Particularly, I question the decision of "I don't want to cut ties with Yumi, but will have everyone here gangbang her mother and then throw her naked outside" ????? I'm sorry, what? That part makes zero sense to me.
To be fair, it seems understandable from the perspective of an egotistical power-hungry yakuza boss. He did mention how he initially thought that, but her arrogant defiance seemed to set him off and changed his mind. I don't think he really meant those words to begin with, he just wanted to see her suffer and let her guard down.

As I read it, I kept thinking to myself: Is this really necessary in terms of narrative? And I still don't know. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that a degree of that would happen
I agree for the most part, the only thing I can think of that it would add narratively is to show just how much bullshit Yuki has had to deal with to make her end up where she is and HOPEfully pave a path for a possible redemption (or retribution). In theory that kind of arc could work, but effectuating it is a whole other beast.

No idea what Selebus's plans are from it, but I enjoyed the bit of characterization we got from the boss and how it further solidifies some of Yumi and Yuki's respective characters. Strong scene, but still overshadowed by many of the others

Really the bad part about this I find is that from a purely authorial standpoint it is deeply mean spirited, especially as this update tries to reflect Sekai in a more positive light. Its an interesting thing where for every step forward there is a solid, vindictive step back. There is this pervasive idea in the narrative, spelled out explicitly in some cases, that people need to be driven to absolute rock bottom before they can be 'fixed' and from that I'm reading that Yuki is almost being punished for the crime of... Not being broken enough by a Cancer diagnosis? Its excessive and reflects very poorly on the level of grace the audience is expected to give to other characters.

I had an entire thing thought up about Akira, Sekai, and modern sex offender typology I wanted to muse on regarding the Niki scene but how it intersects with the Yuki storyline has put me in a bit of a less charitable mood regarding Sel's handling of the topic.

Revenge is far more likely. She never got any money in the end, he did it out of spite. We either take this as an entirely meaningless event except to put Yuki on a footpath Tsubasa walks, or this becomes Yuki's stakes, the spite she needs to survive. The police ain't gonna arrest the Yakuza for her revenge.

Me: Did you get what you wanted?
Noriko's fans: Yes....
Me: And what did it cost you?
You know what, a goddamn bargain. I'm sad that she wasn't actually spying on Sana (He's written himself out of that possibility) but she was living in denial.

And for that we got a proper baring of the soul from Akira, Noriko got the hugest win for that, and then he showed her so much respect refusing to stop, and insisting on privacy. We even got some of the crashout he's been saving up in that exchange. Watching the Noriko bonus animation to see the difference between fanservice sex vs sex she earned was fantastic.

Not to mention we got proof he can actually get properly mad at Ami. There's a chance we get to see the apartment come into intended use as a Ami-less hideout. It's not a guarantee anymore that he's always going to forgive her. If he can recognise the manipulation she pulled at the end (turned the arugument into "I GUESS FUCK ME FOR DOING SO MUCH FOR YOU I'LL GO SOMEWHERE I'M NOT HATED" to deflect the pain she tried to inflict on Niki and Maya) he might stay mad at her for a longer time, which could then go into whatever causes dark route.

Not being broken enough by a Cancer diagnosis?
Remember it's not even a cancer diagnosis at this point. It's just some problem with her lungs. She wasn't paying enough attention to it and had the potential bill ripped up which could have more information on it for someone who would react in a calm manner. Good luck for anyone like that being in a position to read that now that she's gonna live in the manor for a while.

Just playing around with generic events and I found something odd, if you visit Maya at the dorms you see Maya Prime, not the meat puppet. At least that's how it seems. Her affection can be raised. Dunno if this is new or I missed it before.
Forgor to respond, and post is getting long.

This was a thing since 0.46, the Christmas party with Tsukasa watching the sex into having the heart to heart with Maya. You likely missed it because Sel fucked up the programming, and made it so mayablock was only removed if you had >=3000 ayane_love. In 0.47 it was fixed to be removed on both paths, and autopatched so the block is lifted if you've seen the end of the xmas party.

I was gonna leave it there but I noticed a very minor difference between the ending speech based on 3000 affection or not. Wouldn't be surprised if the difference was an accident but who knows maybe it's major lore.
<3000 ayane_love | >=3000 ayane_love
"{i}It appears that you’re ready to talk to her again!{/i}"
"{i}Don’t get {b}too{/b} close, though! You saw what happened last time!{/i}"
"{i}But if it still feels wrong, maybe getting closer is for the best after all?{/i}"
"{i}Is another taste of her forbidden fruit so tantalizing that you’d risk damning humanity to fill your stomach?{/i}"
"{i}You have many things to figure out about yourself! About what you want! About where to go!{/i}"
"{i}And there’s no one around to hold you back any longer.{/i}"
"{i}You are free.{/i}"
"{i}You can eat taste as much fruit as you want.{/i}"
And yes, it is the same event. Seems like a last minute change with the fact it was able to be bugged like that. I was hoping Maya wouldn't get cucked this update, we might have been able to update the dorm generic, and given her a new shrine generic event. Guess we have to wait for either the next update, or whenever Maya is willing to confess to Akira what Ami was willing to pull. Akira's got his life to threaten Ami with if she tried to cross the line with Maya.

God, I hate this MC so fucking much. Unironically castration may be the only solution.
Very well, cause "this MC" will inevitably slips to and acknowledge the same solution where he'd castrate himself for a happier outcome. That event also has my favourite soliloquy in the entire game. Yes, I'm talking about Episcopalis.

Oops, it seems like the quasi-NTR mockery has triggered some certain anguish and revengelust. Sel you really are a great provocateur aren't you? Don't get me wrong, the gangrape part for me seems to be one more non-sequitur and only serves to bring greater pain and you guess it, another cycle of fixing. What interests me here is your reaction. I mean, if we abstains from Akira's lofty and quite mesmerizing monologues, he's blankly a rapist too, and groomer, and pedo, and other things modern society despises. Oh sure he has Pareidolia who "commandeers" him to do that. But quite truly did Pareidolia confess he's "nothing but his wishful thinking" before disappearing.

What amazes me is always that we tends to downplay and ignore iniquities we enforced, cause I mean, Akira is the MC. Every player knows what characteristics he has and seems fine with it somewhere alongside the play. "It all changes with light" as Tsubasa subtly puts in The Pleasures of the Flesh. And she also said something impressed me unexpectedly in that event: after she told us the past where she's been gangraped for countless times. She enquired why that made her seems to be weak while for Akira, a feat to brag. Cause he's the protagonist? I always assume that's what she's trying to say as we all know her unique connection to narration. Quod licet iovi non licet bovi...

Despite all that, I kinda miss the life-mentor Yuki in her ride with us. She's so unique and wise at the beginning.

Unfortunately, the MC sure says a lot of shit but doesn't actually do anything, but I guess that's the extent of the empathy he can muster after ruining the lives of everyone around him.

Like, please tell me he didn't get mad at Ami for showing Niki the truth after he made the conscious choice to rape her sister in front of her
You can do both, they are separate issues.

Like imagine I'm a streamer, and I don't think getting spoiled on something ruins the experience for me (case in point, first thing I did this update was look at the animations in the patch folder, then scanned the event images, seeing Noriko had her virginity taken, and Maya seemed to not have any sexual ending, though I did think they went back to the takoyaki stand after the dorms based on filenames)

I would be well within my rights to ban any random who came into the stream and just started posting random spoilers for things. Just because they failed to ruin my day doesn't mean I should ignore their attempt to ruin my day.

Just because he was willing to finish fucking Noriko like she wanted despite the pain it put Niki through, doesn't absolve Ami of her (successful) attempt to ruin Niki's day.

Moonflare has a guide, primarily autoplay. Not entirely.

IF Ami had done this for something good it would be "ok", like, if she did it just to show Niki how screwed Akira is to help her get out of that mindset, it would be "ok" but no, she did it just to make Niki angry and move out of the house and ruin her day, it wasn't an act of kindness, she did it just to get Niki kicked out of the house and ruin her relationship with Akira. she was a bitch and nothing more

Yes, obviously. My point was about how he has the audacity to criticize someone else's decision making when what he did was thousands of times worse. It wasn't a defense of Ami :ROFLMAO:
