. That really hit me hard. Because you, as the player know something is wrong when she leaves early but you dont know what. And it being revealed like that... its just.. amazing storytelling.

Maybe I will actually read the happy events now instead of ctrl-skipping them lmao

That would be a good idea lol especially if you're the type of person who likes to do more than one playthrough. Either way they tend to provide a lot of insight into the world/Sensei or hints about things.

The part about the "proof" is actually pretty interesting. When I read Sana's event, I just thought the whole thing with Niki leaving to take a shower and then Sara having sex with Akira feels like a pretty standard trope in H-games — one character steps out for something, two others do “it,” and when the first comes back, they’re completely clueless. I remember Akira having similar situations with someone else where the others didn’t notice, so I didnt think much until u talked about this.

It makes me think that either the gods affect which events will happen, how ppl act in this world… or maybe Niki’s actually an idiot. Either way, I really liked that part of your take, and if this actually plays out in 0.50.0, it’s going to be pretty interesting to see.
wouldn’t it be more like Niki trying to willfully ignore everything that presents Akira in an awful way? probably because she knows deep down that if she acknowledges the fact that Akira is actually fucking his students and daughter, she’d have no choice but to leave/give up. so if there’s any plausible deniability at all or if there’s any sign that Akira is salvageable at all, she’d rather believe Akira is being somewhat lovable over anything else, that and Akira claiming to want to be a father gives Niki an impression of ‘hey he’s trying, so I have reasons to be here to help’. Basically she has been in that delulu the whole time, think about a loving wife blocking out every obvious hint that her husband is cheating and that might just be the idea.

that’s why it took Ami nudging her to face Akira X Noriko to actually confront the possibility of Akira being a depraved mofo. she wasnt going to make Akira face consequences or anything, she’s just trying to find any reason to stay with the man she’s been chasing her whole life imo. ffs i recall she became an idol just so that she could find Akira too, too much of her feelings are tied to him, she’d sleep on a bed of nails before she gives up the love of her life

She actually enjoy being an idol and teaching others now but I agree with you

Wait... I've just realized something...

The most adult and responsible* characters (Niki and Rika) are depicted as «idiot», while the others just «accept» Sensei grooming children... even Osako.

It's like, the more intelligent you are, the more you accept incest, depravity and child abusing.
Like Touka, who didn't care about a child wanting to fuck Sensei, but only being cuckold.

Girl! He fuck with all your classmate! You're already cuckold!

Now, I wonder if Sel shouldn't have promised that Sensei will complete his harem during chapter 4. Clearly, it's a mistake. Because he doesn't have any plan and write what feel «right» at the moment. Not a bad thing, but now, it feel like he force thing to happen.

*I only calculate those who've act like a «normal» and responsible adult. Rika confronting her daughter and Sensei after the «text message», and Niki trying to help both Sensei and Ami.

I have a question: The whole moral compass thing regarding Chinami & Tsukasa, which event is the decision maker?
On the wiki, for event "A Part of Your World" you get different affection with Tsukasa depending if you are deplorable or have a moral compass. What makes you deplorable? Even the variable name would be helpful to edit with URM52

First you had to have not pussied out of seeing a topless Chinami in the bath both times, first time happens in chapter 2, then after Chapter 4 starts before you even get to the generic menus you get a choice in Holden Caulfield between picking Chinami or Tsukasa, pick Tsukasa. Soon afterward you have to call Tsukasa 3 times for events, ending with Failsafe. You have to take it. From that point you're locked in.

Okay, thanks, that's a big help. I honestly don't even remember the bath scene with Chinami in chapter 2. Was it an event for her, or for Chika?

Chika, it's her last event in chapter 2 ('The Gap in the Door' is the name, I think)

You/Sensei call Chika in the morning and get there to find her bathing Chinami and are given the option to opt to sit outside and wait for them to finish or to go in and join them (at Chika's suggestion). The actual event on its own plays out quite innocently with still fully repressed Sensei so it's not particularly memorable, especially since if you opt not to join half of the event is cut. It's basically just a big opt-out flag for "wizard" content for those who're too uncomfortable with it.

In the world of literature, writers can have different ways of structuring their stories. Some write like architects, they create a plan for the entire journey and try to follow it meticulously whilst filling the gaps in a way that makes them happy. Selebus on the other hand is like a Gardener, he just takes care of his flowers along the way, trims what he likes, adds new flowers or just makes stuff up along the way. You can always have an end goal for the story as a gardener, but you pretty much just make stuff up along the way.
Someone I'd consider an Architect is Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), and someone I think is also a gardener would be Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball)

In my opinion, the best way to make a masterpiece is to unite an Architect and a Gardener, two writers together who think differently can go very far if they have the same goal in mind.

I agree with that. I don't judge how he write. The problem I saw is, since Selebus promise to complete the harem during chapter 4, he try to make it happen, without knowing exactly how it would happen, so the story stop.
He try to figure a way to «force» the character who won't participate in depravious act (Niki, Rika, Maki, Sara, Wakana, etc...) to finally participate. The fact that Makoto propose, for the test, to being caught by her mother isn't innocent. And that's not badly done, it's quite in line with the evolution of Makoto, but I can't unsee why Selebus make her propose it now.
Sara's the same. It's not badly done... it's just... it feel like a checklist, you know?
That's why I say he shouldn't have make that promise. He should have stay on is old way, writing like a gardener (to keep your metaphor). Because, right now, it feel unatural...

I wonder if I even want to play the next update on release. Surely its just going to be set up for a series of cliff hangers where nothing else of note happens. Might as well just wait till its closer to the subsequent update.
It will have some sensei quest like thing, a puzzle designed to take a longer amount of time than normal to bridge the month gap.

I hope Eiichiro Oda stated that he had planned OP out from the start somewhere.
Because 20y+ is a fucking long time to just come up with whatever.
I even think that IF he really planned out everthing and stuck to it, it would have taken him years before he started to release OP.
Unless you do have some proof to back your claim, i sadly have to say i'm not gonna buy it.

i definitely agree with you here, Sara just snapping out of manic mode and gets talked into accepting Sana being Akira’s fucktoy in just one event was one hell of a whisplash for me.

here's a hint: in hex, the numbers always come before letters. e.g. 2e 6e is correct, not e2 e6
