I'm currently playing .45 and saw we are at .52 already! Can I download the latest version and somehow play from my .45 save? ... I hope I don't have to start all over again =(

I know we joked about it one time but we don't actually delete our saves and ask for a new one every update.
You should update asap, there are bugs that get fixed in the next version of the game every update.

There's a patch with each update so no, you don't have to start again. Sel releases an update (nearly) every month so that would obviously be very impractical lol
The links will be hard to find and probably dead here, but if you head on over to Sel's Subscribe Star you can download the patches one by one. You'll have to do it in order though (i.e you'll need to patch 0.45 to 0.46, 0.46 to 0.47, etc.).
Alternatively for the sake of ease since you're some behind now you can just download the current game here and copy/paste your save files from your 0.45 version to the new download (the saves folder is in the game folder)

I think that it'd depend heavily on who killed her. If she was assassinated, I think it wouldn't affect Akira that much (that it was her specifically), because it would be reset crap all over again. Kind of like Nodoka being killed. Shocking? Definitely. But not that much more shocking than anyone else in that position.
If Niki had killed herself over what Akira did to Noriko then yeah, I think that would matter quite a bit.

I was thinking more that if Ami did it since they were just discussing Niki earlier. I guess it doesn't matter, I think Akira would have lost it all the same. I do wonder if it would have had a different fan reaction. I feel the NuMaya death didn't hit me as hard since we already saw her die before and it was way worse then. Niki might have been a different reaction. Ehh, just something I was thinking about.

He'd be shocked but I don't think it would have caused the reset like Maya's did.
Ami 100% did this on purpose to prevent the group getting any further.
Also niki's event was fucking hilarious. 10 / 10.
That's hilarious considering their only accomplishment thus far has been making custom matching t-shirts.

I think Niki not leaving the house despite Noriko sex, Akira wanting to become a dad and refusing Ami's advances made her plans obsolote.
Thats why she needed a irreversible reset?
What made me wonder is himawari's reaction to the head. She looked like she was annoyed by a prank.
Possibly thinking, "Oh, great, more work now. Got to save the whole freaking universe."

I don't think it'd do anything worse than what he did during "God of Light". He wouldn't be happy but he wouldn't reset or slip or anything.
Simply because he refused to stop having sex with Noriko for Niki's sake. He did for Maya's sake.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say it would have been a similar result.
He might not feel the same way about Niki as he does Maya but he still obviously cares about her - and, more to the point, I think the fact that it's his beloved daughterniece who both did the deed and shyly handed him the box would be enough to do it regardless of whose head was in the box.
