Did you guys like this update or not? I personally think it's written better than the previous one and we finally get a break from a chain of aimless events. I think the game needs to go darker, how low can we go?
I feel like I'm in an abusive relationship, and I ain't trading it for all the welfare checks in the world.

Haha glad that someone shares my opinion about the update.

May I ask why would a japanese person dislike this update? is it about the Yakuza? I am well aware of their culture, I have played all of the Yakuza games but I also know how different the real Yakuza are. While Yakuza contrary to popular belief aren't thugs, but act more like Vigilantes with their own code of law, it's not like the locals love them precisely because stuff like what happened to Yuki tends to happen sometimes.

I think that other than Yuki's last event, this is what every update should be: a group of events that advance the story.

That being said, I think Selebus may have lost his hand for the balance of this one. He had one event overshadowing everything else (which is only a problem if you're playing update by update of course, and I do wonder how chapter 4 will feel like when we're able to play it entirely in one go).

*Also, I ran out of reactions a while back. A shame since there have been a lot of good posts since then.

Undoubtedly it's the most uncomfortable an update/chunk of events has made me. Bouncing off from Sana in dorm wars I figured I was in for a grim time there but almost every other facet of the update is what feels like it will stick with me for a while.

The story being negative isn't inherently negative as far as the quality of the story, though, and overall I'd say I liked the update. Most of it was very well written - which is the aspect of the game I fell in love with in the first place - and I'm happy to see the story's actually progressing again. Loved the TSS, too.

I will echo Moonflare's sentiment though, in that I'm not convinced Yuki's gangrape was wholly in service to the story. Feels like there's plenty of ways to achieve the result without going to that extreme.

In my opinion, I think this was the darkest update of the game, I think this was the only update where there was shit after shit, where there was nothing or almost nothing positive, I think it was the only update where we didn't have anything positive happening for the characters, just suffering and nothing else, updates that had "Stomach pain", "remember to smile", and things like that, they still had positive things happening, not this one, this was pain after pain, nothing positive happened 100% in this one, like, ok Akira talked about another one of his traumas, he gained a little more courage, and so on, but like, almost nothing good, just trauma after trauma was given to the characters.

8.5/10 for this update, compared to the others this one was infinitely better,

It might be true that dark thing after dark thing happened during this update, but honestly I didn't feel it quite as much.

I think that's bad from a reader's perspective, I kinda dissasociated from everything that was happening. Not completely, but like my level of emotions wasn't equivalent to what was happening on screen. I still felt anger and sadness, but not as intense as it should've been.

It didn't reach the shock and despair I had during Molly's Lavender's Green, clicking the unclikable option dozens of times hoping something else would happen.
The dread of Karin possibly being raped.
or the sadness & disgust I felt during Stomachache.
During all of those, every click to progress the story felt heavy and painful.

Something I remember from a long time ago was the first time I read Tsuneyo's stand-up comedy event. It made me feel so uncomfortable that Tsuneyo would bring up that incident in front of everyone, that I literally had to stop and walk away for a few minutes before I could keep going. That event is nothing comparable to what happened in 0.50. And yet I had such a much stronger emotional reaction to it.

It might just be a me thing, but that's how I'm feeling at the moment.
Like, it is kinda scary how little I cared for these characters I have grown to love for years.
I think I either need to stop playing for like half a year and come back, or replay the game again so that I remember why I fell in love with these characters.

But for now, I'll reserve my judgement until beach.

I still think it was a great update. Is just that sadly my emotional investment is not matching the relevations, and suffering they endured.

Sara was basically like:

I'm a bad mom, I can only do sex right.
This is why I could never connect with my daughter.
Now my daughter wants to include me in her sex life.
That's a bad thing.

Wait... but isn't that the one thing I'm good at though?
Then, if we have sex with the same dude, wouldn't we finally be able to connect?
Is that such a bad thing after all?

Sara is the best girl! She did nothing wrong!

I am a bit bored of questions, so I made full chapter 4 walkthrough. I promise to keep this post updated at least until chapter ends

That's quite nice, yes, but what Makoto is wearing in that scene is un-fucking-real... leggings with skirt and suspenders... if only she had her glasses on...
If she had her glasses on I will rate it top1 myself

Those are my initial thoughts. Usually I let it sit a while and make a more structured post, but I had to digest a few things through writing this time. All in all, solid update, tbh this is what an update should be like.
