this update. The girls' feelings are mostly fake or implanted, the only one who genuinely loves Akira is Ayane and Ami has confirmed this. (There is a possibility that it's NOT just Ayane, this depends on what script Selebus chooses. The only other realistic option so far is Yumi)
For everyone who's angry at Sana, take into consideration the fact that she is not herself. As a matter of fact, almost none of the girls are, it's only Ayane.
(This is now my own theory) Ayane's daughter AMI, on the other hand, is the baby she was pregnant with, but she never lost the baby. Ayane made a wish for her baby to be safe and defied the world's logic, this is why Himawari has aged and everybody else doesn't, she is the only true teenager and can travel through the terminal in Key moments.
In the future, Ami the Sunflower, the Wish child will ask for another wish to save the world, and so "A wish that will ask for a wish"

If we really want to get down to it the dev just isn't talented enough to write a character like Nodoka. He made her a super genius in everything and then went: "crap, how do I balance her? Oh, I know, I'll make her a raging fucking psychopath."
If I gave everyone in this thread 60 seconds they could name five other characters that follow the same archetype. Just start with Dr. House and work your way down.
A better written character would have been less intelligent. We can then be shown her working her way through the loops in an attempt to "crack" them trying different things and failing over and over again before realizing that massive trauma might be her only option.
Then, after dorm wars, we get a shot of her sitting on her bed wearing an expression of unfathomable sadness. She destroyed so many people and it didn't even work.
As it stands though?
She's just an asshole.

You know, this reminds me of how Ayane is pretty much one of the few characters with normal-ish reactions this update, though she's being slowly corrupted.

As much as I agree with you, she's written exactly as she should have for what she is. A psycopath would've actually used the others instead of the half-hearted attempts at "breaking them" she's doing. A less intelligent person would've allied with others because she'd have recognized she's too out of her depth. She's the mix of genius and conceited you see referenced when talking about geniuses.

I never really was a fan of Nodoka. She is the prime example for why you cant write a character that is actually smarter than you. Because all you can do is just constantly tell how smart she is, but you can never show it. But this update together with that universe update clearly shows how sel wants to make her sort of a centerpiece of the whole lore and how he wants to build her up as this very important person to all of it.
That she doesnt even remember by itself alone, might not even mean much. Could just be a sign that she has so much on her mind that stuff just slips away. But then we have this teleport hug at the end. And... sigh. I dont like the implication of it.

So I just finished the Dorm Wars update and here is some of what I came away with:
- The more time goes by, the more I miss the Ami who wasn't utterly terrifying.
- Anytime Nodoka acts cute, before long she will utterly destroy it by being awful.
- Anyone who thought that Nodokathon couldn't be more of a trainwreck than it was last time was sadly mistaken.
- I will never again be able to look at Kirin without noticing just how circular her eyes really are.

Btw speaking of Nodoka there is something that actually makes me angry about her that hasnt even directly to do with her. And that is that Futaba acts more and more like she completely forgive what she did to her. Which just isnt earned. Nodoka didnt do anything that would lead even slowly over time to Futaba forgive her for the book. And she basically still does. Why even introduce this Sel when you cant even be bothered to use it for anything but a single drama event and some reference here and there?
I mean maybe if she would forget about it and so he would use it as part of the time fuckery, or maybe some god playing with memories. But that aint either what he is doing. It was references just this update again.
So why is Futuba still hanging out with that bitch?
It really makes no sense. I actually wouldnt even be surprised if she would even be part of the next crappy Nodokathon. Just to really rub it in how there is zero build up to it and that it is just there to assasniate character after character for some quick fetish fuel.
